Did you try the exercises in this video? Which one is your favorite (it's the calf/plantar fascia combo for me!)? COMMENT your experience down below and if you're looking for a great video to help with your tight calves here's the one I recommend you watch next: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hmf2xnHC58k.html Hope you feel better! 🙏🏼
Some fantastic advice here thank you. My chiropodist told me to do the edge of the step exercises. Put both feet on the edge of a step just so that your toes are on the step, steady yourself with your hands and lift up on to your tip toes and hold for around 5-10 seconds then lower yourself so that your feet go below the level of the step slightly and hold again for a further 10 seconds and repeat around 20 times. Do these exercises 4 times a day. 😉
you are a godsend thank you so much!!! I was about to go to the doctors it got so bad but this relieved so much pain. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am sooo grateful!
You're the best physical therapist. I healed my left rotator cuff tear watching another of your videos. Now I watch the plantar fasciitis to heal the bottom of my foot. Thank you so much
Stretch your Achilles tendon I do it all the time. Especially since I'm 13 weeks post op fibula and maliolas (sp) brake. The first few steps in the morning is killer I've had plantar fasciitis. You are doing almost everything I do at PT.
Once again, very thorough on how to manage symptoms and best part "the cause" and last two exercises for strengthening! Had issues years ago as a high jumper with the take off foot which creep in to this day now I can focus further on recovery.
Thanks for commenting, @WhistlerSkiegr8! Treating pain (the symptom) helps it to feel better, but it will always come back if you don't do anything about the actual cause. Hope these help you and thanks for your support!
This is perfect for husband whom been suffering fron plantar and MD just ordered Physical therapy but will cancel and try your Excersices first. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you VERY Much for your clear and knowledgeable guidance on addressing this recurring painful issue. Knowing that this probably caused by a tight Achilles tendon was very helpful in working to prevent it's reoccurrence. Grateful for your generous knowledge share.
Thanks so much for these tips, exercises and stretches! I've been doing some of them, and am adding the rest! I went to our Square Dance last night, and made it through several sets before my heel began hollering - so very timely!
@@toneandtighten Hi Dr Jared, I'm dealing with stiffness and sharp pain in the lower calf only while I *land* after a jump, do you think it could be some kind of weakness in the Achilles's tendon the reason for the "discomfort"?
Thank you for this-- I've had plantar fasciitis for four years in both feet. Nothing has helped. This is an amazing stretching routine that feels like it's targeting the culprit right muscles. I've been to physical therapy, had injections etc. I finally feel like this is getting to the root of the problem! 🙌🏼
Very easy to understand. Visuals / video of exercises allow for exercise to be understood quickly and to be done correctly. Great easy to understand video. Thank you.
I'm doing a challenge of running every single day and I'm at day 382, been running with the heel pain for 2-3 months. Maybe my stretching is not on point but these excercises didn't give me instant relief, the pain's still there, but i do feel better, so thank you!
This is day 1 of trying your exercises. My pain is still tremendous! How long until I feel relief or feel stronger ? Note : I play soccer every Sunday ( yesterday ) and so my pain is currently at its highest .
Hi doc, I'll be sending this video to family & friends, very helpful! Big thanks & a quick question. What shoes are best for daily wear to keep feet healthy and strong? I have tried different sneakers, with/ without a bit of height at the heel, I've also tried Altras and Birkenstock sandals, my favorite is barefoot all day every day~but i want to keep my feet (and knees and hips and back & all the rest) happy and healthy. Do you have a video on footwear?
I enjoy your videos and the ones you have done for back pain have helped me so much. Do you have any videos specifically for peroneal tendonitis? Or would these work for that as well?
Thank you so much, @rosemiller9140! I don't have anything for per tend pain; but that's a great suggestion for a future video! I'll see what I can do. I hope these things help you, and thanks for commenting!
You have some different stretches and exercises to help with this chronic problem for me. thank you. My question is for foot wear is it better to have less of a toe to heel drop or more? I tried hiking in a zero drop and feel it made it worse??
Thank you Doctor I am going to try this good tips as you said.dome of them i did before it helps little but I like your tops better so thank you so much.
I went from an office job to constantly walking / standing for 8 hours. My right foot is experiencing this pain, is the worst after sleeping, to the point I have to limp for the first 5 minutes. Also after resting. I’m 2 weeks in with this pain so now I’m looking for a solution because is not going away
Along with the stretches that he suggests go up a 1/2 size or 1 size up in your work shoe. Wear compression socks when you work invest in a good walking or running shoe and be mindful that your insoles wear off and you need to change at least once a year or your body absorbs the shock in your feet, ankles, knees, hips and back. I work at a hospital and work long hours and on my feet. I hope this helps
After long walks I will get a sharp pain towards the front of my arch. No pain in my heel so not sure if it’s planter fasciitis but will give these exercises a try.
I have had plantar in the past, however my left heel pain currently is from posterior tibial tendinitis according to my dr and PT. I have done most of what you said before other than the stretch with the right leg crossing over. Any other suggestions 👍👍
What kind of shoes should I be wearing? Those with no arch support are very painful with my PF, but finding sandals with arch supports now days is almost impossible.
I have a knee pain in both my foot ,this happened when I was trying to show my childreans military pared ,I didn't it without wearing shoes or boot so from then to date I have a rill painfull ,how can I solve this problem Dr?
Great video with good exercises. Also people should Try a GOOD fish oil for plantar fasciitis. I personally buy Country Life brand. I started out with four a day but then eventually dropped down to two capsules a day. This has kept the pain away for about seven years for me. It has to be good fish oil. Grocery store fish oil wont work. ❤
I broke my right ankle last March when I had a bad fall, I've been diagnosed with panther facitus, it's very uncomfortable I don't have any relief from it
So when doing the foot strength pinching the ball between my feet then going up on my toes the top of my foot that has the pain pops it’s doesn’t hurt when it does I’m just wondering why it would be popping. My other foot doesn’t do this.
Can I take physiotherapy treatment like ultrasound, laser shots, faradic foot bath, paraffin wax etc while suffering from plantar fasciitis?? Love from India
Absolutely, @KAVAN1! Those things will all help supplement the exercises I've presented in this video. I hope these things help you, and thanks for commenting!
My pain gets worse when I stretch my toes backwards. Can’t recommend it. It feels better when I align my big toe (bend it a little bit inwards) and then bend my toes down.
