That is the most amazing sink I've ever seen. And now I have to go to my kitchen and use my dumb old sink that does nothing. But on the positive side it's better than going to a well and hauling water back in a bucket.

The island against the wall makes the perfect coffee/tea station. Shelves above to hold cups and canisters for coffee and teas. The kitchen is coming together. Hint. Live with color of wood for awhile, always time to change co!or after the kitchen is decorated. Absolutely love the highly functioning sink setup. Made for produce prep.

The island is perfect. Don't change it. It gives a nice warm/darker color to the kitchen and a "wood atmosphere". I believes with the dark oak beam you have in the middle it should fit very well, because they both are dark wood colored. Keep it like that! Your kitchen is looking great. I am happy you focused more on the renovation and building/setting of the kitchen this time. It is my favorite subject in your videos.

The kitchen cabinets and appliances look better than I imagined they would! And to think what that part of the house looked like when you first started demolition. I personally think that the island looks great! The different color does not clash with the kitchen cabinets at all. Placing it against the wall is just fine. I think I saw a smile on Joana's face when you were dry fitting the kitchen sink... lol

I like the rolling cabinet. It is a nice contrast to the rest of the kitchen and the drawers are going to be very useful. The kitchen is just lovely. Maybe yo I can show a before and after with the roof falling in. What a difference. 😊

I like the red cart in the kitchen. To me, a home looks better if everything doesn’t exactly match. That way it looks more curated and collected over time. But your right, you could sand it, or at least sand the top surface to make it blonde like the other wood, and leave it 2 toned. Either way, the kitchen is adorable! That sink is to die for!❤️🤗🐝

I like the island the way it is too. It is OK to have 2 different colors of wood in the same room. It does add to the warmth. It is great that it can be moved around according to your needs. Great job on the kitchen! I bet you can't wait to cook in such a spacious place!

OMG, am so jealous of your kitchen sink, it is something on another level for me. Your island looks great against the wall. Live with it for a few months, then change or adapt as you feel the need. My only criticism is the small size of your kitchen units. You are blessed with a large area so I cannot fully understand why you are only using one small area of your kitchen room? But it is your choice, you obviously know what you are doing. Overall, a beautiful job well done. Congratulations 🎉

The wooden island looks great. For a more modern look, it would also look good in the same gray tone as your cupboards.

Floating shelves on the empty wall with some rustic wood could add to the charm of the home.

Diego: If you want to sand the top of the island,then stain it the same colour of the coun- ter and then paint the rest of the Island the same colour as the cupboards! Otherwise just leave it as it is-it looks good!😊

Trust yourselves with the finishes of your kitchen. You have already created a very unique room,which is beautiful. Wait until the adjoining rooms are complete, then decide on the positioning and coloring of the island. Trust your instincts, only you will be able to determine what you like the best. It take a year or two, even three to design spaces to your personal needs and tastes.

Sand that island top and tone to match the countertops, then paint the rest to match your cabinet color.

First off, your kitchen is looking amazing! You must be so proud and pleased with what your hard work is accompolishing. Cooking is gonna be such a pleasant experience. 🥘 The island looks great and it will be very useful. To incorporate it’s wood tone more into the kitchen, purchase kitchen rugs and wall decor with the same color tone. Where will your dining table be? The large corner to the right of the stove is begging for a houseplant, maybe some basil. ( The pot can have that rich toned darker wood color, too) Also your rock shelf would look lovely with a small trailing houseplant. 🌿 Can’t wait for next week’s episode. 😊

The Island Ideas: 1. You could shorten the legs to the height you prefer. 2. You could refinish just the top to a color that is more compatible with your counters; for example strip/and sand off the current top color and go natural with a butcher block sealer oil. 3. Scuff sand the bottom part of the island and stain or paint it a contrasting color such as a beautiful blue like your shutters. 4. Or, leave it as is and use it as a serving cart to keep by your eating table.

In my opinion, it should be painted in the same shade of the kitchen counter, secondly it is nicer and more spacious to place the butcher between the windows. What you have planned is starting to look very beautiful!!!!!!

It's gorgeous, the only extra touch I would have done is applied a beveled ceramic edge to the top of the backsplash for a more finished look.

Yet again Diego, your skills really do leave us all totally amazed !! As for the island … I’m going to agree with those who recommend you rather colour it to blend in with your other kitchen cabinets. I think that leaving it in its original colour is just too much of a contrast … it stands out too much and detracts from the rest of the kitchen. Love it, especially the sink! Maybe you could paint the table with chalk or milk paint. It would give it the same matte finish as the cabinet doors.

There is the rule of 3. You can have 3 different wood tones. Makes the kitchen more welcoming. If it is too much red for you it is easy to paint or use a darker stain on the legs. Nice job , well done.

The sink is killer nice. I like it. And the island is very handy. If you want to take the time to sand the top and stain it lighter and maybe paint the rest, which would be less time consuming than trying to sand it all and stain it all, that's up to you. But it is a nice addition to the kitchen.

I like the different wood tones, but having said that I like it better against the wall. You can put your small appliances on it, like the mixer or blender. I am in awe with your ability to change this 200 yr. old ruin into a beautiful home. ❤

The island pairs really well with the colour of the cabinet doors. Maybe wait until everything is together before you decide. You can always change the stain later if you really don't like how it looks. This is your kitchen and it's about what you like :)

Hola, buenas tardes. La nueva cocina se ve muy bien. Aunque la isla es de otro color, el tono cálido de la madera ha dado calidez a la estancia. Además, como tiene ruedas, es muy útil y se puede llevar a otras habitaciones. Piensa en lo bonito que quedaría como carrito de bar, con vasos, copas y botellas. Tanto si la reunión/fiesta se celebra en el jardín delantero como en el patio trasero, la isla puede trasladarse allí fácilmente para formar una cocina gourmet con una barbacoa, una mesa y sillas o bancos. Abrazos y felicidad para ti y tu gatito.

That rolling table is the perfect offset to the kitchen. It's perfect as is.

Paint the base black to match your sink and sand the top and stain the color of your countertops. It’s a beautiful piece of furniture but I agree it doesn’t match. Great job with the kitchen, it’s beautiful ❤❤❤❤

Agree with your thoughts- the very warm toned island color clashes with the cool tones of the rest of the kitchen. My husband suggested sanding the top and staining and painting the rest, so you don’t have to sand the whole thing? Contrast is when you choose an opposing color in the same spectrum, eg a cool red against a cool green. If you stand back, your eye is drawn to the island and away from the rest of the beautiful kitchen. Pick a cool stain/color that is cohesive with the rest of the kitchen, and you’ll be much happier with it. If it’s bothering you now, it will keep bothering you, until you change it. 😀 Love how the kitchen is coming along !!! We will be doing kitchen renovation soon and we want that sink! Hi Diego and Joana, yes, it's true that the color of the work table is a bit jarring to the senses. Although you are very capable of refinishing it to match the counters, you have a schedule you must be following and that would be extra work. Perhaps you can flip it to a local furniture restorer so you don't have to worry about it? You'll get it back in the perfect color. Awesome job, by the way, with the beautiful sink and gas range.

Amazing sink + love your idea with the tiles. Personally I would have to sand out the red/ brown colour on the island . It hides the fact, that it's real wood. ♥♥ All round , 200% for work and taste.

Island table looks best against the wall. Large bowls can be stored on rack with other decorative items. It will be nice, with a medium size fresh flower arrangement on top.

Hi guys. Your kitchen is looking awesome. That sink WOW. The butchers block on wheels is a beautiful piece of furniture. You should keep it in the kitchen. It doesn't look bad at all. And you are going to need extra work space every now and then. Can I make a suggestions, design a pull out shelf or a rotary table for your corner cupboard.
