I'm making more progress on the acoustic guitar. I need to trim the top and back plates flush with the sides. Then I'll cut the binding channels and install the maple purfling and homemade Elm Binding. Then there's the sanding.

Thank you,....great video taking us through the whole process, purflings and bindings are so crucial for the over-all perfection of craftsmanship, a rough purfling/binding job will attract negative attention quickly.

I can't wait either. I was using my Skyscraper Radius sanding beam today on the fretboard.

Hope you see this Jeff. I got an email add from Stewmac this morning saying that they have some European Spruce tops and a few other Variety of spruce and some cedar starting at as low as $49.00 for one sized for a small guitar and I think it was $69.00 for a dreadnought size. Hope it helps out if you are interested.

Hi Jeff! I must’ve missed something. I watched your other video where built a binding channel cutter jig that included a retractable lift and donut. Why didn’t you use that binding jig to gut the binding channels on the guitar body in this video? Thanks Jeff!

Great and cool at the same time = so interesting. My guess was 5-7 cracks per piece. Ah well, just shows me why I shouldn't be doing this and you most definitely should.

I know you built the binding cutter jig. But if you didn't have a YT channel, would you get the Elevated Lutherie binding tool? Even at it's cost? It seems like that's what a lot of professionals are getting now. Toughts?

Thanks! I have never used the Elevate Jig myself but have check out a version of it that a friend of mine made. There's something about that design that seems a bit unstable to me. I'm not a fan of the way you need to balance the instrument on the jig while in use. My friend that tried it has since switched to a design more like I use. I'm not saying the Elevate jig is bad at all, I've seen many builders use it and have great results. Its just not my personal preference and I personally don't think I'd buy it. I hope that helps.

I can't believe you haven't asked for my name and address yet so you know where to send it.
