The only thing i would suggest is , when mounting the compressor to the plate , i would wrap those 3 or 4 bolts with teflon tape. When those ARB compressors run they vibrate alot, which over time can cause the mounting bolts to loosen . So i have found adding teflon tape keeps them tight. Just a friendly suggestion 👍
I myself use the Morrflate system with my 10lb C02 tank. I have found that it takes about 30-45 seconds to stabilize the pressure on all four tires using the included pressure gauge for both inflation or deflation. The Kraken looks great, but it would be nice if they included an inline gauge on the operation plate, as well as an easy deflate switch as well so one could stop during the inflation/deflation to check approximate pressure. Then when it’s close to desired pressure then wait 30 seconds to stabilize after pausing, and adjust as needed for final tweaks to the pressure.
When epic first featured the Accessory JK Products air-up system we got one! Wish the purge button was available with it. But in all it’s such a great idea on both companies.
Regarding airing down, you actually can with this system, put the air chuck on each tire, but do NOT connect to the quick connect on the Kracken. Tires deflate quickly, and use your TPMS monitor system to deflate to your pressure desired.
its a nice kit. I did however make my own dual tire inflation for much less that shuts off when your desired pressure is reached. Purchased a regulator , a splitter, hose and fittings from crappy tire for 100 cdn.
That's what I've been thinking, great idea. That way you can really walk away and forget about it. But maybe stick around in the area just to make sure nothing goes awry. I'm going to do this to mine
Doesn’t seem like it would be difficult to fit it to a JK, some modifications to mounting plate, adapt and overcome. E-torx: external torx, good guess 😊 Thanks for the review, install, and for supporting small companies.
Great share. Been thinking of going from my Viair to the ARB with Kraken in the JLUR. Wife approved...saves trunk space;) QUESTION, why not connect to the existing JL Aux switches with the 40A fuse?
Don't get me wrong I love the idea of this Kraken setup but I am 100% happy with the arb dual and the speedflate 4x setup. With the kraken setup, do you just have to manually air down each tire? Obviously I know you have the teraflex nomad's with their awfully convenient air down valve, but the question is mainly for someone without that specific wheel.
I like the look of this system. Got a question, we're in Australia. would the mounting plate fit under our driver's seat? Our driver's seat is your passenger seat. We drive on the other side of the road. Cheers.
Why would you want the compressor inside though? I have my arb dual mounted to the bedside. Also allows me to fill a gladiator behind me with my speed flate 4 way system.
Hi, do you know the brand of the plastic push to connect ?. I have fitted the same (direct fitting to the ARB) but the air pipe keep blowing, I think it can't hold the heat and pressure. So ai go back to the original fitting with the ARB metal connector, then steal breaded hose then ARB, then ARB cuppler. I need the plastic fitting as it's much better to work with.
Great video. I’d ignore all the hobos that think innovation and convenience are not worth paying for. Just ignore them and focus on the value the product provides. If they can’t afford $300 they probably should be worried about feeding their kids and not installing a $600 air compressor on their rig.
I like it, but man $305 for a few hoses and a couple mounting plates is too steep for me. You have to buy compressor separately. I’d be a buyer for around $75 and they can keep the bag and sticker. 🤷♂️
Maybe you can start your own Chinese company that rips off all of the engineering and design that goes into putting a system together like this and then sell it for $75. You’d make a fortune with the $1 profit you made from each kit sold.
