Thank you this was very informative. I have a creek that goes through my land but it goes dry during the summer. A waterhole should help.

Our property is in South Texas and we are in a severe drought. We are also located in the hill county so digging is not an option because the terrain is majority of rock. I put a small 50 gal tank and its getting use but the hogs are using it as a bath lol. So the water is getting wasted as they splash around. What would be a good height for one to still have the deer be able to reach

Thanks for the informative video Jake, Unfortunately we have been in a 3 year drought here in central Minnesota. I am wondering what you think about putting a water hole in a 1/3 acre hunting plot within shooting distance of my stand. The plot is on the SE corner of my property bordered by an ag field and a tarred road. My property is mostly low with a creek on the west side, so trying to dig a water hole in the woods will be bigger challenge than I want to try and tackle (trees and rocks everywhere). Maybe I could put in a smaller kids pool but then I would have to keep going in to fill it and i don't want to have that much intrusion. Thanks for doing these videos to help the rest of us out.

I’m curious why no one puts their water holes on the edge of a Food plot? I would think it would be a double attractant, or reason for a deer to visit that much more often.

You usually hunt transitions not destination’s. So creating pinch points from bedding to the food. Sure you could add water holes on your food plot but what happens now is you gave them less of a reason to stop at your pinch point.
