Done mine now, it looks awesome in blue and I'll change the needle colour to white at some point when I get the right led part no. Thanks, Mike for the step-by-step video and thanks to Roger who also gave me some advice. 👍
Excellent work!! I wish I knew that winding trick when I put mine back together!! Been reading MPH FUEL and revs all wrong for ages 🤬🤬 next job on my list lol
I bet that’s a nightmare, but yeah fairly easy to set, easier than I thought it would be, hardest bit was explaining it while doing it and trying to film it 😂
G 😊 Great Video mate, I’ve been thinking of doing this to my fiesta, I did it with a ka and that was a challenge, ps- the coin holder Clock thermometer is a nightmare to get hold of I even contacted the main Dealership they said will be in stock soon. Hopefully 🎉🎉 🎉
@@MendItModIt u welcome mike …did get a lot of mk6 owners asking how the cluster leds r done …saves me explaining now for those wishing to have a go at it ,more so all the rest of the switches etc …😂😂….so if any one is reading this and is thinking of having a bash at any of the led conversions in mike’s vids …it’s not that difficult just need a tad of patience …u won’t find better vids on this subject with a step by step guide …nice job mike 😎😎… feel its to complicated then send me a message on fb ( link to myself is in description ) …
One thing i really don't like in mine is the green everywhere. Also appreciate the subtle background to the dials you chose. I've some Mountune bits to fit so this is def something I'd like done to mine, it'd tie in really nicely. Already have my aftermarket stereo a;ready set to white so this'd look great in the flesh. Love the screenshot option for those brave enough to try it. As usual a thoroughly enjoyable video with clear easy and concise instructions. I even bought a soldering tower after your previous ones but seems a bit advanced to dive into for a first job!
I’d say this is one of the easiest I’ve done. A lot of people go for full colour images on the clocks but I think the subtle effect is definitely better.
Clock glass like to rattle.. all since started polybushing.. so just wanted to refit it and the dials not seeing anyone doing dial cards but now I'm like I need some!
@@MendItModIt haha, yeah I got a TT vent that give me hassle at times or it's the clocks, I think it was the plastic glass but maybe it's the metal part you had to push back. The dial card is not cheap but it's unique and yours looks awesome. I think I just want a black and get rid of the kmh, and maybe a change of the lines. Looking forward to your next videos!
3 videos later and actually found one that mentions every single screw and thing you have to take out. Half the videos either people have multiple screws missing or pre took out so looks to easy until it comes to it.
What you could have done is take photos of the position of the needles while in TEST mode prior to disassembling the instrument cluster. You set RPM in test mode, snap a photo. You set some reasonable speed - you snap a photo. Or better yet - set the wanted variable in test mode and make a little note with a pencil on the mask. If going with photos, the photos should be taken from as perpendicular position to the instrument cluster as possible. That way you'll know what was the exact position of the needle prior to disassembly.
Does this have to be done with PCB led diodes? I’ve done a couple of the other interior buttons with the standard 2 stalk LED and they work fine do you reckon this will work on the cluster too? Nvm done it and it works fine
If I want to change only the leds colour, I have to take off the needles or I could skip that part? By the way you have awsome videos! 2 Fiestas are waiting for me :D
Benim göstergenin ışıkları araba çalışırken birden sönüyor sonra tekrar yanıyor.ibreler sıfıra düşüyor ama araç çalışmaya devam ediyor.sebebi ne olabilir yardımcı olursanız cok mutlu olurum😊
I have to resolder the contacts on mine but I just have one question about the fuel gauge. I noticed that every time I put fuel in and top it, the gauge goes a fair bit above the 1/1 mark, is that normal or should it point directly to 1/1?
@@jayotterautomotive I never dissasembled the thing, it was like that from the beginning, it could be that the previous owner did it and poorly since the dash is going out again.
I wish I could mate, but I know I guy who can. Check out this link facebook.com/profile.php?id=100091357681412 my good friend Roger does the conversions for people and he helped me out with mine. Get in touch with him and he’ll sort you out 👍🏻 let him know you came from me 😉
