As an ITR owner I have to say that your review comes very close to my experience. Too bad this car does not have a aftermarket intake. i've test driven one completley stock and that's cool because the VTEC is veyr present but wait till you hear and feel the VTEC through an AEM intake. That scream. Oh god. The B18C6 is a fucking masterpiece. Like the whole car actually. If you're a car enthousiast who loves driving, buy this car. Just buy it. It's the best thing that's happenend to me. Treasure it, love it but most of all drive it. Hard.

NineEleven1 b18c5 ;) and i agree since i owned one for 4 years, aem cold air intake is only mod u need! Musical perfection, but i ended up adding a 2.5' (jdm version) mugen twinloop and it was magical! What an exhaust! Not an annoying drone or stupid loud that resonator and loop in it does what its supposed to. That combo of both is untouchable, still hear inside and out of the car a clean acceleration. Hope i can own one again one day

Daniel Kiersnowski I actually now have a plm header decat and tanabe racing catback. also had a remap. It pulls strong but I think the remap could be better. it's a street tunr and haven't dynoed it yet. it's loud. the sound is so overwhelming other people can't hear their own car in a race lol

Great video! I had a GS-R for years, few people understand the true beauty of the stock 1.8 that thing has. It's always about superchargers and turbos to most people... this thing was like a violin right out of the box!

+CrazyLazyDave not to mention the extra metal added to B-pillars, rear fender wells and rear subframe for more stiffness. a lot of people really dont understand how important the body is to a typeR for those peaople that make typeR clones and think there car is a real typeR now because they shaved the sides, bolted on some typeR shit and painted yellow, i only say this because ive met people that really think there clones are real and worth real typeR money.

It's good to see younger people appreciating the ITR. You forgot to mention the most important suspension piece, the LSD (limited slip differential) which contributes to the (arguably) best handling FWD car in existence. Even nowadays not many cars come with an LSD. Also, the stock tires were very soft rubber and I'll never forget the impression the car made during my first autocross event back in '98. So, I recommend driving an ITR that has summer tires for an eye opening experience. Owner of ITR #079

Try about 5000€(around the same in dollars) for one in Ireland. Sometimes less. The Irish insurance industry screwed up big time financially, so are passing that on to customers. Insurance costs have gone insane and a car like a Type R is beyond the reach of most. Cars over ten years old, even 1 litre Micras etc are refused by some companies.

The Japanese car scene in the states is so small! You's would love Ireland. All the cars that are rare over there are common over here. There are 5 integras in my village and around my little area you see a twin cam every day. Japanese cars are huge here. If only America had the same culture because the fuel is so cheap and the insurance isn't even a big deal. I'd move straight away! Love the channel!!! 💕

Congrats on 50K. Love the video.. very rare color on the Integra. Nice review. UHM... but dude... "With these older Hondas, the 3rd gear synchro doesn't always want to give you love back to you whenever your DRIVING it. But this is only when you are DRIVING it really hard and when you're doing real, REAL hard shifting." **SMILES** This s a car review right Evan, not some porn review... ☺️

+Mark Maligec I recently bought a Type R and I also have that synchro issue. I got fresh MTF3 in the tranny but it still crunches on a hard upshift into thrid. Needless to say I slowed down my shifting and that works fine. It's not worth destroying the synchro completly.

Test drove a 2001 Type R at Temecula Honda, I so wanted it, but was not to be.. they also had a prelude new & new Type R in the showroom, not long after that the RSX arrived, saw them in Costa Mesa Acura, & yes Agreed that this car does not need anything added to it like a turbo, There was just something about that baby you new was so very Unique, unlike anything out there..Bravo

DC2 Integras in general are such incredible cars. I'll point out that this is probably the ONLY front wheel drive car I'd ever willingly buy and use for racecar purposes.

The USDM ITR did not have a rear strut tower brace, only a front one. The rear was just an option for the JDM and probably other markets (UKDM, EDM, AUDM). Still, amazing video.

I was going to buy Type R back in 2000 but the only dealership in town only has 1 and its black color. They wanted $5,000 mark up on top of MSRP so I got the GSR instead.

I believe the Integra Type R is stil a benchmark for modern FWD Sports cars after all these years. I never liked those front lights though, I'd trade them for the straight ones IMO. Nice review Evan, congrats on 50K :)

love this car, my m8 recently had a crash in one at a track, did 80mph into a tyre wall, it was a Honda integra Type R, was an import straight from Japan, to wales (where i live), and they had to sell and scrap it, it was a right off!! :-( Awesome vid Evan, love all yr content!!

In 2000's Carbon fiber was soo expensive compared to now in 2018 but they wanted to add that race touch so they added a fake carbon fiber parts but it was inovative back in 2000, the price was 17'000 usd for the car witch has a LSD, 1150KG and full Titanium gearshifter with climatecontrol + handmade Enegine... it beated 8 lap records across europe and has the most stolen enegine of 2000's because it beated Ferrari in power per liter N/A for 5 years! After that the lead was stolen from s2000, DC2 Thats going to be my first car !

@7:10 Understeer was from overcooking the corner, trying to accelerate before the apex, and continuing to add more steering input mid corner. Yeah, tires play a part, but watching your driving habits in the video show lack of real track experience. So maybe the claim of "driving far better than others ever hope of" is a bit farfetched.
