I really want to make this happen with my 124 Abarth too. Any recommendation on who can do this state side? I'm in Minneapolis, MN. Recommendations are appreciated. Thanks in advance
Looks like a great mod. Have just returned a day ago from a 16 day road trip to Germany in Abarth 124 Spider. Car returned 41 mpg on mixed A roads and Autobahn, pretty pleased with that. Car is also quite happy at 130mph with the roof down.
@@StefABtv Went with my wife and we took two nike holdalls, plus winter jackets, the boot holds alot more than you would think. Also took two small rucksacks. Go with the soft top you'll have much more fun and all your gear will be out of sight safely in the boot.
Great video. Looking forward to watching some more great upgrades and drives with this fab Italian sports car. I love this car. I'm running a EuroCompulsion bigger turbo on my non Abarth Fiat 124, it's an awesome power upgrade, I'm sure you would love it. Enjoy your roadtrip
👌👌👌👌 This guy certainly knew his stuff and was very professional 👌👌👌👌 Would have made a great video if Bradley would have said to you " stripped it all down, installed all the updated software, but I forgot to tell you I haven't yet been on my second course on how to reinstall the interior yet, I`ll pop back in a couple of weeks mate" 😁😁😁
New stance looks boss! Bradley kinda looks like Tom Holland 🤣 Very nice work by him, by the way! Was I the only person watching nervous 100% of the time with the dismantled car, since it looks like it had finished raining recently? I was praying for it not to rain with all the dashboard torn apart haha.
Been considering doing this... But it looks like on startup you only get the Abarth logo and not the 124 Spider car animation? Is that the case? I have a 124 Spider animation after the brand logo on mine and it looks great so don't want to lose that! Thanks
Beyond applying small decals modifications on cars are such a faff! That's why you get a mate in the know or a specialist in. The end result is great though if you spend a lot of time driving and need/want all the mod cons/ endless choice of music etc... I wouldn't get my 595 Abarth lowered personally but it is a personal preference and imagine it would add to the go kart feel of the car more akin to a mini. It would be a bit pointless in a Range Rover!. I love the simplicity/ user-friendlness of the technology in fiats/Abarths as the last thing you need when you are driving is too many distractions.
Hi Stef ABtv, I know your Abarth 124 is gone now, but I’ve just installed carplay on my Abarth 124 over the weekend - one question: did you also install the tweak to disable the screen lock while driving? I’ve been told that this may cause system instabilities… just wanted to check???
Did this to my Abarth 124 except I went to version 70.00.335. I believe the version you have may have a echo problem with Bluetooth phone calls. I ended up buying the gear to connect directly to the CMU (Car stereo system) and ran through the upgrade then applied the AIO tweaks directly to the system. It’s hot that hard just need to connect the cables I the correct places. Plus I have the same car colour and specs as yours 👍🏻 Another good mod is the Mazda Auto powered dimming rear view mirror mod. Helps with not having the vibrations on the current manual OEM mirror. 😉
@@cullmaster7361 that's true, but 335 requires a further serial connection to mod it after installation (as in sure you know as you'll have had to do it), and I doubt they were comfortable doing that. Personally I haven't ever noticed any real advantage of 335 over 100, and I've never heard the echo issue either. UK cars don't have the wiring for the auto dimming rear view mirror, but I'm developing a kit to make adding it easy. I'm with you on the replacement mirror being better than factory
I thought it came with Android auto on the system? The mx5 has Android auto doesn't it? I did the same mod to my Megane. There's a great community of these "infotainment hackers" out there.
Hope it works better than the fiat 500 apple carplay ! As soon as you start driving you can only scroll through a few songs, so you end up going back to your phone 🙄 The apple CarPlay in my Citreon van is completely different and I can scroll through everything
My #1 gripe with my A124 is the MZD system. It is a serious piece of crap.....even when it is working (mine has been very buggy, unfortunately it seems to snap into normal every time I have taken it to the dealer.....grrrrrrrr). Reading Mazda forums its not rare. I have given up on fixing it a bit as I did not buy the car because its awesome infotainment system. I sometime do wonder if I should do this upgrade to see if fixes the issue(s). Then I see the amount of work and think to myself .......hummmmm maybe not
You can upgrade the firmware without fitting the Android Auto / CarPlay hardware. You don't need to take anything apart to do the software upgrade, so long as you're starting on version 56.x.x firmware
Love your videos! Got my 124 coming on Wednesday. Are you able to play music through USB or Bluetooth in the standard infotainment? I’m assuming yes but just curious.
Interesting video but I just wanted to scream at you to respect social distancing - as a person with over 40,000 subscribers, you should be setting an appropriate example.
Sorry, I forgot that the virus is so advanced now that it avoids infecting anyone who's doing blokey car stuff. It's not macho to disregard the health of others - it's pure and simple selfish.
@Antonio Farina Where the hell did you get that crap from? Children are back at school sharing any viruses and flus that they have and building their immunity. I've never read such utter nonsense.
