When the thermostat was doing the software update with the dots going around the display it reminded me playing Snake on my old Nokia cell phones in the early 2000s.
Nic great video. I'm a licensed HVAC technician. And I think you might want start career In HVAC. In the future. It is to you to make that type decision for your own future Anyhow those who do not know. You can use standard 24 volt thermostat on any type of heater or air conditioner. Even the one Nic showed in the video. As long as you have the correct parts to do so. You need the following items: For three phase (480v) you need a three phase 24 volt coil contactor or For two phase (208v,240v,277v) you need a two phase 24 volt coil contactor or For single phase (120v) you need a single phase 24 volt coil contactor 24 volt transformer. Junction box to put everything inside 18 gauge thermostat wire And 12 gauge wire Once you learn how these parts go together you can start installing them. Which you can find additional installation instructions on RU-vid. My last house. I did it with a window air conditioner. Due to it got always got too cold in the room, without a better thermostat.
My Lennox smart thermostat has a sensor on the front that wakes up from sleep when you approach it so that’s probably the same mechanic on this one too
Nice change over If you are thinking on doing other room's when you have the front of heaters of clean out the dust and dog hairs,I had storage heaters no animals and the heaters still pulled in mass dust over the year, then it stops bad dust burning smells.
I bought these, however when I went to install, there was another wire in the back of my dial thermostat. Not black, not red, or colored. It’s more a copperish wire. Is that a grounding wire? Where would I attach that to the new one?
@@VincentFiorucci if it's the only one in the box it can be just pushed to the back or if it's spliced onto others in a pigtail splice it could other also be pushed back or taken off with the other two kept together and caped
