Part 1 of a Two-Video Series that are Step-by-Step instructions for installing Railroad Spike style 5th string Capos on a 5-String Banjo by Richie Dotson of Acoustic Box Stringed Instrument Repair
Thanks for the videos. After watching and learning from you, I summoned enough courage to try installing spikes in my banjo. No more unsightly sliding capo on the neck :)
I know Im asking randomly but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the login password. I love any help you can give me
@Axl Nixon i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Thanks for all the great info .... but you didn't point out where the spike goes, in relation to the string ..... which side of the string does the hole get drilled , and how close to the string ... ? Thanks again for the help... keep 'um coming ..
@RichieDotson There ya go ... thanks ... we now know all we need to know about those banjo spikes :) (I still think I will look you up and have YOU do it.)
Does it matter which way the spikes face because I have a Deering Classic and the spikes were installed by the factory facing up and they do slip out sometimes and it is a pain. Was this done wrong at the factory?
