works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ru-vid.comUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
This is my 3rd day of owning an Instant pot, and the second recipe from you I made. The first was your roast and gravy. My husband thought it had so much flavor. I told my mom I know how to cook now. Tonight I made this recipe, all ground beef, and my husband could not believe how good this is. I could not believe I cooked it. I did not have 100% of the ingredients, so I urge anyone to try this even if you are missing a few spices or the vinegar glaze. It still turns out out-of-this-world. Best meatloaf I ever made. Thanks Jeff!
Hi Pressure Luck! Just want to tell you that I bought an Instant Pot recently after watching some of your videos, I have thrown away ALL of the processed box item foods in my house and have been cooking your recipes for the last few weeks....my kids are licking bowls and plates clean and we are all getting the REAL foods that we need.....can’t thank you enough for getting my family back on track
I started watching these videos and also started changing what and how I cook a lot of foods. So yeah, my family and I are eating much healthier. And healthier or not the IP makes the best corn on the cob ever 😊😊
@@michellejd7870 After I read your comments, which are to say the least frightening to the uninformed, I did some brief research on the topic you referenced. I will cite the link I found. Bottom line - pretty much debunked and this comment sums it up well: “During the 1960s and 1970s, aluminum emerged as a possible suspect in Alzheimer’s. This suspicion led to concern about exposure to aluminum through everyday sources such as pots and pans, beverage cans, antacids and antiperspirants. Since then, studies have failed to confirm any role for aluminum in causing Alzheimer’s. Experts today focus on other areas of research, and few believe that everyday sources of aluminum pose any threat.” from www.alz.org/alzheimers_disease_myths_about_alzheimers.asp I don't want to bogart @Pressure Luck's work here, so I won't post the rest of the links publicly but am happy to share what I learned after I researched your comment. Thank you Michelle.
Hi Mr. Pressure Luck. I just made this for dinner tonight. Allison liked the dinner; even the potatoes; she usually doesn't like the potatoes, she is 6. Wyatt, who is almost 3 ate everything except for his broccoli which is unusual because he likes broccoli. It was wonderful; I polished off my plate. This was my second time around for this best ever meatloaf and mashed potatoes dinner and it came out a bit better this time. I cut back to 1 cup of the chicken broth and even sucked out a bit before I began the mashing as it was a bit runny for me the first time around. I don't have a fancy bundt pan so I wrapped the meatloaf up with foil like some of the other instant pot recipes show you how to do. OverAll; I give this a 5 out of 5. Wonderful use of herbs and seasonings. Thank you so much Jeffrey; I have so much fun with your cooking tutorials and look forward to seeing more from you.
I am a meatloaf lover from way back! My mom always made the very best meatloaves and she used very few ingredients...and ever since I’ve been an adult cooking for myself, I have tried (unsuccessfully) to re-create her recipe, to no avail. It’s been literally decades since I ate one of my mom’s meatloaves (she passed away in 2011) and I’ve long since given up on trying to duplicate her recipe. She really wasn’t a fancy person and her food could never be described as “elegant” (my parents had 5 of us kids and we grew up in poverty in the Deep South). We were lucky to have any kind of meat at meal time so we never worried about the presentation...we were lucky to have _any_ meat when we ate, so it didn’t matter what the food looked like. Anyway, even though I have my own basic meatloaf recipe now, and it does get its compliments, I’m always open to improving it. I’ve tried all kinds of variations and somehow, it always comes back to my basic recipe...but I’m always glad to try something different. Now that I have my Instant Pot as well as your lovely-looking recipe, I’m so looking forward to trying it...especially considering you get the 2-4-1 mashed potatoes recipe at the same time! This is sheer genius, and the ingredients you included make this loaf sound heavenly! I’m 57 years old now, and I finally came to realize (like most of us do, I suppose) that I was never really going to match my mom’s meatloaf recipe...even trying was a fool’s errand because there was always going to be an ingredient that I could never find: a mother’s love. I can’t wait to try your recipe as I begin my (hopefully) long and awesome relationship with my Instant Pot!! 😉
Sir, please don't make me emotional an teary-eyed in a meatloaf video. Jokes aside, my mom is struggling with cancer, so no a lot of cooking from her for a while, missing it, now trying to make something tasty for her.
Take the wife and kids out for a $60 forgetable meal or spend $20 on ingredients, cook the dinner with a lot of love and have a great hour of conversation around the dinner table. I'll take option #2. Great recipe.
I made this tonight for Saturday night dinner. It was fabulous! Grating the onion was torture 😭 however it was so delicious, the mashed potatoes , heavenly! Will make this often. Thanks for all you do Jeff. I used to be afraid to use my instant pot💕
Thought I’d share, I’m a 50yo bachelor in the process of getting dentures. It’s uncomfortable and awkward to eat normally and I’m starving. I was looking for soft easy things to make when I found this video. Then I found a bunch of other videos (various creators) all using the Instant Pot. So I had to get one (still on its way). As a side note your video on the difference between the Ultra and Duo models was helpful (went with the Ultra). Then I started watching Instant Pot videos left and right and realized I have none of the spices, tools/accessories used in the recipes (I lived on fast food). You wouldn’t believe how expensive it is to stock spices and basic ingredients from scratch, twice what I paid for the Instant Pot or more. The main reason I wanted to comment on this video was how much it stands out from the crowd of your competitors or peers. I’ve watched at least a dozen meatloaf videos now, most didn’t include the potatoes but yours is by far the best and the one I’m going with. One small change I’m going to make is use a packet of French Onion Dip mix in place of the onions. I also have everything ready to make your French onion macaroni and cheese. The reason I mentioned being a bachelor in the beginning is about the size of the meals. Almost every video I’ve seen will feed four or two with leftovers. I can’t eat that much and I don’t want to eat the same thing for a week. That’s when I came across the FoodSaver, FreshSaver system. A vacuum sealer gizmo. An incredibly cheap, for the quality (under $50 with extra accessories ) system that if its claims are true, I can cook for a couple days and have leftovers for the rest of the month. I just got it today so don’t know personally but it’s reviews are good. It might behoove you to investigate it yourself.
Check out Amazon for Instant Pot Mini Recipes books. I just ordered a couple to go with the DuoPlus 3 qt. IP I just received. There is one “for Two” that has smaller portions.
kmush01 - thank you for the suggestions. I’m still trying to get an operating procedure, but it seems to be going very well. I made this (meatloaf & mashed potatoes) recipe about a week ago and it turned out very well. The best part is freezing the leftovers. This recipe calls for 3lbs of mashed potatoes, all the leftover mashed got put in vacuum sealed zip lock bags. I tested a batch a couple days later and I can empty the frozen mashed potatoes into the Instant Pot (double boiler style) pressure cook for 5 minutes and presto they are as good as the day I made them.
@@kmush01 Didn't you know there's an ornery little elf, called "Spell Check" that lives in our electronic devices. He delights in causing mischief, and messing with our carefully written messages.
Made this for dinner tonight and it’s SERIOUSLY the best meatloaf I’ve EVER HAD!!!!! Thank you so much!!! We love watching your videos and following your recipes ❤️
Old foodie cook here just learning how to use my new Instant Pot. This is the second thing I’ve made. The meatloaf is the BEST I have ever made, and believe me, I’ve made a lot of meatloaf using my own and at least a dozen other recipes. This is the only way I’ll make it from now on. I got the recipe from your website and followed exactly, except that I only made 2 pounds of potatoes. I adjusted the liquid to 2 cups, so the potato to liquid ratio remained 1:1. Alas, my mashed potatoes turned out to be loaded potato soup ( albeit absolutely divine potato soup). Next time I will remove the liquid from the pot before mashing and add it back as needed. Adding the Boursin was a stroke of culinary genius! Thank you !
A great meatloaf, for those who may not understand, is kinda like the most savoury, juicy Italian meatball you've ever had. Except that you get LOTS! :) Can't wait to try this. You can cook the meatloaf and potatoes at the same time, omg! UPDATE: I made this! OMG, it was incredible. Will be making this OFTEN. Leftovers made the yummiest sandwiches. Just, wow.
Can I just say that I used to hate meatloaf? This recipe changes everything! There's so much flavor! I didn't have a bundt pan but used 1lb lean ground beef and put it in 2 mini loaf pans and it fit fine without the trivet. Perfection!!!!
OK...Just got my Ultra 6Qt for Black Friday for about half price...loving it. When I saw your video, it got my curiosity going about how good meatloaf can really be. And I must say...just made it for dinner tonite! For anyone on the fence about this recipe...if you haven't tried it, TRY IT! It has to be the best meatloaf, not to mention mashed potatoes, ever! The meatloaf is so rich, it doesn't take much to satisfy your hunger. I have a bad habit of playing with new recipes as I cook...can't resist making some changes here and there. For some reason, this just felt right so I made it exactly as it is written and I can't imagine any changes would make it any better. In the written recipe, you suggest that if I don't like mashed potatoes too thin, then remove about half the water before smashing. I did do that and am glad I did. They were just as you describe...rich and creamy and satiny. Thanks so much for this recipe. I will definitely be looking at your other vids more closely now. I think I have found a winner.
I have made at least 10 of your instant pot recipes. My meatloaf looked like yours and was so yummy especially the sauce. My potatoes had too much liquid for amount of potatoes but I found a work around. Thank you for all the videos & step by step recipes with fairly simple ingredients. I am not an intuitive cook but you have helped me experiment with new dishes.
I've been making meatloaf for a few weeks now in my IP, and I just put it in a foil boat in loaf form. I put the potatoes on the bottom as you do, and its really easy, with like zero clean-up because the justices just stay in the foil. Love your glaze idea though, that extra step makes a meatloaf even more yummy! The hubby loves meatloaf, thank God.
Same here! My husband's favorite meal is Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes! Along with Pinto Beans, Cole Slaw and Homemade Cornbread! A very Southern Homemade Hungry Man Meal, lol! Just made some a few days ago and have a few leftover still in the fridge! I can't wait to try in my IP next time! I forget to use it sometimes. Going to start keeping it on the counter tops to remedy this problem! 😄
I just did this recipe for the 2nd time. It has quickly become one of my husband's favorite dishes. The only thing I did differently was drain some of the liquid from the mashed potatoes so that aren't so soupy! I love your recipes!!!
Just bought an Instant Pot 8 QT. Steve- I made your chicken pot pie a couple days ago. The family said the best I have ever made! Big hit! I am excited to make this meatloaf and mashed potatoes today. Please keep the Instant Pot recipes coming!!
My instant pot came today. I immediately hit up youtube for some easy recipes and landed here. Printed your recipe and went to the store. Got what I needed, came home and used the instant pot for the first time. My family (including my picky brother who said "I don't like meatloaf") ate it, and went back for seconds. The mashed potatoes were amazing, and the meatloaf was so tender. Fantastic stuff here. Thanks Jeffrey!
STOP!!!! Rule #1 NO GREASE IN THE SINK. You save old spaghetti sauce jars and pour it into the jar until its full then throw it in the trash. Silly billy🤣
I use old paper towels to soak it out of a pan, and old coffee cans to pour it off into the can. I was thinking, that must be a rental house, or apartment because no homeowner would do that to their plumbing. That can completely obstruct a pipe under a slab. Then you have to snake it or bust the floors up. Yikes! That being said, I do love him and his content. I have made some of his recipes and included them into our family favorites. 😀
Absolutely love this recipe! The best ever! Just a tip that I use is to take a long piece of tin foil and fold it into a thick type of a fan that becomes a handle. You put it underneath your meatloaf pan and fold over the top and it becomes a handle so that when you are ready to take the meatloaf out of the instant pot, you just use your home made handles. Works awesome!
I made this twice. It is definitely terrific!! I did this from your book!! I would recommend this to anyone and made meatloaf enjoyable. Thank you Jeffrey for another great meal.
I made this last night and I want to thank you for this idea. My meatloaf came out so juicy and flavorful and the mashed potatoes were magnificent. Thank you again. I'm following you now 😂
I just got an instapot for Christmas so I've been obsessively looking for recipes. Your channel has some amazing things I can't wait to try. I will have to substitute some things because I have the unfortunate problem of being allergic to everything in the onion family. But I'm sure it will still come out tasting amazing. Also using the bundt pan is genius. thanks for sharing this.
We made this. Probably will make it in the oven like regular from now on. It was good, it was fun to try but I’m more of a fan of the classic version. The part of this video that drove me nuts was you pouring grease down the drain. Lol. Don’t do that.
Just made it tonight, by far the best meat loaf I’ve ever had. EVER. Only change I made was I mixed everything first before adding in the meat and instead of dry parsley I used dry fenugreek leaves. This recipe is probably the best recipe on this channel!
Made this for the 2nd time -- it's so good (though I did use my own recipe for the meatloaf). I did add aluminum foil straps to the trivet and it really helped pull out the bundt pan (of course it helps to have a 2nd pair of hands -- thanks to my hubby). Also it's works out really well when you measure your Better Thank Bullion (BTB), to put your measuring spoon (preferably a metal spoon) in the hot water first to warm it up before you measure the BTB. That way it slips right off without sticking to the spoon. Looking forward to more recipes (or as my grandmother used to say "receipts.")
My 13yr old son loves your videos and is a fan of many of your recipes, tonight I let him make this by himself (ok I read ingredients off and was the pause and play person for the video on the iPad) I wish I could post a picture of how his turned out! It was DELICIOUS!!!!!! Ty Jeffrey for sharing recipes that even my children can follow and execute to make a family meal!
I have never been a fan of meatloaf but made this recipe for my family. OMG it was delicious, everybody loved it, including me! Thank you so much 😋😋❤️❤️
Oh my god. I just made this tonight. Wow. this was so good. I had the wrong size bundt pan and I didn't realize you had the pan in your receipt itself but I still made it work and it turned out wonderful. I used a 6" bundt pan and it was overflowing. The Mash potatoes was a killer and the meatloaf was super juicy. I used a pound of beef and a pound of pork and worked out just fine. The sauce that was made I was a little leery but it really helped the meatloaf. If you haven't tried this you need too...
Jeffrey-I just made this and it was by far the most moist meatloaf I’ve ever made! Thank you so much for all you do...can’t wait for the cookbook! 👍🏻👏🏻😉
I don't eat red meat but I made this for my husband & he can't stop raving about it. I'm new to Ninja Foodi Airfry/Instapot combo. I did the meatloaf only - no potatoes. I have the 6.5 Qt. I did not use the bundt pan (although I have the exact one!) because it did not seem to fit well. It could have just been because I had to figure out the rubber gasket was out of its slot so I couldn't get the pressure lid closed. I just formed foil around the sides as suggested and placed on the upside down wire rack. I just put about 1.5 C water in bottom for pressure cooker. I also didn't have BBQ sauce so just used xtra ketchup with a little Worcestershire. I was out of whole eggs so used a few egg whites that I had frozen. I used about 1.6 lb ground 80/20 + 4 pork sausage patties (round). I ground up some saltine crackers and dried out baguette for the binder. After the pressure cook I put on the glaze, cut away the side foil and hit broil until it was the way I wanted it. Even with all these modifications it turned out great! Oh, I also used an idea from another recipe and pushed little pieces of cubed cheese into the loaf before cooking (make sure you close up the holes.)
AWSOME! I just got my new Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer and this was my first time cooking in an instant pot. I’m totally in love with this meatloaf. The only thing I did differently was I used crushed Ritz crackers instead of breadcrumbs. I flipped my meatloaf onto foil and finished up baking at 400 on bake with the crisper top then brushed on the glaze and broiled for about 2 minutes. Perfect! My husband was so impressed! Thanks so much for inspiring me with your videos.
I was scared too death of my pressure cooker! The instructions that come with it are so BAD. I attempted a basic chicken recipe by myself and it was coming up Burn and steam was flying out. Hahaha. It sat for 4 months so I have been watching you and I just tried one of your recipes. The saute and then cook feature is so great! My food came out fantastic. Thank-You so much! No more burning messages and steam flying out!
*NEVER pour fats, oils, or greases down the drain. They're a huge problem for water treatment plants. Instead, use the tin foil to make a small "bowl" (a square or circular container w/sides) & pour them into that. After they cool you can just close the top & toss it. Or, use a leftover can & pour your waste into that.*
We got an Instant pot for Christmas. I made one meal in it and really don’t know it well yet. Last night, I followed this recipe and made the meatloaf. It was absolutely amazing. Thanks so much for sharing this. I look forward to watching more and making more meals that you recommend. Great channel. Thanks for also putting in the time it takes to make these videos.
This was the BEST meatloaf recipe I have ever tried! I cooked mine in the oven (because I was making yogurt in my Instant Pot at the time) and it came out beautiful. Moist and flavorful!
Hi all, my husband and I made this last night. It is not a fast, quick meal so don't plan on this if you have somewhere to be. It was absolutely worth it though. The meatloaf and the potatoes were so full of flavor. I'm loving this channel and have saved many recipes that I can't wait to try! Thanks pressureluck!!!
Just got my IP a couple of months ago and I joined two FB IP groups on Christmas Eve. When people asked where to find great recipes, I thought I would share my secret favorite RU-vidr for instant pot. Guess what? Everyone mentioned Pressure Luck! Not such a secret lol! You're fun to watch and everything always looks easy and yummy!
Wow! Jeff this dish looks amazing! I am going to have to try this out! Great job on your presentation! I so love watching you and Richard. I can’t wait to see what you have coming up next. Love ya both!
I made this for the 2nd time now using ground turkey for a healthy alternative. I so appreciate your recipes Jeff...everything I've made from your site has far exceeded my expectations. I have always liked meatloaf, but this recipe is beyond belief...and the bundt pan that you linked makes all the difference. Thank you Jeff for your dedication to creating scrumptious one pot meals.
The only meatloaf recipe I've made is the one my mom made. Its literally a box of stuffing mix, 1lb ground beef, 1/2 cup milk, some worcestershire sauce, and a beaten egg. The seasonings come from the stuffing mix. It's a very economic meal when you can find the stuffing for 99cents a box.
I just made it. Followed your recipe exactly. Husband is sitting here eating it and can't stop saying how good it is. The only thing I would do different is cut way back on the garlic in the potatoes but that is just a personal preference. Thank you!!!!
I’m making G your best ever pot roast for my first instant pot meal. Can’t wait to taste it as it smells amazing. I just saved your meatloaf and mashed potatoes to try later in the week. I’m really Impressed with you’re presentation and teaching skills. Thank you!
The problem isn't your little sink. Multiply that little bit by thousands of people who think it's "just a little bit" and it becomes a major problem for cities. Just one example: newyork.cbslocal.com/2017/01/17/grease-dumping-sewers-queens/
Just got an instant pot recently and have used it every single day to make my family dinner. I love it so much I got two for my large family! The 8qt and the 10qt. I like your recipes and your attitude.
Made this meatloaf for dinner tonight. I have to avoid gluten so I used gluten free breadcrumbs and was hoping the it wouldn’t affect the recipe. OMG!!! This was easily the best loaf I’ve ever had!!! Can’t wait for leftovers. Might have to throw caution to the wind and have a meatloaf sandwich with some of the glaze I saved. So delicious!!!
My husband says I landed him with a meatloaf! I cooked him his own mini meatloaf and he was hooked. Say you on Rachael Ray and no he wants this meatloaf and mashed potatoes as his birthday cake going forward LOL. And he keeps asking when we are buying an Instant Pot
Ok, I didn’t have the right size bundt pan and my impatient ass wanted to make this TODAY so I just used a round Pyrex bowl for the meatloaf. That’s where I messed up at cuz the meatloaf wasn’t done after 30 min. But the mashed potatoes came out wonderful. The garlic & herb cheese makes it delicious! But the meatloaf is in the oven now finishing cooking...
So between your channel and a few others, I was convinced to get an instant pot a couple weeks ago. I've been doing your recipe's. I've done your chicken and dumplings, and I made this today. Both...are...just amazing. I'm going to be digging back in time and trying more of your recipes. SERIOUSLY....this meatloaf is better than the restaurants near me. You have upped my kitchen game man. thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Looks great! And pretty soon, you’ll be needing a plumber. Get a coffee can and pour that grease into it...store under the sink...Hubby and I are retired from our own plumbing business. But, the food looks great, thank you!🌷🚍
This is where I'm glad I have A Ninja Foodi and InstaPot, I do it in the Foodi and I don't have to move to oven, I just move my potatoes to a bowl to mash and hit my broil button on the Foodi. Love your recipes!!
So my husband and I just made your chili (from your cookbook, but we watched the video for extra support). It's cooling in the fridge to enjoy tomorrow. I've already eaten dinner, and yet now I've just watched this video and...I'm hungry again! Thank you for your delightful videos -- they are engaging and informative, and for this Jersey girl, transplanted uneasily for over 20 years on the West coast, you are truly the Voice of Home.
Sounds SO good. I've never had negative connotation for meatloaf. ALWAYS loved it!! Have tried different recipes, some better than others. Will definitely try yours!
Omg!!! Made this for my husband and myself tonight.....it was amazing! Best meatloaf I’ve ever had! So flavorful...and the glaze!....and the potatoes- wow, knocked this out of the park!
I made this last night. I used 3 lbs of yukon gold potatoes and the rest of the ingredients. The potatoes were so loose that I had to strain them with a mesh sieve. I didn't even add the cream! The flavor was delish (beyond delish!), but if I do this again, I'll drain the potatoes before mashing. The meatloaf was sooo good and tender and the glaze was awesome!
I love your videos. Very helpful in learning how to use my new instant pot. Have you done any videos showing what kind of containers you can use in the Ip? I have a folding steamer thingy, but it has a plastic knob on it, so I'm assuming that I can't use it? Also, is a ceramic or glass bowl ok? Would love to see a vid on what you can and cannot use in the IP. Thanks for all the great recipes. :) And thank your mother for sharing her mum's cabbage roll recipe. My husband loves them.
I made the meatloaf-only part of this recipe tonight, and it was DELICIOUS! I got the bundt pan you suggested, and it came out perfect: moist, tender, really great. My partner loved it too. Your channel has become my favorite in fewer than 3 days. Thanks!
I’ve made this 3 times since I found this recipe back in the fall. It is AMAZING, and I’m actually going to serve it to guests who have 2 sons! And I ordered the book today.
Did u use veil? Just wondering if you don't use it if it's as good lol? I've never even seen it at a grocery store but then again never exactly looked for it lol.
You should NEVER pour oil down your sink. It will eventually hardened up and clog your drains. The best way to get rid of it is to pour the oil over some paper towels, then roll up the aluminum foil that you used to cover your meatloaf around the oily paper towels and throw in trash.
Same here @@MichelLinschoten . When I empty a jar, I save it for when I cook up a bunch of hamburger. Your plumber will love you if you don't pour it down the drain. That happened once to my brother in law, his kids started cooking and poured the grease down the drain...when he tore it apart, it was just a solid pipe of grease. Even if you use hot water, it still will cool down along the way and solidify.
Jeffrey...I made this tonight. Excellent! Thank-you. I think next time I will make a “sling” with HD foil (folded three times over) and place it under the bunt pan. That should make it much easier to extract the meatloaf from the inner pot. I also used red potatoes quartered except personal preference, I removed the skins. 👨🍳👍
Just bought my instant pot and decided the first meal would be this meatloaf dish. Happy to report that it turned out great. Thank you so much for the easy to follow recipe.
I am so glad I googled instapot meatloaf. This is by far the best meatloaf recipe ever. My daughter & her boyfriend loved it. Bye Bye Oven. I have my once-a-month favorite recipe. Savory, moist and delish!
