I tried your recipe, first time cooking crab legs. I added the powder instead of the liquid and followed recipe with a pat of butter. Frozen for 4 minutes. Tasted better than the restaurant. Thank you!
Today is my husband's birthday. I made him steak, crab legs and all the fixings to go with it. Thank you... thank you... thank you for this video! He was so happy with his birthday meal. He said the crab legs were very good!
SweetMommah same here and due to disability I’m unable to drive Hoping my adult Son comes tomorrow to take me shopping and LOL he doesn’t eat Seafood! More for me! At least twice a year I go to an all you can eat crab leg/seafood restaurant. My Daughter & I usually go for our birthdays and we certainly get our money’s worth. We couldn’t wait this year... my birthday was just 4 days ago, hers is in 2 1/2 WKS, so we went early! We went in June! 😂
I made these this weekend and they were INSANELY delicious. The garlic butter was amazing too BUT.... seriously the flavor in those crab legs were so wonderful that I won't bother with the garlic butter next time. If health and weight were no issue, fine but really you do NOT need the butter with this recipe. OMG I cannot wait to make these again!
Oh Jeffery thank you so much for showing how to cook crab legs...everytime I see them in the market I'm so intimidated to buy them because I have no idea how to prepare them and not ruin a little pricey investment of seafood. I am definitely going to try this with the 'garlic butta' lol You ROCK my 'Instant Pot' world...hahaha....say hello to Richard! He looks like my nephew when he takes off his glasses...wow....(my brothers name is "Richard" and his son is my nephew) take care you guys...and keep your culinary 'creative juices' flowing....hahahaha...I'm making your famous Stroganoff for our tomorrows Sundays dinner...made it a few times and it is always a HUGE hit... Urssy from Canada
Fantastic - thank you so much. I cooked them immediately after watching your video. So good and sweet and meat came out whole. Just heaven. My husband doesn’t care for them but he buys them for me so YEESSS I am one lucky woman!
Thx for saving me money as I came on RU-vid looking for a steamer for crab legs. Didn't realize I already had the perfect tool sitting on my counter top!
The sauce you made I am sure is good, but one time, try this.: in a small bowl or sauce cup, pour a small pile of salt, then a small pile of sugar, then a small pile of black pepper. After that, get a few halves of fresh lemon, and squeeze a good bit over this, until you have the sauce cup about 1/2 full of lemon juice. Stir it all well. Take a tiny taste. If it is too tart, add a bit more sugar. If it is too sweet, add a bit more lemon juice. My wife is from Vietnam, and this is a quick and easy dipping sauce for crab, shrimp, steamed oysters, pretty much any seafood, but it tastes so good on crab legs. I never ate many of them before my wife showed me this great lemon pepper dip. Give it a try sometime!
I’m making this tonight as one of my send off dinners for my son who is leaving for college at the end of this week. Hoping it’s good!! I’m sure it will be! All of your stuff is delicious!
OMG.....What a super easy way to cook crab legs, and best is getting it perfect everytime….. Instant Pot is just the best. Thanks so much for this...… Claudia
You're not cooking the crab legs. If they are red or orange they have already been cooked. You are just reheating them and this is an excellent use of the insta-pot for reheating.
Instant Pot is the best thing to ever happen for making seafood at home. Your shrimp scampi is probably my favorite thing ever. Going to have to get me some crab legs to try now. Stay awesome, Jeffrey!
Really got to say, I love your channel. Your attitude and the cooking and everything about it, it makes watching the video a fun experience instead of it just a video I watch for a recipe. Keep up the good work!
Hah! This was the first recipe video I ever looked up and I was like "this is my reason to get an instant pot!". Well, fast forward quite a while and we got one. I searched up instead how to do a beef and broccoli recipe and it wasn't until I started writing this comment that I realized that recipe was from you as well. It was incredible and now I'm buying everything right now for this recipe for a meal later this week. Definitely subscribing! ❤️
you can fit the crab in much easier breaking the legs from the clusters and placing the cluster part on top. Also - never "rinse with warm water". Always always always use cold water. It is still warmer than frozen and will thaw them quickly, but without worrying about letting them get too warm which is not safe. Edit: Adding something else: better than bouillon is such a great product and now I've got a new way to use it. Adding the garlic base to the butter sounds so good and so easy (and easy is one of the reasons I love the BTB products)
My first thought was - “why would you use an IP to cook crab legs?” But I get it now! 😊 Really glad I watched this, and of course now I’m thinking about making a beach run for fresh crab legs.
For over a year now I've been making crab legs in the instant pot any chance I get. I make them frozen and add only water to the the pot. I steam them for 7 minutes and they're perfect.
OMG Jeffrey, you've outdone yourself this time! Crab is my favorite thing to eat EVER! I can only afford them once or twice a year, but the wait so worth it. My favorite is the Dungeness crab, mmm, mmm, mmmmm! My tongue is hanging to the floor n salivating profusely, lol.... Next favorite is diver scallops.....what can you come up with for them? 👍👍🍴👍👍 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀
I will save this to my insta pot play list for my hubby (who is getting me one of these things for Christmas)..I have shellfish allergies so my tummy hurts thinking about it! And hi Richard !!!
Oh I know these were amazing! I do a Shrimp feast with Onions, potatoes & corn using the Zatarains, Slap ya mama Cajun seasoning. Its super easy & omg delicious. I'll be doing a video on it, in fact tomorrow. We thinking on same "wave" 😏😂😂😂
Richards, never had these before. Will try them! Been cooking shrimp with great success. Would that broth be good for a seafood chowder? You are amazing.
This may seem like a stupid question.... but the only grocery store near me sell previously frozen cooked crab. Will this process work on this particulary product? Any help would be appreciated. BTW... Great Video in any case I will definitely try the sauce.
I was thinking that as well. Likely to clean and then deep clean...and of course store unsealed. I only have one ring (new pot) so we’ll see what happens. Best of luck!
Pritesh Patel, sure, why not! All the ingredients would be delicious for garlic bread, but you probably would NOT need to melt the butter. Just soften and then add the other ingredients before spreading on the bread.
OMG it looks so yummy that my mouth watered as you guys were eating! Just wondering if you think you could do Lobster that way as well! My Husband, God rest his soul, always prepared a Lobster Feast for us on New Years Eve but I’ve never had the nerve to try making it mysel. Also, have you ever done a Clam Bake this way or is it even possible? I have a 6 quart IP just sitting on my kitchen counter waiting for me to try out! Thanks for the amazing recipes, I’ve saved all your YT video’s, shared with others & now I’m off to find you on FB. In the past I always typed in all CAPS as I have MS/Multiple Sclerosis, blind in my left eye and needing surgery on my right eye; so please forgive & overlook any typo’s I may have made. Vision’s so bad tonight that I can’t even see to try to edit. I’ll leave you with my famous {{{HUGGZ}}} ~Su Many people don’t realize it’s me as I’m working hard to text in regular size text, not using all CAPS, but they do remember my heartfelt {{{GUGGZ}}}
Jeffrey, your face looks thinner! Look like you got this crab recipient down to a fine art... I think when I do this I will add half a lemon for some additional flavor! Thanks for posting this video.
You’re a nut...lol but I love it I really did at least you bring some personality to it and it made me laugh and I got to give you props for it. And by the way your version of dipping sauce was really good I enjoyed it..
I got my Instant Pot for Christmas and made your pot roast recipe as my first meal. Hoping to make crab legs soon! I was trying to research making a crab stock recipe in the instant pot using the discarded shells. Any ideas? I’ve never made any stock before, but as you said, “waste not, want not.” Thanks!
Santa K Publix has them, so done Winn Dixie they call it Fresco now. If you go to Fresco you can get them steamed and seasoned there they real good they also have shrimp king crab, conch, and lobster
