Installing the Evenflo Revolve 360 Car Seat Using LATCH - Get it right!

The proper use of car seats is very important in preventing injuries if you are in a crash. In this video, we cover the proper installation and use of the Evenflo Revolve car seat using the lower anchors and tether, or LATCH system. If you're unsure whether your car seat is installed correctly, find a car seat tech to have it checked. In Texas, visit BuckleUp.tamu.edu to find a tech near you. 0:20 Weight and height limits for rear-facing and forward-facing use
0:35 ALWAYS use the tether when installing this car seat
0:57 Make sure the seating position in your vehicle has a tether anchor
1:10 Understanding LATCH limit on this car seat
1:43 If your child weighs more than 35 pounds in rear-facing mode or 40 pounds in forward-facing mode, you must install with the seat belt and tether, not LATCH
1:58 Rotate the car seat to remove it from the base
2:11 Line up the arrows on seat and base to remove
2:49 Route tether and attach, but don't tighten it yet
3:30 Attach lower anchor connectors to anchor bars in your vehicle
3:40 Open Belt Lock and pull all the slack out of your lower anchor strap
3:51 Close the Belt Lock. Make sure the indicator turns from red to green.
4:10 Check for movement to make sure it is installed tightly
4:20 Pull tether strap last to tighten
4:30 Line up the arrows to place seat back onto base and rotate it into the position for travel. The seat lock indicator will turn green once the seat is locked into place
4:53 Check for appropriate recline and adjust as needed
5:16 Make sure the seat is ALWAYS in a locked position, even when baby is not in it

Great video. Specially the info about the lower anchors. I wonder if that applies to any car seat. I’m gonna look it up now. My other son weighs more than 40 pounds and we are using the lower anchors on his car seat (different brand). Thank you!

Yes, most heavier car seats will have lower anchor limits. The lower anchor bars in your vehicle are only designed to handle 65 pounds (both car seat and child weight combined), so they do the math and figure out how much the child can weigh using this installation method. Once it's outgrown, you must switch to using the seat belt for installing the car seat. If there's a limit, it will be by the installation diagrams on the car seat where it shows LATCH installation.

Should the seat belt be threaded through the blue area? I noticed yours was not. Also my base does not move but with pressure I can make my seat move back and forth inside the base. Is anyone else’s like that?

When you're installing this car seat with the LATCH system, you should not use the seat belt - it's one or the other, but not both together. I have a question guys do you guys car seat wobbles when past by a hole or something bumpy .? Like in a rocking motion side to side..??

The car seat should not wobble. We recommend getting your installation checked by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. You can find one in your area by clicking on the "Find a Tech" link at cert.safekids.org

Does the recline position only allow for the ball to reach the middle for the gray and black zone? If my kid is more than 20lbs should the ball be further to the left (in the black zone)?

Yes, I believe they want the child to be more upright if they're over 20 pounds. But to be sure, it's always best to check with the manufacturer themselves. They have a customer service line and can answer any questions you have.

If it’s in the middle of black and white (like you have) is that considered okay position for a child Up to 40lbs. I can’t seem to figure out how to get it REALLY in the black zone. I have it fully in the upright position

Sorry for the late reply! I hope you found the answer you needed, but we always recommend bringing specific car seat installation questions directly to the manufacturer (Evenflo in this case). They have technicians on hand that can help you get their seat installed correctly in your vehicle. You may also choose to get your car seat checked locally by a certified technician. Search for a CPST in your area by clicking on "find a tech" at cert.safekids.org.

Thanks for watching! You should only pick one method (lower anchors OR seat belt), not both at the same time, as they are not designed to be used together (think contacts and glasses). Using the seat belt is the preferred method per the Evenflo manual. Regardless of which method you use, don't forget to always use the tether!
