A Far Future Mission to Titan simulated in KSP.

Planetside Exploration Technologies (rover/base stuff)

Near Future Suite (most of the part mods used)
Tundra Exploration (powerful RCS thrusters/grid fins)
Far Future Technologies (fusion engine and fuel)
Heat Control (radiators)
KerBalloons
Restock
Waterfall (better engine plumes)
RO-Engines
I modified and created many configs for this mission.
Do not expect your own install to behave the same.

Really cool mission - I know we talked about it on your Jupiter mission. It made me think about an old collegue who was in the "Sirisus Patrole" - a part of the artic command in Denmark were they do ½ a year dogsledding missions only 2 people. He said that you really need to get a long with your buddy or you'll have a bad time... and even if you got a long it still could be a challenge x) I just tried to imagine what it what it would be like to have such a long mission - only 2 people. The imagery with the long lense and Saturn in the background.. man i hope i live long enough to see something similar being build and deployed.

Very excellent cinematic, you've come a long way since your first videos! Loved the general vibe with the shots and music. Balloon usage was pretty fun too! Here's to hoping this video takes off!

Extremely impressive. If you don’t mind me asking, how are you doing those return-to-launch-site landings with the boosters? I’ve always had trouble with them when flying manually. Are you using a script or autopilot mod?

I use booster guidance for landing my boosters.

Thanks! I had no idea about that mod. It might be a while before I use it, since I’m learning to use SSTO spaceplanes at the moment, but when I get back to reusable rockets I’ll try it out.

IIRC, the truss was from near future construction, then for the legs, it was from planetside exploration technology

Excellent mission plan can you explain to me how the balloon is supposed to work, is it filled with atmosphere or helium? Does it rise because our atmosphere temperatures is much hotter than titan?

I assume it is hydrogen? Not sure, the mod doesn't show what gas the balloon is filled with.

IIRC, it took around 3 months for planning and designing. For filming it took me around 1 month.

I use KerBalloons as it is, I didn't make any configurations to make it work for RO.

Now since the ship is all constructed that means the initial investment has already been made so the ship could just be re-fueled and sent off for the next mission much cheaper!
