Great company!! I ordered my fixed knot. 24 rolls delivered 2 weeks earlier than expected. Sent a question to the fence pros. Received a phone call from a real person within about 1/2 hr..answered all my questions about installation.. but they didn’t offer to film a video putting my fence up. . But other than that absolutely great customer service

Thank-you for the wonderful comment. Our guys pride themselves with great service. We're glad you were able to get all your questions answered. If anything else happens to pop up you know how to get in contact with us. You're lucky we spared you a film day, they are long... but fun! Always a good time with The Fence Pros.

Great video. One question, why is the knot that you use on the post side different than the knot on the insulator side? is it because you want the slip knot on the post side?

Do you prefer the gripple or the ratchet type? And can the gripple be re-tensioned when the line sags a bit?
@TheKajunkat

The gripple can be re tensioned. just put the tool back on and tighten back up. personally, I like the ratchets. No other reason than that they seem stronger and you can tighten them without an expensive tool that I don't carry regularly on the SXS. I buy the ones that have the square drive built into the axle so I can use the forked tensioning tool or just a wrench/pliers. They are also reusable and I have never had one fail, even after a bull decided he needed to be in every pasture except where we wanted him. We both agreed that he would be better off at McDonald's.

Why are you running hot wire on the OUTSIDE of the fence line?

In what situation would you use, and which situation would you not use, a tensioning spring?
@BekaertFencing
@BekaertFencing 2 года назад
Van, our electric fence wire expert says he rarely uses tensioning springs. They are gauges for measuring tension and not actual springs, proper tension for HT Smooth wire is 200 pounds. High quality and properly tensioned High Tensile wire has elasticity so the springs are not needed. The exception is if he is installing in a problematic/wooded area on a short run, he will sometimes use them in this situation, combined with a slight under tensioning of the fence as well to allow for as much flexibility as possible for tree/limbs falls on the fence.

@@BekaertFencing I assume the gripple passes electricity then?

some people use one spring if they don't have a tensioning gauge. You tighten the wire with the spring first and then tighten the other strand to have the same amount of "give" as the spring one. Different strokes for different folks

Are you using standard chain link fence posts for you H-braces or are they the sch 40 galvanized ones?
@BekaertFencing

Do you sell the strainers with the knobs?

We do not sell the strainers.

why don't you use a termination knot on both sides and not only on the post
@TheKajunkat
@TheKajunkat Год назад
you only need the termination knot (new Zealand knot) where the wire cannot rotate. Such as when tying to a post. The new zealand knot wraps in opposite directions and prevents the knot from binding and un wrapping when put under tension. You could use it everywhere but it takes a little longer to tie.
