Installing an SV650 Shock in a KX65 Supermoto 

They're the stock bolts, if I'm ever in there again I can take a look but it probably wont be for a while that I'm popping the shock off.

That looks like a pretty fun build!

Can do, they are pretty short with the mags, full sized on the spokes

No mods needed, it just sits a little higher with the same linkage. You do have to cut the seat a little with the ZX6 shock to clear the reservoir.

I haven't looked into the KX85 side of things yet

A small hacksaw gets in there nicely and I followed it up with a file.

it's considerably stiffer than the stock shock and it has less travel overall.

Ha funny enough I have a 65 with one in the garage at the moment. It looks like the zx6r shock is about .5 inch longer than the sv650. Visually I couldn't really tell with the bikes next to each other

@@ianparrish2621 It's much more plush than the SV shock with better rebound. I actually prefer the SV shock though but that's probably because I have more time with it.

Got a video coming tomorrow on it actually. .38 kg springs, 20w oil and 100mm from the top of the fork.

Mototriad emailed me again to let me know the springs are actually closer to .55kg from them.

I've never taken it on the dirt, I can't imagine it would be all that great as it's super stiff. I can drop it of the stand and the bike doesn't compress at all.

Dam so not good at all on dirt with that shock

@@jordanreye1 Probably not great, I'm not sure I'd want to hit whoops with one.

@@jordanreye1 You can prob get the stocker rebuilt and grab a new spring if you need something stiffer

I've never run a zx6 shock but I think 2002-2016 will work in the kx.

I can't say for sure but my guess would be that it would work on the kx60.

Been slammed with work haha, trying to get back in the swing. One is currently in SM form and running well, one I borrowed the engine from for an emergency repair before sprint races, and the last is awaiting a deep clean and some new plastics before I list it for sale.

Not sure the newer generation shocks fit, 03-12 fit for sure.

No adjustment on the SV shock. It's super bare bones haha
