Great install! I mounted the bolts opposite of the video and used a 7/32 drill bit to make it easier to push the bolt from the inside of the bumper. The washers didn’t fit under the front three mounting holes because they were too close to the curve of the lip on mine and I believe the newer version have 3M in the center too.
Going to be installing one of these today on my car and I’m a bit nervous but this video is super helpful. Really appreciate the tip to put the bolts/nuts the opposite way!
That looks amazing!!! I have some questions... 1. The 2 extra clips... I couldn't tell... Are the new bolts holding the shields in correctly now? Ie. Did the bolts completely replace those clips? 2. Would shorter bolts prevent the need to cut the bumper piece? Those bolts looked much longer than needed.
Yes, the bolts replaced the 2 clips and it is even more secure with the bolts. Shorter bolts would help, the provided ones were indeed way long. I still think you'd have to trim a little bit of that bumper plastic shroud, because it butts up against the nuts/bolt ends.
My 19yo, who is sometimes more practical than I expect (for being 19), asked, "but why" I said, "bumper condom... All your scuffs will go to the lip, and for $225, it's easily replaceable... Plus, it looks amazing" 🤣
