When you buy your first Samurai often times it will not come with a soft top. You may have no clue about the parts needed or the steps to correctly install a soft top. This video will show you everything you need to know! Thanks man. I bought a "pile of samurai" (lots of assembly required). Put an engine in it, now I'm doing the finishing touches like this. Your vids have helped a bunch.

Great video. My granddad's samurai was originally a soft top and after few years of using and a few replacement soft tops later he decided to change it into a hard top. Bits of the soft top such as the rusted out doors and windshield still remain. Now I'm slowly fixing her up. Currently fixing the leaky fuel tank.

Yeah hell yeah!!! I run half top. Which is a old shunken sprint top with back cut off . Been looking for videos of top put on was nothing you did good . Stay safe

FINALLY!!! Thank you! Someone put a list of needed parts together for this. My Sammy came with the removable hard-top, and I want to add the soft top, but NO ONE out there gives a list of parts to do this. Again, thanks!

its easier to have the hoop up and over the roll bar and then pull to the rear first before sliding in the channel

Your videos are a lifesaver! may I ask, what wheel specs do you run on your samurais? I just bought one (stock) and I'm looking to get a second set of wheels for winters, and every wheel shop is telling me they can't sell me anything because the offset/backspacing would cause problems

I love your channel. Sub'd. If I was to make my own out of conduit from a hardware store, what diameter conduit do you recommend? oh, and do you remove the plastic front garnish to put a hard top on? Thanks!

If it is below 70° F I put a space heater in the back of my Sammy & top snaps into place nice & easy. Also the slider channels can be adjusted, sometimes they can be too tight or too loose. I like to put the lube on the female part of the snap, any way love your channel keep up the good work..... smok'em if ya gottem

Hey! Love the channel and your site. I recently picked up an 87 Samurai (I had an 88 as my first car eons ago). The top needs to be replaced. Currently it has a discontinued Bestop Sunport (2 piece) top with the targa roof that had the channel piece added to the targa bar. In replacing my top if I opt for a 1 piece, do I need to remove that channel strip, or will it fit over it? Thanks!

Buena demostración de como poner la capota del Samu. Yo me subo a la parte de atrás y de ahí pongo la parte delantera y meto los laterales de pie empujando hacia abajo (buena idea la del jabón, lo probaré) y, sin salir del auto, pongo la varilla trasera, luego ya salgo y pongo todos los botones y hasta me subo al parachoques para estirar la capota, porque cómo carajo cuesta poner todos los botones laterales y traseros!! :D

qué tan seguro es el tema de la capota, tiene algún tipo de seguro interno, o cualquiera puede llegar y sacártela? pensando en tener dejar el jeep en la calle, es lo único que me frena a adquirir uno

@@Nightteare Para sacar toda la capota hay que abrir las puertas del Suzy y hay que molestarse bastante. Lo más fácil es que te la abran por las cremalleras de atrás y te quiten lo que tengas atrás, si lo dejas en un barrio chungo claro. Lo normal es respetar los bienes ajenos. Y lo más fácil es que si lo dejas debajo de ventanas de edificios, el fumador de turno se pegue la gracia de tirar la colilla y caer en el techo de tu capota, dejándote un hermoso agujero. Lo ideal es meterlo a un garaje y a disfrutar de quitar la capota en verano. :)

My Samurai doesn’t have that groove at the back of Targa bar. Where can I find the gasket or watchmacallit!? It’s currently sporting a full Bimini top. Needs a soft top for a dusty new job.
