Surprise to see you not make the head flashing (z-flash) 1/4” longer on each side and fold the tab down. Would protect any water that would want to roll off the side and under the head flashing.

I’m curious what you guys are doing to air seal the window on the inside. I’m in VT now but spent the first 15 years of my career building in Watch Hill. When you leave that bottom flange untapped, in a strong wind I’ve seen the house turn into a vacuum and suck water up and in all the way up the clapboard to the back of the sill and drip down the framing. I use Siga Rissan tape around the window jamb after foam now but I’m always interested in what everyone else is doing.

We'll put a 3/8 backer rod and spray foam insulation. Between that and the trim, we've never had an issue with negative pressure in all our years building on the coast implementing this strategy. - Ryan

Nice man, yeah I’ve seen water make it’s way between a copper pan and the window and door foam, but I don’t like the copper pan flashing anyway it’s a pain to foam with that lip up on the inside at the bottom. Architects orders sometimes though. I’ve never used the backer rod, that definitely makes sense.
