Installing Forged Internals on my R400 Mini Cooper S Countryman! CP Carrillo!

In today’s video we finally install forged pistons and rods on my 2012 Mini Cooper S Countryman with the R400 turbokit! It’s been long awaited but glad to finally have internal upgrades.
These pistons are custom made as a joint between RPM POWER and CP Carrillo. They are 10:1 CR instead of 10.5:1 like the factory S pistons
They also come with ceramic coating
The Rods are K1 Technology, which are H beam. You need to clearance the bottom of the block bore a bit for them to fit. I chose these knowing I’d have to do that. If you want plug and play you buy the CP Carrillo Rods to go with the pistons.
These K1 rods are apparently discontinued too.
All upgrade parts in this video were purchased from Detroit Tuned! Shoutout Chad Miller for getting it shipped out fast!

Ay brother love the videos. You are living my dream rn ! I just need to save up for parts and get some confidence to do the more technical jobs myself. Love the builds. I like stance cars but performance has always been my go.

Have you thought about dropping a k24 motor on it?

@@Crimson_Strider Nah, no interest in that for this car. I’d have to do an entire Honda AWD system too, no reason to remove the factory AWD system for a FWD setup

i know you have done this more than once but how do you mark/label everything so you are certain on reassembly.? driver side of the motor is a rats nest!

@@zevisgarage Thanks ! What can i do to get the car running right with a downpipe on ? Ive got a half filled engine light on my dash and the cars been slow, I was hoping tuning may allow me to delete the trouble codes and get it running right, does that sound right ? I noticed your downpipe doesnt have o2 sensors, is that something which can be deleted once tuned out ?

@@Blessedlungs my downpipe does have o2 sensors, I use the tune from Mario Palza to remove the CEL and P0420 code. You shouldn’t be getting the half filled engine light, that’s limp mode. You have another issue somewhere

@@zevisgarage hmm okay, Thanks for all the info, I really apreciate it. I have alot to learn I have some error codes Related to Lambda probe after catalytic converter, So i assumed that was related to the o2 sensors on the downpipe. Is that something different ? For Reference, These are my Errors; 2C57: 0x2C57 boost pressure control, plausibility: pressure too low 2CB3: 0x2CB3 Wastegate, control: suspected fault in the wastegate control 2D13: 0x2D13 Lambda probe heating after catalytic converter, function: internal resistance too high 2D22: 0x2D22 Lambda probe after catalytic converter, electrical: line break Any Guidance is greatly appreciated !
