This Type R came with pulley issues.
We were supposed to install the new LHT/GripTec pulleys.
We ended up spending countless hours fixing and rebuilding the bracket assembly, missing parts, bolts and houses etc.
We also find the engine has low compression pistons, a stock 1st gen B16a head and aggressive cams..All make a difficult combination .

Brings back memories. So many components to tinker with, making it fun to modify cars. Miss my B18CR swapped Integra, also had a JRSC on it.

In 1998 I was graduating high school, driving and ricing out my hand-me-down base model 89 Camry 5MT, reading Super Street magazine and wishing I had a Honda! 3 years later I sold the Camry and bought my GSR.

JRSC always sounded so good on these cars, not the most power vs turbo but still sounded great

My setup only made 240whp@7psi but the responsiveness and linear powerband are wild. Can't even see the VTEC crossover on my dyno sheet, it's literally a straight line canted upwards. Crazy difference compared to my previous 177whp n/a setup that only made power past 6k

I just put a JRSC on my high comp 94 GS-R, 11.5-11.6:1 compression and pro1+ cams on e85 with the 3.8 pulley, love it runs great super responsive. Only downside is the IATs, I saw as high as 245F after a long rip. Will probably add water injection pre+supercharger for this season and send my manifold out to LHT to get intercooler welded in over winter. Glad people are still supporting these kits! A B18C with low end torque is a beautiful thing

geez that setup was poorly slapped together..the cams were first gen skunk2 tuner 2s..valve float was waiting to happen with stock valvetrain..the missing o ring in the caps wouldve had owner guessing why vtec wasnt kicking in..i feel bad for that itr if owner let all that fly..good thing lht came to the rescue

Hey, great video as usual! Just wanted to chime in, those are Skunk 2 Stage 2 cams with the old etching, pre-2011 (H08) I'm running the same ones on a built head.

I have a JRSC kith with an LHT modified manifold and the griptech pullies. Can't wait to finish the car. One issue I need to resolve, John give some guidance, is the SC pully is rubbing on the casing when torqued.

Love the recent (and previous) JRSC content! For the hose that goes between the charger and the s tube, what do you guys recommend to use for a replacement? Mine looks questionable on the used kit i purchased. I wasn't sure if a cut section of radiator hose would hold up.

Someday, I'll make it back to FL, will bring my turbo 5th gen prelude to get better ic piping, and ic. And maybe have you guys clean up the engine bay, for sure could use that TLC

@LHTPerformance when I put the car together, I just bought an intercooler kit, didn't realize how not efficient that intercooler is. Tuner and I saw during a pull in 3rd 2.5k to 7k iat go from 113 to 144f. I got a little creative using a washer pump from a wagon, the rear setting sprays the ic with water for evaporative cooling but it's not a long term solution.

What hp and tq did the Type R make on the dyno? Honda Pro Jason should have bought the LHT intercooler, TB etc setup.

So if the rear wheel is too wide to retract into the body of the SuperCompacto, is it time for a widebody kit? If you flared out the body to allow the rear tire to retract, it would give it a more sporty look. A widebody kit tells everyone you have a unique custom vehicle.

I learned something new. Superchargers don't like CAI's. My JRSC Prelude has an AEM CAI. Guess its time to look for a new intake.

@@LHTPerformance Sounds like a custom solution is in order because I don't think anyone made anything bigger than 2.5/2.75 for the h22.

@@onnu2001 you need at least a 3”. AEM used to make a lot of 3” intakes back in the day you could possibly look into a cut down. 3.5” is better.

Which is the best B-series engine to run the jrsc? I've always been under the impression that the jrsc wasn't the best fit for a b18c5. The ITR engine making power up top, and the jrsc making low/mid peak efficiency.

@@sl33per1 the Type R motor is just fine. With out full package you have efficient power all the way to 8500 rpm’s.

Dont let the peak power numbers fool you, JRSC feels great in these on the street. My dyno curve is almost a straight line, makes torque all over now vs only up top. Makes for a really really fun backroads/togue setup, always have immediate torque waiting for you on corner exit

​@@LHTPerformancewhen I send my manifold to you guys to get done over winter I could send my original cast bracket with to scan. Gonna try to tame the IATs with water injection until the end of the season, gonna need the intercooler for sure next season though. I saw 245F IATs with 3.8 snout pulley and stock crank pulley on Sunday 😅
