I'd be worried using the metal trowel over those sprayed on effects that I would scratch them off. 🤔 But the simplicity is incredible!! 👏👏 Now, how do you do it in cream and gold with some sheen? Miss your studio background!! 😉

I'm building my dream standing desk right now out of an 8 foot birch butcher block & the game plan is to do a single coat of black water based solid stain over pre-stain so it's dark but the grain & block still pops through, then I'm going to do a few thin layered pours with the Montana Marble Effects in between each layer. Once that's all done sand & hone to a stone like finish. The idea being it looks like marble until you're right up on it & see the wood at the bottom. Hoping it comes out great. I just did a test piece on some birch ply yesterday & it's looking like my nutty idea is going to work! I just have to remember to bug wide gestures with the Marble Effects. A little bit seriously goes a long way with those cans! Super easy to overdo it.
when you are making your countertop wood substrate, how much smaller do you make the wood for two coats of epoxy? in other words, how thick is each coat of epoxy on the edges of the finished countertop?
This might be a stupid question, but does anyone know if you can put epoxy on car parts? Like a tailgate or hood for example? I'm new to the epoxy thing but I am randomly curious. Thanks!
hey will clearcoat flow & cover properly over a waterfall edge countertop? Also the 4" vertical back of most countertops, can this epoxy cure on a vertical piece like that? Maybe mix thicker?
I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned watching your videos. I’m getting ready to pour my first table top (kitchen bistro table top) but I have an issue in that my shop is unheated. Keeping the temp. (Or even getting it up to) at or about 65° in the Pacific NW isn’t possible even in July around here (where nighttime temps still fall into the lower 50’s). So my question is this… Can I still get a full cure with an extended cure time stretching into say 8-10 days at ~50°?? Thanks for these great instructional videos…keep them coming!
Can I cut on that or no?? I am a woman and it looks like I can do that on wood.( 3/4 ply). But for cooking I just would like if I can cut on it and is it food safe??
Hey Mitch, when I bought my first torch I got burned, no pun intended, because if you tip it over it shuts off. Do you have any torch recommendations? Am I able to disable that safety feature? Also, you guys should be more active on twitter.
Looks like good products and I’ve been wanting to try them. Tried opening an contractor account with you guys over a month ago. No response. Called in and spoke to someone that said she would let the department knows that handles it. Never heard from them. Called in again and got her again with an attitude and said she would let them know again. Again nothing. Called in a 3rd time and pretty sure she answered again. She said a manager would call me and big shocker no one called. I guess you guys don’t need my business.
