Installing an electric chicken fence. There are many different kind available on the market. They are pretty much the same size, about 42 inches high by about 164 feet long.
The prices vary a lot. From $200 up to $800. From the search I did, the more expensive ones aren't worth the price differences. I got mine at my local feed store for about $200.
It is orange which I prefer. This colour is highly visible either in summer or in winter. Most of the ones we see in videos are white. White is fine in the summer or places where it doesn't snow. But here in Canada, the ground is cover with snow for at least 4 months every year.
A white fence, then become invisible and wildlife like deer can run into them because they didn't see it.
Many fences offer either PVC posts or fibreglass posts. The PVC are way too flexible, making it hard to keep the fence nice and tight. In my case I had to add extra posts to keep the fence from sagging to the ground and having parts of the conductive wires touching the ground and making contact which draws electricity from the energizer and greatly reduce its efficiency.
If you have the choice, choose the fence with the fibreglass posts, they are stiffer and if your ground is nice and flat, you might not need extra posts to pick up the slack.
