Instant Pot - Navy Bean Soup - 100 year old Recipe

Using an "Instant Pot", you can make traditional Navy Bean soup in a few hours instead of an entire day. By-the-way, this recipe is nearly 100 years old.
INGREDIENTS:
1 lbs Navy Bean or Great Northern Beans
Ham hocks or subsitute
2- cups of Chicken broth
4 cups of water
1 Onion - diced
1 Celery stalk - diced
1 Carrot - diced
1 Russet potato - roughly sliced into cubes
Dill Seed - teaspoon
Garlic Powder - teaspoon
Black Pepper - teaspoon
DIRECTIONS:
Dice onion, celery, and carrot. Chop potato into bite-size cubes. Measure out your spices.
Rinses your beans and put them into the Instant Pot and pour in the broth and water. Then add the beans and all the other ingredients.
Next securely place the lid on the pot.
Now set to “Manual” for 60 minutes and wait for the “ON” button to light -up.
When it's finished cooking it will “BEEP” and will begin to gradually release the pressure. This will take about 30 to 40 minutes. CAUTION: be sure to release the remaining steam before you open the lid.
There is a quick release feature, but I don't use it unless I am in a hurry.

I grew up on navy bean soup that my grandfather made! He moved in with my family when I was 1yr old and stayed until I moved out at 18. He moved out with me and lived with me until his death! This was my sister and my favorite soup! I make it a couple times a year for us as a tradition. I haven't made in my pressure cooker yet. I am going to try! I have been afraid of messing it up, lol! Considering that at 53yrs old and my 52yr old sister laugh and cry when we have this soup. It was just that special. You make it look easy. Thank you!

I have used my grandmother's recipe for so many years and it is always perfect. Today I thought I would try yours. The only thing I didn't care for was the taste of the dill seed it gave the beans. Everyone has different likes. Not saying anything bad. The timing and everything else was great.

@@UFOBobTV, just a tip from my grandmother, use Lawry's seasoning salt for a better taste. I just add what I need according to my taste. OHHH,,, ,,, you don't really believe in Unidentified Flying Objects,,,,, I can tell you the truth,,,,, There is 1 God that looks over us all,.... As for some having more than others,,,, and some having nothing..... That is Mankind in control of his own situation,,,,.... I often pray that I could share my meal with those that are so unfortunate,,,,, But I would only able to help , so few,,,, in a world that is so very upside down... It hurts me that I'm unable to help alll.....
