I just finally taught myself to do the beachy waves with my InStyler! It took a couple tries...I should've waited...I could've just learned from you...lol. It was so helpful that you filmed it from the back. I always get so confused when I look straight on in a tutorial...I"m directionally challenged. I did get a lot of compliments in a recent video where I wore my hair like this :)

Angie, Love you’re channel! Would you ever consider doing a comparison on you’re makeup routine from say 2014, like this look, with you’re current routine. Talking about what you’ve learned to do differently. I love how your makeup has evolved and would love to see your comments about how you would have fixed your look from 2014. Even though it looked good then, it looks even more polished now. Thank you for breaking things down and doing the research you do, I’ve learned a ton!

I bought this after your first video, and I love it. Like you, I am hair-challenged. However, I now have salon-like hair every day. It does take a bit of practice to get used to the reverse image in the mirror. It really has been life-changing. I know, I know - it's just hair, but it has been life-changing. I "owe" it all to you - thanks so much! Truly. PS I hope you check out the new InStyler Tulip.

Hi Angie...I gotta agree with everyone and say you look fantastic!! I have been looking at this instyler and I have a question ..whats the diff between using this or just wrapping your hair around a wand yourself? I know it has the spinning brush..do you think that makes a big difference? Hope this question didn't come across wrong! Im honestly back and forth as to if I want this and just had to ask your opinion! Kat xx

Good morning Angie,it's Angie too. What is the size of the barrel? I got the one that is 1 1/4 I think there was smaller one.
@MetsterAnn
@MetsterAnn 10 лет назад
I bought a clone In styler product, but it acts more as a flatiron. It has the rotating part, but doesn't make curls. My hair is much shorter and thicker than yours though, I've wondered if I could get a nice style from the real thing? I tend not to use curling iron products without clamps because burns happen. I found my old rock n roller (I think that's the name) hot rollers. They flip over themselves so you don't need a clip, and they can either do a spiral type wave or a 50s pin curl. Fun but wow, I see them on ebay for 80 bucks! Glad I saved mine but they do take a while to heat. I guess Angie, I'm not going to look like you whoever much I want to. :). Thanks for sharing.

I guess I don't understand what this adds over a regular curling iron? It seems like if you have to curl it around the barrel and hold it there, that you might as well just be using a standard curling iron, no? I'd love your insight on what it is this adds...
@heatherramsey9190
@heatherramsey9190 3 года назад
I own a similar device. What is adds over a curling iron is that the bristles and barrel are giving it a much smoother and shinier appearance. A regular curling iron cannot curl and give a sleek texture at the same time - but this can. So its just more convenient.

Hi Kristinn, I just bought the L'Oreal "Sleek It" hot iron spray and it locks in the shine, proctects against frizz, and locks in the style for 3 whole days. You'll love it. I got it At Walmart on a recommendation from "Laura Shakeup" and it does exactly what she said it would. Locks in the style! You'll LOVE it! xoxo :-)

I just HAD to chime in here & state that you look ABSOLUTELY radiant, Angie! Are you still doing the same skincare routine as you listed in your last skincare video or has anything changed? While I have just turned 40 this month, I have the skin of a teenager--and I don't mean that in a good way! LOL! Dealing w/ a lot of hormonal acne, scarring & of course, pigmentation issues. You've stated that you deal/have dealt with similar issues & your skin looks GREAT! Keep up the great, in-depth reviews that you do--it's hard work, but your subscribers are ever so grateful to you!
@AngieHotandFlashy
@AngieHotandFlashy 9 лет назад
Jen Baca Thanks so much Jen! Yes, my skincare routine is still the same as my most recent video on it with one exception... I've switched my daily sunscreen to Elta MD UV Clear spf 46... it's specifically formulated to help keep acne prone skin clear, and I'm happy to say I think it works!
@jenbaca946
@jenbaca946 9 лет назад
***** I will definitely have to try the Elta MD UV sunscreen. I know you had been using the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunscreen before which is what I have been using too--what is the difference in the two that you are noticing & what made you change?
@AngieHotandFlashy
@AngieHotandFlashy 9 лет назад
Elta MD UV Clear is a physical sunscreen that also contains niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and lactic acid. It's made specifically for people with sensitive skin, rosacea or acne. I tried it to see if it would help my acne, and I think it's more calming for my skin while the chemical sunscreens in the Neutrogena can be slightly irritating.

Great video! In reference to your bed head, I don't know if anyone else does this? when I wake up with 2nd day bed head hair, I bend over and apply the blow dryer heat all over my head first , I think it re acitivates the products and fluffs my hair out. It seems to make a difference. Then I style as usual. xoxo

See you have the same problem as I do, some hair Get Good curl and some not so much. Think you would have loved the new BabyLiss Curl Secret, it takes the hair into a chamber so no need to hold the hair or burn Your fingers.
@maremacd
@maremacd 10 лет назад
I'm confused. If you held it upright, rather than facing down, when doing the right side, wouldn't it spin in the correct direction? BTW, do you still recommend the John Freda styler?
@AngieHotandFlashy
@AngieHotandFlashy 10 лет назад
maremacd Yes, but then the curl is made upside down and doesn't come out right. Because of the "V" shape of the tool you would have to put the thickest part of the hair toward the bottom of the V and wrap the hair up toward the opening so when you release it the curl comes out funky.

Do you apply the heat protector before drying your hair or before culing your hair???
@AngieHotandFlashy
@AngieHotandFlashy 10 лет назад
sheilita bonachea I use Alterna Caviar CC Cream leave in 10-in-1 before I blow dry (it contains a heat protector), then if I use the InStyler I use the Tresemme heat protector spray as well.

Hi Angie, What is the diameter of the instyler in your video? Not sure which one to order.
@PowerToolsnPearls
@PowerToolsnPearls 6 лет назад
Jacki Stevens , I think they only come in two sizes and she’s using the larger one. My cousin had the smaller and I tried it once. My hair has natural curls and I was trying to get rid of frizz and flyaways. The smaller barrel on my hair running it through as you would to give body and maybe a flip on the end left me with an Afro. I’d consider the smaller barrel for hard to curl hair or if you’re looking to have curly hair every time you use it. Granted, this was simply the way my hair reacted. I can’t actually speak for how it works on everyone. I’d say at the near $100 price point, you should be allowed to return a unit not appropriate for your hair or style needs.

+HotandFlashy I found my magnifying mirrors ,of all places, at the DOLLAR store. They work great. I bought about 10 at once for fear they'll stop carrying them there..and the diameter is bigger than most and you can see practically ones whole face ( 7 -8 inches) that are suction cup style. It's lightweight for travel. If it breaks ,which Ive never had one do yet, while traveling I've not lost out financially.

On the right side, isn't the barrel spinning against the natural way of your hair??
@blondwiththewind
@blondwiththewind 6 лет назад
I'm not sure if her In-Styler is the same model.....but there is an In-Styler MAX that if you clap it together twice, it will turn in the opposite direction....so on the other side of your head you could have the barrel turning "with" your hair, rather than "against" it. I agree: that would be healthier for your hair, and would keep the cuticle laying flatter to keep the hair a bit shinier and stronger.
