Really liking this channel. Two very nice folk and the work is all very tidy. And the French country side is amazing. Love to know where Ian learned all his DIY skills. Every thing is done really well
Keep posting uploads. Lots of us out here enjoying them. Wish I had my dream home in France. We holiday there most years and love the countryside. It’s like Britain years ago.
Thanks for the kind words - we do love it here and glad that our family has grown up here and started theirs. Funny having little French grandkids.... 😀
Hi ian an julie well that's a really nice edition t o your land . You both put a lot of very hard work in. I know myself on my land renew or putting up fencing can be hard as if you dont reaknow whats in the ground sometimes its a nightmare othertime plain sailing . That gate looks really nice made and your main posts are going nowhere. Absolutely love the post driver what make and model as i could be doing with that thing really enjoy watching the channel and look forward to house build . You both put yoursoul into this and are both very hard workers wish every success with it
We have been using the “Grippler” product for over 20 years now with great success. The added bonus is if the fence gets loose, it’s an easy job to retension.
The video including the foal was awesome! ♥ Love the videos especially the "wildlife" (the doggos) 😃 and the panoramic views. Another crackerjack week! Cheers from the USA.
Well done, very professionally done. With the bare ends of the wires if you can fold them back along the wire into a U shape & cover it up 2 thin panes of gal steel sheet glued together with silicone with the wire in-between.
@@HomesteadingUncontained Or there are these things that I only just remembered the name of Figure 8 Aluminium Swage Ferrule. They crimp the 2 wires together side by side.
You bought a pile driver! Oh wow! I'm about to start a backyard fence project and I'm thinking of picking up one for it. I'm going to use metal fence posts, but it's encouraging to see how easily a large diameter wood post went in with the pile driver. With seeing you tamping the dirt/ concrete mix w/ the dowel - I've heard of folks using a jackhammer or power hammer with a special-made fitting as a power tamper. That way, you don't have to use a dowel or tamp with a large, heavy hand tamper. I remember you did some quick welding a while back. Maybe you'd be able to weld a tamping plate onto a power hammer attachment. Just an idea. Keep of the good work!
nice bracing on the H brace,.... i think i prefere the method where you have 4/6 strands and you just twist together. the zip-ties, will breat off because of the sun.. replace with some wire on/ or some metal clips
Hi from Melbourne Australia. Gate structure looks great but your hinge side triangulation wire is too high - needs to be lowered to where the horizontal brace post hits the straining post. If you leave it that way the straining post will bend like a banana over time.
Nice job Ian where did you order the post rammer from. Cold here in the Vienne at the moment north eastly wind hope to get the potatoes in next week prep the ground ready best wishes to you both .
I got it from HBM Machines which I think is in Holland - here is the link www.hbm-machines.com/fr/p/hbm-pilote-de-pieux-enfonce-pieux-professionnel-4-temps-38-cm3-a-essence-120-mm
Firstly, my son stole the Mowrator for the weekend and secondly, this slope is about 70º so no machine can cut that. The grass is also some sort of elephant bush grass. So only this section we strimmed.
