great job, I'm an alloy tig welder by trade and i would still use pop rivets on new rocker panels for a diy job. I'm planning on replacing my jeep rocker panels soon. cheers
I just found these last night and this is the first video that doesn't make it seem harder than it is. I have a low mileage 2002 Jeep liberty and the only thing is those rotten rockers. I don't need perfect. I just needed "Goodenuff" this was perfect! Thanks!
Hello CTMadModz. A big thank you to posting this Jeep Liberty rocker panel replacement. I followed your steps and riveted on the panels Turned out great and saved a whack of cash from avoiding the body shop. Ordered from BPS as suggested. Keep posting the very helpful videos. Love the Liberty.
Thanks for watching, I made this video because there was none out there talking about these and I see a lot of libertys with bad rockers. I have the Liberty to my brother in law and he enjoys it a lot.
Thanks for doing this video. I bought those slip ons last year for my 06 Lib and could not find any video on how to install until I found yours. Great job. Now I can follow your lead. I have a welder so I think I'll do it that way and paint it black to match the trim. 👍👍👍
I just picked up a 2007 Liberty last Tuesday, it also has the bad rocker panels, but that's common in the upper Midwest (on the Illinois-Wisconsin border), the states like to use a lot of Salt on the roads in the winter. Saw some rocker panels, not sure which company but were slip-on type and relatively cheap. After seeing what you did that's exactly what I've been thinking, just pop riveting them on and leave it at that. I'm impressed with what you've ended up with and will be doing the same thing myself probably in the next week or two.
@@NoName-bf6ty I thought about just drilling new holes but ended up leaving it the way it is. I gave the Jeep to my brother in law and he uses it for door dash. I imagine you could get some grip tape like they use on skateboards and put that on there for protection 😎
Nice job! I recently found out about these and was curious about how they’d look. I plan on installing them on my Cherokee XJ. I’m no paint and body guy either 😂
You could totally make them fit better, you just need to spend some time cutting out the old rockers and they pretty much slip right on. I think they look great 🤷🏻♂️
Got an 05 lib for a beater and just ordered these slip on style rockers. I have a welder and was kinda thinking about welding them. But im like hold the phone... why not just rivet them? And legit, heres a vid of you doing it. 🎉
@CTMadModz my rockers are pretty much non existent on vehicle and spread all over gods green earth 🌎 🙏. Maybe alittle on my parents driveway when I was doing the balljoints. I'm making sure I spread lots of layers of gooey love coating in hopes and prayers they hold for 1+2 years
Will these work for a 2004 Liberty with same shitty rockers? Great Video....I just need em better than rust!! Wondering what size pop rivets and type gun/tool used as well. How about full list of materials and tools used??
These should fit an 04 fine. 2002 through 2007 are basically the same, renegades may have different attachments under there for the rock sliders. If it were me, I'd use a 3/16" pop rivet. I'd just get the tool and rivets from harbor freight.
Because you would have to cut them out and weld them in… it’s actually a huge job and I’m no paint and body guy. There would be lots of trimming and fitting… then you would have to weld it in and clean everything up with body filler and paint it. The slip on version is an easy alternative to that.
