Intellivision Demo Tape- 1979

This is a Beta tape showing off the new Intellivision game system- I don't know if this was for consumers or retailers. The most interesting part of it is the computer add-on which never made it to market, though in 1983 a different add-on called Aquarius came out.

@RegaLPleX08 Because NBC was the first of the "Big 3" networks to start keeping their logo onscreen all the time rendering their shows unwatchable, and when I put a video up showing how it ruined one of their shows they put in a copyright infringement complaint. I hate Regal Cinemas too- I worked for them 10 years ago and left because they had stupid common-width screens and they wanted to show the stupid ads BIGGER than the movie!

I upgraded from an Atari 2600 to an Intellivision back in the day. But most of us never seen the keyboard.

The biggest mistake from mattel electronics to NEVER release that keyboard with it’s promising software for it,BUT at the other hand it could,ve be the second adam expansion because of potential failure rates.

Haha that 16bit cpu wasn’t actually 16bit but more like 10bits because those other 6bits remain useless, And it’s resolution was very very low,even lower then that of the gameboy,an overhyped misleading supposedly hybrid gaming system.

My sister and I had an Intellivision for years.. I also had the Xbox game with a majority of the game, as well.. =)

@PortPowerAZ I have the Intellivision disc for the Playstation 2, but of course that isn't the same. The Intellivision's controllers are insanely awful though.

Notice the "Battlestar Galactica" logo on the Space Battle cartridge about 1:03. That licensing deal fell through before it went into production.

I never realized that but I never owned an Intellivision. I did have a TI-99/4A in the early '80s which also had a 16-bit processor but I actually never realized that until sometime in the '00s simply because I assumed the 99/4 and 99/4A were 8-bit. It was rather sluggish compared to the 8-bits of the time because Texas Instruments didn't have the right 8-bit processor chip ready so a 16-bit was used instead so affecting performance and not for the better. At least the cassette storage was much faster than the Atari 8-bit. As for the Intellivision, just like the TI home computer from the same time I simply assume was 8-bit except that it was only today I discovered the Intellivision was 16-bit thanks to watching this and verifying online.

Aquarius? Do you mean Intellivoice? Shame that didn't get more games designed for it... Ever hear about the "Can't say 'can't'" flaw related to it? And the in-house-only parody game the programmers created to play off of joke of what "can't" sounded-like when attempted to be spoken by the Intellivoice?
