Base Petra's refine is also weirdly similar to Brave Claude's refine so it's funny that Summer Petra is so similar to Wind Claude as well.

I have to agree, it's a nice change of pace from all the powercreep we've gotten recently, and as a Petra fan I'm happy she got an alt, I just wish she wasn't WT!Claude 2.0. Also, happy for Dedue, but how many axe infantry grails do we need at this point.

This was all I needed to finally summon for Brave Gullveig (and I got her in 21 orbs!). Thank you as always for the great understandable breakdown PM1.

the goldmary bernie duo convo could go one of two ways and i really hope its the wholesome way

Bernadetta and Goldmary are both antisocial in very different ways, so the pairing is actually quite fitting. Plus they're fan favorites for how charmingly dysfunctional they are. Overall this banner doesn't seem to be much more than just fodder though. Spd/Def Tempo from Clanne is nice, as well as Solid Ground from Dedue. Don't know why they think we need yet another slow axe infantry unit though. Him being a sword unit would've been so much better, especially since there's already so many good inheritable axes.

I've been wanting Summer Petra for years. And I've been waiting for Goldmary too. Pairing her with Bernie is hilarious. I'd regret not trying to get those two, Alear is a welcomed surprise.

Felix and Annette are now the only Blue Lions without summer alts, but they both have winter alts, funnily enough.

Seeing Cuboon draw a summer unit again was expected, since she drawed Summer Byleth and her refine is next month.

i think at this point summoning based on power is a fool's errand unless you're a whale. focusing on just summoning for your favorites is basically the only way to stay sane playing feh these days

I might be extremely wrong here, but I don't see too much to pull for on this banner. S!F!Alear seems like an upgrade over L!F!Alear (which is really funny because we've now gotten THREE upgrades of her now), but other than that I guess Petra can be useful for full flyer teams as an extremely mobile hit and run weapon. I can sum it up by saying that I'm relieved at having basically no orbs for this one.

What I honestly love about this banner is that we finally got a Petra alt, the biggest downside, however, is that she's just another WT!Cluade who isn't even that relevant anymore. At least S!Dedue is free, though wish he wasn't another infantry axe.

Thanks for your summer banner first impressions and video! I definitely agree on the idea of not having every banner bring something insane. It's a nice breather and even if they aren't top meta units, they can still be fun to play around with and use. I won't be summoning and I'll continue to save for CYL and any other banners that catch my eye. Good luck with your summons and have a great rest of your day.

Maybe Ashera is onto something with her Hexblade remix against Goldmary lol. Joking aside, I'm intrigued to see where they'll go with the Bond effects, since in the future you can stack many effects in effectively tucked into 1 status which might help slip past Tina and Loki (excluding Nergal).

When I saw petra on the shillouette my hope for summer Hubert went up, but I like dedue too so I wont be mad. Still got my hopes up for a halloween hubert

Well this next summer banner for this year definitely got my attention. I like the selection of characters here. Surprise to see Bernadette here. Even though she's taking the backseat while Goldmary is in the front. I'm gonna try to summon from this banner. Hopefully I'll have enough to summon for this year's CYL banner.

The bulwark bonus is really helpful to stop the ninjas running away with Cecilia emblem warp.

Basically just another 3H summer banner, ofc it is, with Engage in the mix. Nice to see Petra, Dedue, and Clanne, but do we really need another F!Alear and Bernedetta. Also, we have way too many axe infantries, regardless of prfless or not, as grails.

Somebody on Reddit mentioned that Goldmary's support stacks. So 4 Goldmarys would reduce the enemy's attack by 60% 😂

#Question Since Book 7, it has appeared that there have been no demote units that came with a Prf upon release due to the influx of many good GBH units who came with their Prf. Which non-seasonal demote would you personally give a Prf to? Mine would be Leonardo with Lughnasadh because it would make the Colorless having something worth pulling for.

Dear God, thank you this banner is decent but not broken. A much needed brake from all the powercreep rollercoaster we had been having...

As someone who took a long break and missed out on the first 2 emblem units, I'm glad they decided to at least put out Laguz Friend on a different unit. Plus she gives a ton of stuff that you can inherit all at the cost of one unit. Sure Godlike Reflexes is somewhat common nowadays but still a really solid bundle together with a new C slot and the always reliable Finish skill.

Honestly, I don't understand the "issue" of getting countered by the scowl effect with W!Claude and this new Petra. It happens the exact same with almost every hero on the game and it's not an issue if you have an ally Brave Robin (which I believe most people have since it's a Brave unit) or Young Robin 🤷🏻‍♂️

As much as I would love to have a copy of Summer Petra, I must save for Attuned Peony's rerun.

As a Bernie fan, Im forced to summon for Goldmary, but it pains me so much having to leave it at +1 at most because I need to save my orbs for Brave Bernie, its so unfair to get 2 bernies in the same year and not even 6 monts appart, Im excitef but sad at the same time

The standard now is whether you can kill Emblem Ike or not without assistance. I personally don’t see any of these units move the needle, but we’ll see when they come out. Regardless I’m not interested in the banner since I need to save orbs for CYL.

I think Goldmary is a little better than just “stats lol” but only because her arua is actually kind of strong. 15% of atk atk/spd debuf is a pretty decent amount, that’s almost equivalent to winning triangle advantage and it effecting speed too is just mean. That said it’s just stat swing, and aside from that she’s basically just Timerra. So like she’s an Ike buff.

Sadly I cannot skip this. Been waiting for a Petra alt for ages and any Bernie alt is also obligatory, whether she's a backpack or not. I'm so cooked for CYL this year.

Goldmary reminds me of Timerra which is weird given that shes releasing close to a year later and is also a Harmonic unit, youd think theyd push it a bit further than making her more LF compatible

What if Bonded is IS’s way of fitting multiple effects in one status called bonded to by oasis mythic Loki’s effect in the future? Technically the character will only have one bonded status but have the benefits of having multiple effects on one status

Gonna go primarily for Clanne and Petra, then Alear, and lastly for Goldadetta. I like Goldmary well enough, but Bernadetta is not my cup of tea. I need Zolkov and Jean, though!!!!

I definitely want to get summer female alear and harmonic goldmary/Bernie. The problem is I sued my 200 ish orbs on getting only one emblem celica and I only have around 40 orbs left. Good luck to everyone trying to get them.

Like, I get that putting opposite personalities together can be funny, but it also makes this pair a bit jarring, especially since most previous pairs try to have at least some sort of similar connection.

You gotta feel for IS devs trying to keep the game alive. Every banner with strong units that immediately change the meta, it's "OMG POWERCREEP THIS P2W GAME IS DEAD." Every banner with moderate/normal units that _don't_ immediately change the meta, it's "Lol mid units, skip." I love that they finally gave the meta room to breathe and released a banner that wasn't game-changing. But it sucks knowing that since it's likely the game's twilight years and everyone will skip this one, IS will continue to be forced to follow the money and produce even more ridiculous powercreep going forward.

Honestly I agree from the fodder (outside of Laguz Friend) and the power level of the units the banner is a skip. My problem, for whatever reason IS continues to throw all my favs into banners with one of my least favorite seasonal themes. I mean I already thought with Elise, Claude, Ashe, Caspar, Mercedes, Camilla, Laegjarn, Eir, Marianne, … that IS would be finally done but nope - they decided to release my fav Character from Engage with Clanne and the one missing fav female character from 3H with Petra, finally giving her an alt after all this years. So despite the lack of great fodder or too powerful units I HAVE to summon on this and even skip the Emblem Celica banner overall (got another Hinoka and Caeda in the first to circles there so at least sth), because of personal favs. ;_; Want at least one Petra and as many Clannes till I reach the Spark (at least).

I love Petra but I don't know if I like her enough to pull with how similar to wt!claude she is... I thought because of the x+1 that her special jumping would be able to bypass scowl but if the max does apply to the x+1 as opposed to just the x, then she'll suffer the same fate as claude... Well I guess the desperation means she can still fire off a deadeye unless the opponent is near fallen veyle. On the plus side, that does mean I get to save orbs, but I'm still trying for celica sooooo
