#ilovervlife #haloview #backupcamera Backup cameras are a great tool for any RV. A backup camera provides a view of the back of the RV so the driver can see obstacles when backing into a camping spot or negotiating a parking lot. Another added benefit having a view of traffic behind the RV when traveling down the road. We installed the Haloview Handy 7 providing super clear and very stable video. And best yet, the entire installation took less than 30 minutes with no wiring and no drilling.
Our thanks to Haloview providing this backup camera system for this video review.

It is easy to install but now you have to climb up and down the ladder to get to the camera before and after every day’s driving. And hope you don’t forget! Kind of like pay me now or pay me later. I prefer the Haloview RD7 with four cameras that I have permanently installed. I have had issues with my cameras but their customer support has been outstanding.

Hi Jerry. Based on your video, I purchased the Haloview Handy7. Wow! It is even easier than you show. It paired just by turning on the camera. The huge monitor is crystal clear. I bought it because I just acquired a gooseneck trailer for transporting construction equipment. Using this system I can put the trailer on the ball, first try every time!!! I do need help on something. I bought a 2nd camera. Do you have a video or will you make a quick video for adding one or more additional cameras, pairing them and then setting up the screen for multiple camera views? Thanks from San Antonio, TX.

@iLoveRVlife
@iLoveRVlife 3 года назад
Hi Richard. No complaints. These cameras and monitor have been working out well. Very clear. No dropped frames. The big difference with our extended length is the amplifier at the front of 5th wheel extending the range of the rear camera. One other note. To record the video, we used a cheap micro SD card. Mistake. This is high definition video and needs a high speed card to record. Replacing with a better card was a simple fix.

Authur, the folks at Haloview shared the following. “One cycle is a full charge to complete discharge. After 500 cycles, the batteries still maintains 80% of its original capacity. They don't recommend users dismantling and replacing the battery. They can arrange replacement of the camera and battery set if it is in 1 year warranty.

I am looking for a camera to mount inside my horse trailer, and the length from the receiver inside the truck to the inside of the trailer where the horses are will be about 40 feet - it is a very long trailer. If this camera system is limited to 34 feet as someone mentioned, it probably would not work. Any chance you can try your system at 40 feet for me? Thanks, GREAT video!

@@iLoveRVlife Sorry but that involves a 35 foot cable - I want to go 100% digital, can't run a cable from the horse compartment to the truck cab.
@iLoveRVlife
@iLoveRVlife 3 года назад
Understand. The issue will be the limitation with the wireless connection. Maybe some good news though. If you’ll be using more for backup vs. as a digital wireless rear view mirror, it should make the distance. The 34’ length is more for traveling down the road where you can experience video frame drop out at high speeds. One other tip. On the back of the trailer, if you can place the camera near the top edge where the antenna will be extended above the roof, you’ll have less metal impacting the signal back to the cab of the truck. Last point. On the RD7 we used, we aren’t running a cable to the truck. The cable runs from back of trailer to front near the pin. Grab power from a marker light and that’s done. Still wireless from cap to trailer. Just a few options.
@ECSpeed-uh3tf
@ECSpeed-uh3tf 3 года назад
It's only a issue if you want to use if for a rear view camera going down the road at 70mph. Then it will just skip some frames If you need it to see behind you backing up - no problem at all. I put it behind a 40' cattle trailer.
@ckaltizer
@ckaltizer 3 года назад
Great video, Jerry! We have a 30ft Winnebago travel trailer and I'm trying to decide if I should go with the RD7 for the signal amplifier or would this one provide a strong enough signal? Tell Josh, Go Gators! ;)
@luisgravano6123
@luisgravano6123 3 года назад
30ft trailer plus pickup truck, then the total distance from rear camera to monitor could be over 33ft. So RD7 is the more suitable model for you as it has a TX-Box to strengthen the wireless signal. You don't need to worry about signal loss on the road. And you can buy a handy camera to work with RD7 for hitching.
@ckaltizer

That would be the trick. I think the idea was for something simple, minimal effort to install and no external wiring needs. With that, the product fits that niche. But, if someone was creative a small 12V DC panel could be placed on the roof and connected to the charge port.
