hiii guys...very good project...loved it...we are testing the same on a large scale in mahindra so the things becomes cost efficient...space constraint also becomes an issue with these brakes...n the most basic thing the indian market still has to grow up for these systems and safety....you guys have done a great job...keep up the good work
Good work. I have second thoughts... You show your vehicle's speed not more than 20kmph (just rough guess) and it does stop at VERY, VERY CLOSE PROXIMITY. Problem with this going in real life situation is as follows: 1) Real time vehicle speeds which cross 40+ speeds (ignoring a heavy traffic) cannot be brought to rest the way you have done. 2) You have not considered the inertia. The people in the driver seat and other passengers will face forward jerk if you stop the vehicle at such proximity. I wonder what your teachers have to say... Do give me a feedback on this.
It's a very good concept of a smart brake system. But when an obstacle comes in the range of infrared sensor it brakes the wheel suddenly without measuring the speed of the wheel that may run at high speed and sudden brake may create a new accident. but for this problem, you can increase the range of the sensor and brake the wheel slowly.
when the vechile goes through the traffic we need to reduce sensing ( or power of rays) power of braking system.so when we reduce sensing power , when vechile overtaking by the careless of a driver the collision will be occur.

Good project guys..even if automatic braking is introduced by various companies.. The inclination system is very good.. But there are some pratical problems considering the inertia of heavy vehicles and the things carried by the vehicle..hope you understand and best of luck for implementing on a heavy vehicle..
your project was good but it works with high speed? because your vehicle is tested with 5km/hr i guess , with that speed normal brakes works good too . so , make this brakes test with atleast 50km/hr speed
Make a big aneroid barometer an it will turned a turbine so electricity production become easy by using leverage and gear system so the global energy crisis for clean energy sources become history forever
it's the same as any other automatic braking system... a simple sensor and and activating valve... you should be able to build something like this in 20 min's... It looks like it's a very dumb controller also as it's sensor range is short and it just jams on the brakes rather the preforming an "abs" like stopping.
Yaa absolutely good project but I have one doubt, whenever the object came in front of vehicle it was stop, what happened in parking, what happened some one stands infront of vehicle we need to came back(reverse gear), u are using pneumatic breaking system pressure was less compare to liquid what happened to high speed heavy duty vehicle, pls some one clear my doubts.
