In the aftermath of the opening of the French Olympics ceremony, a lot of reflections have been done for Christians. Some of them are better than others. Of those within my sphere, the quality of David Watson's piece was head and shoulders above the rest. In this segment, we attend upon his wisdom and discern what this present moment required, so that future provocation might potentially be met with a different reaction in the future.

Those who enjoy "mocking" the Lord Jesus, gaslighting Christians, passive aggressive displays of hatred toward Christianity will be dealt with by a righteous God. There is no doubt in my mind. It's not our place to "take revenge." We have been commanded to love our neighbors, our enemies as ourselves. Firstly, we are to love our Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. ❤

When the Olympics ceremony aired, I happened to have read Romans 1 a few days before. It's amazing how a passage written 2000 years ago can so clearly depict what we are seeing today. I think it's a shock to people that we're no longer a Christian society - maybe (hopefully) a wake-up call.

I read that Elon Musk responded to the opening ceremonies by tweeting "Christianity has become toothless," and "Unless there is more bravery to stand up for what is fair and right, Christianity will perish." Musk is a smart guy, but he does not understand that Christianity can't be defeated by mockery or hatred. Christ is risen.

Yeah when one puts Christianity on equal footing with all other cultures and phenomena, one just isn't going to be able to understand it. Our faith isn't the same as other faiths. There is no equality. It is fundamentally different.

@@plainspokenpod thanks for the reply. I know it's an hour earlier in OK. I worked on a big air conditioning project in Tulsa 20 years ago. It was all rooftop AC units - April through mid July. We dodged thunderstorms in the Spring and avoided heat stroke in the Summer - Dan

Yeah Oklahoma has some wonderful people, but the hot wet summers are a pain. I like the big storms, but these humid dog days of summer aren't fun. I'm up early every weekday morning for a live stream morning briefing I do on Locals and Rumble. That's where this segment came from. It's easy just to get on here for a few minutes before I start recording to respond to any comments. Thanks for leaving one.

Read 2 Maccabees 6 - 7. Today is the saint day for Eleazar, the Seven Martyrs & their mother, Martyr Solomonia. This story in 2 Maccabees seems very relevant to the Olympics display.

I have not seen anywhere that the artistic director for the Opening Ceremony, Thomas Jolly, refuted that the scene was representing the Last Supper.

I totally agree that even if it was a pagan feast the composition and staging was intentional to mock the last supper by DaVinci. I was disgusted by the present of a young child present in the tableau. When someone shows you who they are, believe them. Drag queens also carried the torch and participated in other ways during opening ceremonies. There are other news stories that athletes are not permitted to pray of display signs of Christianity such as cross. I have prayed about this and will not be watching the Olympics.

I hope this helps Protestants to finally understand that Satan hates the Eucharist because the Eucharist is not just a symbol of Christ’s love and sacrifice for us, but really IS Him.

We don't have to agree on transubstantiation to agree that Communion (or Eucharist) is hated by Satan. Symbolic or real, Communion is a sacred act that the enemy hates because it is about Jesus and His commitment to us and our commitment to Him. That is why they try so hard to profane it. We could go around and around on this, but please understand that even though we may disagree on transubstantiation, it doesn't mean we don't view it as any less significant.

@@VTdarkangel I don’t believe in transubstantiation either. I’m Orthodox. But I do believe in John chapter 6.

@elizabetha.9808 I do, too. However, my church's interpretation of it is Jesus was speaking in metaphors. He was using food and the act of eating to represent what He was teaching them. If we consume the Gospel, we will not have any other want for spiritual sustenance. In my particular understanding, even though I see Communion as a symbolic metaphor, the Holy Spirit is present among us. Since it is a subjective experience, I can't speak for anyone else but myself, but I have felt His presence among us when we engage in Communion.
