The comment about the slab being a bit hollow or soft.....hmmmm. Doubt hollow, probably just soft with the rubbish 25Mpa thinned out concrete they use these days. 32Mpa better. I would want those inserts in hard solid concrete all the way....for obvious reasons. Min is usually around 4 inches. I would also want the holes to not break through the bottom of the concrete. That can introduce spalling via moisture to the concrete and corrosion to the inserts. Not trying to take away anyone's enjoyment, but there are real considerations other than "it's just concrete". Extra reo and a thicker section/beam of concrete under the hoist base area is also a great idea. One should also have a reo bar cutter drill (tungsten/carbide tipped) in case the steel bar is in the way of one of the holes. The normal concrete drill with not cut through them.

Congratulations on your hoist, I’d never heard of HAPP until now, I was thinking of purchasing a Tuff Lift, I think they were 4.5 ton rated, taller, but lift very high, I’ll definitely check out HAPP 👍

Hi all, I didn’t watch all of this video but wanted to warn people what happened to my Happ. Bought a 2 post clear floor new in Jan 2019 Had it installed by the Happ team recommended installers were Statewide Hoist services in Murrarie Qld....I’m not blaming them. Not 4 months had passed and my slave side lower hose blew-oil everywhere...cuinthent Worked out fairly quickly that the connection at the pipe journal was mediocre at best. After talking to a few people that know stuff I reconnected and tightened the fruit out of it 2 months after that the slave side ram seal decided to leave it’s job And Main go up switch stopped working Was not having a good run. Being a cool and calm person I rang Happ asking about wth? and got the usual “that’s not covered under warranty” Anyway Removed ram Sent to hydraulic guru to be re-sealed Only $150 ish later. Installed the ram ..put oil in sweet as It is now April 2021 I’ve had no problems since then until 2 weeks ago the main drive side blew the hose exactly where the slave side blew cuinthent My point is tighten the hell out of both lower hose junctions even if the other people install your hoist. Cheers.
