You succeed this big cuz you always so serious and trying hard more than hard. Normal hairstylist will just say nope you can't bleach or you'll have disgusting hair. But you. You don't give up. You just try your best for what the customer want. I was so curious why you can give customer like blond from dyed black hair. But this explains a lot. You didn't do anything easy. You just tried so hard. You're amazing. You deserve bigger success. I see your passion and hard work. I wish for your more success!!!!

In this field, it's hard to find sincere and unselfish people who are willing to help and share their knowledge. You talking about owning up is SO TRUE! I just had my hair colored recently (I'm a stylist that has been temporarily out of the industry) - I wanted it a darker/steel grey but I had red color in my hair, so she had to lift some of that out. She lifted too much and used a direct dye (in the color I wanted) that turned my hair bright blue instead. I ended up having to fix it myself bc rather than getting me in the next day, she said to wait a week. And instead of saying I'm sorry, I messed up, I was told that it looked awesome. If I wanted blue hair, I would've asked for it. I did end up getting what I wanted but I had to do it myself. And that helped me make my decision to get back into hair. Watching your videos helped me, too. ;)

He's the only person I'd let do my hair if i ever grew it out again!!!! Gaaah, he does such beautiful work!!!!

Color and color correcting have been my focus in my career because I love doing color :) No matter how long someone has been doing hair there is always room for improvement and learning.....that is where you come in for me. i do my hair myself because most professionals i've dealt with always try to make something look too natural and are too afraid to do "guy tang" color. i started doing my own hair after wanting to go bleach blond, when no professional would do it for me. they were either too afraid of damage, or just wanted to put in some minor highlights. i've been doing my own hair for years now. i went from black to blond awhile back at home, but doing it on my own was like at least a 6 month process (as i was trying to do it with as little damage as possible on very NON virgin hair) it's amazing to see you do this in one day with so little damage! i was able to color correct my own hair with a very similar experience to this, but i had been bleaching/cutting/dying my own hair for over 3 years at that point- and had learned so much on my own from having vivid and pastel colors for so long. it really is something you need experience to do it properly.

I spent an hour in the chair as my stylist clucked about the mess my hair was in and I bit my tongue the whole because I had only seen her a month ago and she was the last person to do anything.

Watching your videos has taught me so much. Most importantly patience. You really take the time to dedicate yourself to each individual, you don't just rush you clients out the door so you can fit in as many clients as possible. I've have two different colorists destroy my hair ( and I only had highlights! ) before I lost complete faith and decided I was going to read and learn everything I can about hair care and coloring on my own. Your videos are my favorite to watch and learn from because their never the same products, results, or techniques. I'm not a professional by any means, I'll stick to my graphic design job, but I now have healthy white blonde hair down to my back, and color all my friends hair ( even if it takes 4 hours! ), and I can say we all thank you for the time and advice you've put into your videos, and all the hair and money you've helped us save.

This is exactly what I have been trying to explain to my classmates in hair school. When experimenting with hair color you have to be patient & you can't freak out but you do need to understand the different levels of color hair goes through in order to get to blonde especially coming from black. Plus you make it so much fun!!! You're awesome doll! 😊

I love your little monologue about the relationship between the client and the colorist and how we both need to be responsible. Because that is soooo sooo true! I feel lucky that I have gotten a great cutter and colorist that know my hair and know what it should feel like and I am super comfortable with to try new things because I know they listen to me. It sounds like you do the same. Your hair should be fun and make you feel good, but you have to be responsible about it. And having the right people to help you get there is crucial. Subscribed because I have also watched a couple of your vids and I love what you do with hair!

Really, having watched several of your videos on your channel, I love your colour work.I adored the black-grey hombre, that was quite unique and totally unlike anything I have seen before. Alice is sweetie, it must be great to have a friend not only with such trust in your obvious talent but with the hair to play with! I also know that Asian hair is gorgeously straight, strong and thick - I have Northern European fine blonde wispy hair that would NEVER take that amount of processing, it would break, then fray, then literally dissolve... as a friend discovered. So I take vicarious pleasure in watching the "organic process" with Alice's tresses. Keep up the great work - as they say " only a hairdresser can do what a hairdresser can do". How true.

Right now I'm doing a hairdressing course(at college) and we were asked a question "what would you specialize in? Cutting, coloring etc.." I love this look! but I have a real problem with your comment about diy hair... it's not always about time and money, I do my hair myself with no qualifications apart from what I've seen and read from other people and I've always had gorgeous results and never seriously damaged my hair. I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair, I know everything about it (obviously) and it's limitations and I absolutely wouldn't want anyone to do any colouring to my hair if they didn't know it well as I wouldn't trust them to not push my hair too far and risk damaging beyond a reasonable level and I imagine this is the case for a lot of people who do their own hair! So yeah just don't make assumptions about people who do their own hair.. :)

Guy Tang! Thank you for sharing this video! i LOVE color correction but after 30 years in the business i STILL sweat bullets when it comes to color correction! Probably because i have NO CLUE how long it's going to take and the price my client will end up paying in the end. I LOVE how you say "i don't know!" and "we will have to see" because with color correction like this it really is a crap shoot! LOVE how "real" you are! thanks again for sharing!

That's how I get a solid neon hair color without weird gross tones :P I take about a week to get my desired shade of blonde when I head for platinum. Just so I don't get too much breakage.. Don't be mean about home hair colourists, I CAN and regularly DO achieve this kind of colour using home hair colouring and I'm not the only one. Minimal to no breakage and it doesn't take me 9 HOURS! Also, you say around the 3 minute mark that you hate when stylists say "It's just hair, it grows back" and then at the 9 minute mark you say EXACTLY THAT about your client's hair in regards to breakage as well as the end-result. You should probably also know the difference between evening out colour when it's different tones and just lightening up the lot (you said you did the first but just did the second). If I had to choose between letting you touch my hair and shaving my head, I would choose bald.

I can totally appreciate your thoughts on respect and a relationship. As a long hair gal (My hair is about 3ft long and well maintained. I love to do elaborate braided up dos and get mega fancy sometimes.) I like to work with people who respect my decision to stay long. I once saw a fantastic colorist a few times and the last time I saw her I just... refused to go back. My hair is long, but far from boring. I have the tips dyed a vibrant red and I love the way the color weaves in between the dark and how it pops in the braids and twists I do. Her dismissive 'well, if it doesn't work out or you get tired of it, you can chop it off. ' just incensed me. Gurl, did you forget I want long hair without extensions? (I have no patience for upkeep) The offhanded commentary just upset me. And its not like I was going from like blonde to blue to black and to purple. I simply was changing the color placement to an all over versus the peekaboo. :(

Omgggg, I just absolutely love watching you dye hair and seeing the outcome!! I really want to get my hair done by you when I get older.

If you guys want to go dark. There are semi permanent browns and black dye. It will bleach out easier than a demi-permanent. I had blonde hair, dyed it black with ion semi dye. And two weeks later bleached it back to platinum in 30 minutes and not much breakage/damage.

A lot of people don't know this... you can use the barbel for a nipple piercing. They are considerably smaller, you don't have any rubbing or discomfort. However, some people's tongues are too big for the smaller barbell, so it isn't always recommended. I had mine pierced for 3 years and just took it out last month! I had zero damage to my teeth and gums. Maybe you can get it pierced again after you heal!! :)

You work some serious magic! With every video I've watched of yours I can seriously see myself having these colors done and I could easily see myself coming to you in my future.
