sorry you feel like that. I am working on two separate videos for the sound. Reason for not having any sound clips is that this video itself was quite long also the system needs to be broken in. The sound now is different compared to when just installed.
I totally get your point but the video was long enough and also the character of the sound will change over time once the exhaust is "broken" in hence why I did not have any sound clips. As mentioned that will come in a separate video
@@Themazcorner how long does it roughly take for the sound to change, I've installed the same exhaust on my nd MX-5, thanks to your sound clip you posted. 😁👍👍
It sure does look apart and the sounds is really nice as well. I have not hear that many other systems on the ND so it is diffcult to compare. I have heard on lady with a (custom)Ferrita-system and that car sounds really nice
no actually not for me it is not loud enough to quite it down. But I will post a sound review where I think there is some resonanse at 3k RPM where a valve would help
Much much nicer than the stock system of the two exhaust tips off to one side.It should have came from the factory like this because IMO it balances the rear look of the car much better than with the exhaust tips off to one side
it is a much more aggressive looking system. I am not to fond of the "diffuser" thouhg. I have some issues with getting to sit in place. I will have to find an alternative solution to get it to sit
Thank you very much for your excellent videos and very nice mods of your Miata. Do you know if the Ulter Sport exhaust like yours is legal in Sweden? Will your car pass the annual "besiktning" ? Many thanks for your great videos
Thank you and glad you like the videos. Only installing the Ulter Sport will not cause any issues with regards to the inspection. So if you like it go ahead. Just a pointer installing the "diffuser" with tape only did not hold up
@@Themazcorner Many thanks Maz for your prompt answer. I really like the Ulter Sport exhaust and diffiuser and will def. order them. However I,m not at all as good as you with cars, so I have to find a good mechanic to do it for me. I live in Västerås and bought the car from the Mazda deakership there. What would you recommend? Mazda or any really good mechanic in Stockholm that you maybe know and has used?
Looks awesome man. Have been searching forever for a nice looking exhaust setup, i think i just found it. looking forward to the sound test video, and I hope it doesn't drone.
It sure is a nice looking system, it really elevates the rear! Yeah I will try to capture the sound as best as I can with the tools I have! Stay tuned :)
so I assume you had similar type of issue :D. It's weird that they don't mention anything about it. Was the flange on yours also with the larger hole facing the muffler? Aggreed on the last to points :)
It sure does enhance the car visually and sound wise. Could have been a bit louder in my opinion though! I have some issues with the "diffuser" will figure something out, if I do I'll post a vid on it.
Looks great! I have been looking at the same ulter exhaust for my RF . The look is great! But will be interested in what it sounds like compared to the stock. 👍
Can't wait! Don't make it too long as am eager to get it ordered 😁😂 can't seem to find a proper review of the Ulter, everyone seems to use the Goodwin race or the Bbr. 👍
Hi I’m having the same problem. I cannot get the diffuser to sit properly. I have used the recommended black silicone which didn’t work, then tried the 3 m tape that didn’t work either. Taped it all up for 24 hours but It seems to come away on the corners. Looking forward to hearing your comments and seeing your video if you have managed to resolve the problem. Cheers
@@Themazcorner Look forward to seeing your video! Any idea when you are going to post it. I’ve been arguing with Ulter for the last two months trying to get a refund but have got nowhere. So the only alternative seems to be to have it fitted by a body shop which seems crazy and expensive.
@@Themazcorner Is there already a solution for the assembly problem? I tried to mount the diffuser last weekend, but didn't do it because it doesn't fit the curves of the bumper. There is always a visible gap. Does the 3M tape actually fill the difference in height (there is an edge after all). In my opinion, at this point, if you push the diffuser towards the bumper, there is a lot of tension on the diffuser. The gap then pops up again and again. The assembly looks so easy in the video and pressing the 3M tape seems to work and hold without any problems!?
I wanna give some update about the diffuser, I’ve been using 3M tape for the first install and it hold up for about 7 months, after some car washes and back road driving it FALLS eventually, tried to reinstall it all over again last night and after 24 hours of wait it still would not stick. Just like a lot of you have mentioned there is some gap in the corners that wouldn’t be a tight fit to the bumper. I’m going to a body shop and ask them to use silicone, hope this works. In short: The Ulter sport exhaust diffuser Does NOT fit properly!
This looks really good so far. I ordered a quad tip Ulter and will be installing it after i have fully absorbed your install. I’m not convinced that the spring-loaded fasteners are necessary. Don you know why they are used? Thanks for all this (and the zunsport grille too). I’ll stay tuned of course. I’m curious if the source of the diffuser has a version that fits the quad tip exhaust too. [While I am writing, what size wheels and tires are you running?]
thank you and congrats! Maybe you can reach out to Ulter directly regarding the "diffuser" they might have something. The springs are there to take up movement when the system expands and retracts I would guess. Back then I was running Konig Hypergrams 17x8 ET45 215/45 Cup2 tires. No I am running Advan Racing TC-4 17x8 ET35 215/45 Cup2 tires
sorry for the late reply! I first bought the cobalt, but I never installed as I new I would want to have the ulter down the road! The spoiler is a really good deal in my opinion
It's from a seller on Ebay a lot of ND owners running that spoiler Link to the spoiler I ordered: ebay.us/lWtuBD Paint code used: A3F (brilliant black)
Hey, thanks for the video! I’m thinking about installing the same exhaust on my Miata. Is this fully reversible if I want to sell the car / hand it back? Or am I drilling holes in the original rear bumper?
I have video coming with regars to diffuser. I cannot get it to sit properly with the 3m tape. I think som stronger glue or screws in more places are needed. However the additional screws would go into the oem black trim and not the bumper
thank you, glad you liked it Were do you live? If outside of europe I would look into ebay if in europe there are some more vendors you can get them from. I got min from Ebay eventhough I live in Sweden as it was the cheapest option. Keep in mind there are two versions one stainless and one that is not.
@@in53278 sorry for the late reply! I am not sure how difficult the appearance pack diffuser would be to remove. I would guess it is glued/taped and maybe some hardware/rivets? would think the the glue/tape would be the hardest part. Regarding chipping the paint are you referring to the Ulter diffuser?
Coming from a Mustang to my 30AE the only thing I really miss is the sound. Looked at a OEM sport one but it was not very good. I like how the back of yours looks now but I am trying to be strong and keep mine as stock as possible (modded the Mustang a lot) but I will for sure do something with the exhaust eventually. I can wait to hear it!
do it, you can do it :D. I am also coming from Mustang a 2018. Had Borla Atak on it, one can switch to whatever exhaust on the MX-5 it still would be no contest, simply put it it aint no V8 :(. Yeah will try to capture the audio as best as possible with the tools I have. Stay tuned
Do u have other exhaust mods? Cats? Or only this muffler. Im waiting what it sounds like so i would buy for myself. Does the ulter exhaust have somekind of silencer on the tip? and is it remoavable? Thanks!
When I recorded the video I did not have anything installed. I have since a catless and res deleted midmipe installed and it sounds really good! Unfortunately the HP does not match the sound :D The tips are not removable and there is no insert. Here is a video on the midpipe installation with some sounds clips as well ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bDOXim87Ndg.html
@@user-mi8ie2kq4e have you checked my long term review of the Ulter? have some more clips of it there with the stock midpipe, much better compared to the OEM setup: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oVRuH0p0I7k.html
Nice video! Were the bolts supplied with the exhaust kit designed wrong? Did you contact the kit supplier and did they explain why the bolts were too short?
Thank you! If I recollect there were not bolts supplied. Maybe the OEM ones can be re-used the have a nut on side that seems to be threaded (but I could not get it loose so increase the span) I never did come around to contact Ulter, have been using the bolts I got from the hardeware store since.

The initial round of tape did not hold up! When the car was in for repairs they shop did use glue. However I never told them to fix it 🤣.... I was intending to redo it with tape. But safest bed is to use some sort of glue I would guess

hello nice mimix :-) how is the sound ? not enough? and we u cruising is slow or high? sorry for my english ( hello from france ) i want the same but iam afraid by an enormous noise thx for ur help friendly serge
In my opinion no. There is some boomy sound below 3000rpm. At 120-130km/h steady speed you can hear a bit . When pushing it is sounds nice in my opinion it could have been louder on full throttle

Nvm answered my question @ 9:57 definitely getting this exhaust and diffuser Could you just use screws for the diffuser? Just for that extra bit of security
correct you can only use hardware however i think there will be a gap between the diffuser and the car if no tape is used as well. Sorry for the late reply

Whats the size of the new bolts for the OEM exausht? I finally purchase the Ulter Sport exausht , i want to know the size of the bolt so when i ask a local garage to fit i have all ready in place to give to them. Thanks in advance. Love your videos content :)
Do you have IG or FB? I can send some pics on the bolts and dimension. M10, approx 67mm in length in total but maybe going a bit longer is more suited. I also have larger dished washers and m10 bolts. Did go for stainless steel ones and it has held up well
sorry for the late reply! I would suggest to use some sort of glue. It is difficult to get the 3M tape to sit properly due to the shape of the diffuser.

What 3M tejp did you use? Was it enough in the end?
The 3M VHB tape I used did not hold at least not with the way I had attached it. Car was in for some work and the shop re-attached with some more permanent bond
I cannot remember to be honest if I did send anything to them or not. But I have been running with the same bolts/washers/nuts since install and it has worked fine

Hey Maz. I bought this exhaust and i took it to my mechanic to be installed. I took the car Today and I noticed that he installed it strangely. The black plastic part its been installed with 20mm spacers and screws on the two sides. So the right and left extreme sides are not sticked at all to the stock plastic back. I wanna kill the f..g mechanic. Then the exhaust exits are soo close to the plastic part that with vibrations touches it. I have to find the way to disinstall the rear plastic ulter thing and reinstalling in properly. Fuckkkkkk
Hmm that installation does not seem correct. I have not used any spacers on mine :/ There was a company that re-did mine when they were fixing some damage on the car. And they did mount the diffuser to close to the exahust :( and they have used glue as well
@@Themazcorner its exactly what happened to me. I took it to a mechanic to install the diffuser. But I see it would have been better to do by myself. You know whats the nowaday's problem here? There are less and less prifessionists. Many mechanics dont have a brain. Anyway at the end i ll fix it some how

@@jaimemendoza665 Great! You will need to get longer bolts for where the Ulter meets the midpipe on the car. The ones provided are to short at least on mine as you may have seen in the video. Also only using 3M tape was not enough to hold the diffuser in place. I will try to find a solution for it soon. I'll post a video if I find a good way of solving it
