now there's an installation wizard and i just want to bring to attention the dev message on the gui "This may take a while, but I'm sure you're used to long KSP loading times by now." (cries in 30~40 minute long loading times)
You definitely need to install this on an SSD, but Module Manager is also dependent on your CPU - I've found faster load times with it on faster CPUs for whatever reason.
I messed with this explicitly for parallax scatters, but they haven't added any except for earth trees. Personally, I think it would be awesome if every body except earth had parallax support for neat surface features and terrain.
That and the limit on parallax as I understand it is that the size of rss planets causes issues, if you only had to modify mars and smaller instead of starting with earth it would save performance.
Thanks for the great tutorial. I was stumped on getting this working, turns out I was unknowingly mixing files from the google drive and github versions.
Hi, my earth is working flawlessly, but venus for some reason doesnt have clouds, nothing just terrain, do you know why is that please even though i installed everything you shown
Now the Github shows this repository contains 184k, 92k, 64k, 42k, 32k and 16k textures for Luna. But I couldn't find 184k textures. So do you know where can I download it?
Sorry for a question gentlemen, but will ksp 1 for consoles remain available forever? Or will they close the game? 🤔 How did they do it with the crew 1?
I don't know anything about the console version or how that all works, but I don't see why it wouldn't stay available. I'm not sure what the final question means.
When trying to install this, I'm confused from the forum posts, is this compatible with RP-1? I've read and I dont know if it scales down the RSS solar system to be stock scale, and I dont want to break the saves I'm on.
If you get the regular RSS Reborn it is compatible, it even recommends you to use RP-1. But pay attention that it's RSS Reborn and not KRSS Reborn, KRSS is the Kerbal sized one. I personally have a problem with it though and that is that the ground textures do not change correctly, when I take off, the ground keeps changing into a progressively more stretched out texture of ground clutter like leaves and twigs. So when I'm in the air near Cape Canaveral the whole of Florida just looks like giant leaves and twigs. It goes away once I leave the atmosphere and enter space, then it looks like normal earth textures.
i followed all of the steps to download it but after the main loading is done it’s just on that black screen with the solar system in the bottom right just orbiting smoothly and it ends up not loading does anybody know how fix this?
How much RAM do you have? Usually if you're stuck on loading, that's an indication that the texture resolutions you've picked are too much for your system. Even with 64 GB of RAM I have to pick which planets I get the better textures for.
Since this video, they made an automatic installation for you: github.com/RSS-Reborn/RSS-Reborn/wiki/Installation - I've not tried that myself, though, so I can't explain any problems you might have.
This is only RO - no RP-1. This is CanaveralHD, though - you can see I have it installed. I'm amazed they made it mandatory for RP-1 - what about for people who aren't playing the U.S. and don't want to run it with high res textures? Are they out of luck, then?
@@RaizSpace i think if you choose another location to start over, then it will not be rendered or so? it´s only 136mb more and nothing compared to the 25gb of RSS Reborn 😄
@@RaizSpace have you noticed any actual difference, bugs etc? I assumed the gdrive version was the most stable but now I'm not so sure. would really like to get rid of the crazy spikes on the lunar terrain
