U didn’t upgrade the amp that’s what gives more punch. Honestly the earthquake ones are the only ones that add bass auditing has a way better system plus a sub for the rear

@@zevisgarage you have to get the amplifier that goes with it and the 2ohm speaker not the factory amp and another 4ohm the earthquakes are much much cheaper and actually have a lot more bass can probably sell the Bavarian get the quakes and pocket some money smile

Sway bar link 30-35foot pounds of torque Upper strut bolts (3 bolts removed from the top = 25 foot pounds of torque Center nut that holds tension for the coil = 47 foot pounds of torque. Lastly. Center nut did = 21mm Sway bar is 17mm And the top nuts for the struts = 13mm Wrench or socket.

I really like this video, it is very different from most of the dry info presented in the same dry way in most other how to's. (The shot @12:00 alone is the best part actually). And I don't even own a Mini Cooper. Anyway if i were doing this job, I'd find a real gasket for the oil pan be it cork, neoprene, whatever, because "gasket in a tube" has always been found less than ideal. Naturally automakers all use the tube gaskets as it is a dream come true for them, no gasket to buy for $1 each, just a penny or two for some good old silicone sealer, answering the only question they had when they made it, "will it make it out of warranty? OK, Good enough!" With a true gasket and permatex brown it's hard to go wrong for the next 100,000 compared to tube gasket, always rather hit-or-miss as the miles go by!

Should do a add on description- each turbo, brand , size in - out in mm weight of turbos, if billet parts if they have them and what benifits the manufacturer says along with the for mentioned prices. Have you ever come across the F21m that a small shop in the uk has then took and even upgraded /strengthened and even upgraded lubes and bolts.

Wounder if the cooper d has the same shittty unreadable oil dip stick as the r56 s cooper s. Terrible if not the worts designed placement and how the oil dip stick was manufactured from a wound spring with a plastic cap that loves to break and your oil did stick falls down the pipe for the oil dip stick l.

Very good informative video. I thought it would help my situation where my automatic headlights and wipers don't work as they should. It's like the settings have been coded out when they was working before a battery failure. Now I have to turn them on manually and the wipers would continue wiping with no rain in sight. Anyone got any clues?

I can get the pulley and the friction wheel assembly on and off without lifting the engine off the mount. Does the water pump itself need that extra room to go in or might it fit from underneath with the friction wheel out of the way?

@@underourrock I’ve done both jobs all different ways including not lifting the engine as mentioned. It’s just tight so I prefer to make more room

​@@zevisgarageI definitely had to find the right trick / right shallow tools when working in that area. I used a simple box wrench on the bolts while holding the other two bolts with the wedged screwdriver. This let me loosen all the bolts before taking it off. The tensioner was annoying, but not as much work as the engine mounts. I don't trust holding the engine with just a jack. If I'm going to lift the engine, it's with a engine bay spanning hoist bar and the jack is backup.

I thought that for a Turbo charger replacement you had to put it « Front Service » mode. Take off the whole front bumper, grill, and tires. But I see that you were able to get turbo and manifold? Off without taking the front off. How long, how much did you pay for parts, and how much would that cost at the stealership? If you know of course. I live near San Francisco CA. Do you have any mechanic contacts that will save me some dough and could advise on easy upgrades? Thanks.

@@arturothecook most people prefer to put it into service mode for more room but isn’t needed, especially with a stock turbo. No need to remove tires and all. This is a full after market kit, the dealer would never install this, you would need a private shop. I do recommend getting the R300 turbocharger and an upgraded intercooler, and a tune from Mario Palza. If you end up in socal drop it off at his place and he can sort you with what you need

@@zevisgarage I need to replace the stock that Mini of Concord CA. reported as bad and in need to replace but I almost got a heart attach when they told me that it would be 10K to do it!!! Yet, I was not feeling comfortable with going full front disassembly mode. If it can be done without it. I will get the mechanic friend to help me replace it. He's work in a couple of our Mercedes-B cars before. I reviewed another YT video showing the hole process in detail almost bolt by bolt and got a little discourage that it required so many parts taking off. Thanks for your videos. Very educational and encouraging to venture on some of the easy ones. What OBD2 scanner do you use? or which one would you recommend for a non-mechanicly gifted and inexperience mini owner?

What a waste of time. Just start the car, switch on all your lights including fog lights and then get out and see what's not working. If you park against a light wall at the back, you can even see the brake & reversing lights without help

man you make this look so much easier than other people thank god. im about to grab a new turbo how long did this take you? also what size are the crush washers? i could order them off ecs or whatevers in their turbo install kid but if i can just go get some ill do that

@@jummynewtron I usually just go to the dealer for the crush washers as I get a discount. It takes me on average 3 hours to do the turbo but expect at least double that for your first time

S engine: 10.5:1 CR pistons 37.8mm turbo inducer JCW engine: 10.0:1 CR Pistons 40.9mm turbo inducer different exhaust manifold Both engines are cast pistons and rods, JCW isn't really any stronger

How much power do you think it was making in this videos with no controller ? I would honestly be more than happy with this turnout. No need to up the boost if the internals are reliable at that hp for me personally. Also how much did you spend on this ? I did some research and I found the kit for 4.3k

@@morechuckyblood the R400TS is around that 4500 range. The original R400 kit like the one I have is around 7k new if you pay full price. It definitely made nice power but shortly after filming I turned down the boost to make sure stock internals would survive. I’m pretty sure it would last at the 18ish psi I was targeting before. As of about a month ago I’ve now forged the engine and am almost done with break in, about 1 more week before I turn the boost up

Ive got a half filled engine light on my dash and the cars been slow, I was hoping tuning may allow me to delete the trouble codes and get it running right, does that sound right ? I noticed your downpipe doesnt have o2 sensors, is that something which can be deleted once tuned out ?

@@Blessedlungs my downpipe does have o2 sensors, I use the tune from Mario Palza to remove the CEL and P0420 code. You shouldn’t be getting the half filled engine light, that’s limp mode. You have another issue somewhere

I have alot to learn I have some error codes Related to Lambda probe after catalytic converter, So i assumed that was related to the o2 sensors on the downpipe. Is that something different ? For Reference, These are my Errors; 2C57: 0x2C57 boost pressure control, plausibility: pressure too low 2CB3: 0x2CB3 Wastegate, control: suspected fault in the wastegate control 2D13: 0x2D13 Lambda probe heating after catalytic converter, function: internal resistance too high 2D22: 0x2D22 Lambda probe after catalytic converter, electrical: line break Any Guidance is greatly appreciated !

Resetting the oil change interval, if not the car will complain that it still needs an oil change

If you replace any lights with LEDs (R56) you'll get a warning because the lack of load fools the computer into thinking the light has burned out.

My car wont start without a jump . Among other things can that b part of a footwheel module bc everything else is good ? Thank you .ugh i already paid 2 x to get my module unbricked . Its been over a year and they obviously are not interested in fixing the module recall .im about to picket at mini untill they agree to replace it with a refurbished one . Why is no one suing :(
