An alternative to securing the cladding to timber battens is Rivet nuts into the metal forms, then fasten the cladding via set screws or bolts into the Rivet nuts

The Cladding at the side is a good solution

Great idea to go into the sides of the ribs - good trade-off between thickness of insulation and available interior height.

Hey! Why didn't you just screw right into the structure with self tapping screws instead of making all these battens?

What was the purpose of the battens? Couldn't you have just used the ribs to install your cladding and put perpendicular battens between the ribs for support?
