I just got one and I can't lie this Mp5 12v radio is awesome it does everything to b so cheap i might just have to order another one for the hell of it😂
Hot tip - Loose connections can cause wires to heat up and melt. Crimping wires helps prevent that. Get a wire crimper + a box of butt crimps to make a quick & solid connection.
Yes you’re right, this style connector is a fast way to make sure everything works and they’re reliable if you use the right size and check ensure the wires are twisted ahead of time. For a more permanent solution a butt conductor is a good one!
These stereos are standard ios connections. So a mazda to iso harness adapter which is cheap saves all the messing with wiring. Great video though. I bought one myself although won't mirror with my phone, and I'm not brave enough to upgrade the firmware until I find information on that...
Now that’s something I didn’t know about the harness! Thanks for that info. I haven’t updated the firmware on mine either, but I believe it won’t mirror an iPhone screen which is what I have. If you update it let us know how it goes!
that means that, when you wired it up, you connected what should have been a constant 12v supply to your ignition power, meaning it only has power when your key in on. change that and it'll fix the problem. I just got it installed in my truck and had the same problem.
@@CashedOutCars super. How long ago was that - still working? One question about the bluetooth: are you using Android or Apple, and how is the microphone quality - any complaints from people on the other end? Thanks
A little over a year ago at this point, no problems yet! Apple, I don’t use the mic a ton so I can’t give you a great answer on that. The Bluetooth works well
To check and make sure its not the head unit connect the red wire (ACC) to the yellow wires(12v) which will give the radio constant power, it should switch on once you plug the harness up to the car. If it powers on disconnect and check the car harness where the red wire connects.
Hey question that has nothing to do with your specific touch screen. I bought one from amazon about $150 and it was pretty much plug n play, but for some reason when I play music from spotify nothing is going through the speakers at all, but when I get a call I can hear them throughout the car. Any idea what could be the issue?
This may sound like a silly suggestion, but make sure the volume is up on your phone and that it’s properly paired to your radio. I’d also try playing audio from another app and seeing if anything comes through. Since sound is coming through your car it sounds like the radio is wired correctly. Good luck!
@@CashedOutCars So turns out I had to unplug one of the wire harness I plugged and everything worked. Now my problems are these: 1) when I connect spotify to my google maps and I click the little spotify option I keep seeing "cannot connect to spotify" or when I play spotify and then open up maps the music stops. 2) I cannot seem to pair my android auto APK to my phone android auto, I'm wondering if it's an issue with the software version. 3) When I play music on my phone through bluetooth and put it to max volume it still doesn't play anything.
Spoiler!! : Before taking the new unit out of its box, he says he's going to take the unit out of its box. 😐 He also does it for cutting a wire, switching the unit on, etc, etc. 🙄
🤦🏼♂️ @@CashedOutCars If you're still posting videos on here, do you still waste a bizarre amount of time on cutting open packaging, showing us the cardboard box, and other inane activity?
UPDATE: The radio already cut out. That didn't last long. I'll have a followup video posted once I figure out what went wrong. I can connect to bluetooth to the unit, but the unit's screen will not turn on and I can no longer get any sound from my speakers... To be continued
You think it might be a connection problem with the twist caps 😂😂😂😂😂 I’ve done installations since the 80s never saw such craziness and I’ve seen a lot you go buddy
Its saying i need a app to use bluetooth?? What app do you have? Also, how do you get your phone to mirror? So weird, says it does but it wont. Any ideas
