Installing S550 Convertible Mustang GT Seats in a 2003 SN95 New Edge Mustang (Seat Swap)

In this video, I installed S550 mustang seats in my 03 mustang. This is a must to any old sn95 body. Transformation is incredible, the car looks and feels ten times better, the seats are elegant and it upscaled the interior by a mile. I also enabled the cooling function in Part 2 of the video series.

I just took the seat tracks off of the S197 seats and measured the SN95 frames for hole placement on the newer seats. I drilled holes on the seat frames of the S197 seats and bolted the SN95 tracks to the new seats. The power harness hooked right up to the old tracks. Very easy

bought some 2016 seats with heated and cooled could I get some links on the wire diagram I don’t plan on wiring up the cooled heated just need power for the seat adjustments

I recommend unplugging the airbag on the bottom of the seat before wiring it up. Power is: Violet & Red wire Ground is: Black and Blue www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/base-cloth-seats-to-premium-ac-heated-leather.100179/

I have a question as far as power seating goes, were you able to keep the button functions on the s550 seats?

Yes, all buttons on side are functioning as expected.

As others said I used new edge bracket and power switches on 05+ seats it makes the comfortable cause sn95 are the worst

I have a 2002 GT and none of my seats look like the ones you pulled out. Mine look like retro style old school muscle car leather seats from the late 1960s, but with early 2000s technology. They are the 8 way power leather seats. The back support section of the seat is much shorter than most other car seats and the head rest doesn't even reach my head. They are very uncomfortable and they suck for long drives.

yep. I have a 2003 and have hated the seats since new. Got a pair of 2020 buckets to replace them. Like everyone who gets them says, they are the best.. side bolsters... long drives.... awesome.

I'm working on doing this seat swap now. What rims are those? And size?

They are Aodhan DS02 in bronze and size is 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 with +22 offset. Aodhan has many other wheels too that actually fit our stang without spacers.

Direct bolt on, no. U will either need to move tracks of your old seat or make brackets.

I know this is about a year or so old but which wires are ground and which are power? Trying to install in a fox body and only want the seats to move back/forth/up/down

You should sell the bracket adapters on ebay or something. I know I would be interested as I cannot weld good to save my own life.

I was wondering the same. Back in the day I swapped my fox body's stock tracks onto a Sparco Torino and it worked like a charm. Did you try it with the stock tracks?

I’m not selling bracket for safety reasons. I got it from Home Depot, they have the steel by all the bolts. It’s 3/16” thick.

@@AmelsGarage thank you so much I appreciate the help, me and my dad hooked up one seat to our new edge mustang and we had trouble with the electrical when we used the source of power from the cigar thingy we blew the fuse to that I’m not sure how many volts it takes to power the seat do you by any chance happen to know ?

Your mustang should be prewired for electrical seats, use the power from there. If you don’t have a plug under the seat you will need to run power from battery direct. Cigarette lighter wire might not be up to the gauge. I’m using the power under the seat to run it, i’m using power from traction to run a switch only for my cooled seats. Relay switch uses small amount of power.
