This video is bordering on national broadcast level production quality. Your efforts in this regard are certainly noticed! Although, I also enjoy the lower-effort around the local village shorts and other clips just as much. Thanks for sharing your skills and adventures!

Fantastic self leveling design, good job. My one caution having worked in building rear air ride assisted systems for Super Duty trucks used in a military application is the side frame air bag mount caused cracks in the frame. The frame is weakest in the location the air bag mount is attached to....the side twisting caused cracks and frame failures. The solution was to build a bracket system subframe connecting the two frame rails to to limit torsional frame twisting and cracks. Check for cracks every week or so....hopefully none will appear.

@everlanders I would recommend what the internet calls “Ping” tanks. It’s an air tank in line with the airbag that absorbs the spikes in pressure on bumps and articulations. Just an accumulator for your suspension. Lowers the pressure spikes making the ride nicer!

Excellent video. Great execution. A few things that I didn’t hear you touch on and I hope you considered is max and min allowable pressure on the airbags. Some airbags don’t like to be bottomed out and some don’t like to be overinflated as they will pop out of their housings. In the same note it’s critical axle limit straps or shocks limit the axle travel as extreme travel can also pop out an airbag from its seat. Just my 0.02 pesos on an otherwise 5 star video.

@@Everlanders Yes, there are too many regulations for everything. Camping is a problem in most countries if it's not in a designated area. And when it comes to fuel, it's even worse. For example, Zetros trucks that are heavily converted into campers are now only sold outside of Europe due to restrictions. The only advantage is that a European vehicle can travel anywhere in the world without issues

Meant to say that I use home assistant for all the automation in my house. I plan to have another pi in the camper. I found using MQTT for all the metrics/switches/devices allows me to consume them for graphing (telegraf into your chosen TSDB) and automation/UI/code. I've already got it talking to the blue inverter among other things to automate load shifting of home power to using the camper's batteries. Since I'll use MQTT I can have the house bridge the brokers and have controls for van/house in either instance. I'm sure you've seen it but it gets a +1 from me (not that the camper instance is in place yet)

Great video. This has been on my to-do list. I just have a Toyota Tundra with a slide in truck camper, but it would be nice to be able to inflate and deflate my airbags with onboard air. The Tundra is my daily driver and i only put the camper in for weekend trips. If I'm going to do that, i might as well auto level. I too wish Blync wouldn't have made the choices they did to take a fantastic product and ruin it. I used it for my very custom home hot water heater. I'm now using Home Assistant. I believe you could do something great with Home Assistant and ESPHome on your truck. I would use it on my Tundra, but i have nowhere near as many things going on as you. When i find a better slide in camper, that will probably change, but then i will be looking for a 3/4 ton pickup...
