You mounted it too far back on the top rail. Now your coated cable rubs the lip end of the top rail once the ramp drops below horizontal, which will rub the coating off the SS cable over time. The square stock spring tubes need to be mounted as close to the rear of the top rail as possible.

That's why they provide a S hook to adjust your tension BEFORE you drill a bunch of unnecessary holes in your gate ??? DUAH !!!
