Annalese Bletsch I am 100% against captivity of any wild animal for profits and shows. I visited SeaWorld Orlando a total of 4 times in the latter half of 2014 because a discounted ticket through a third party allowed me to visit as many times as I wished during that duration (ticket expired on Dec. 31). The last trip I took was in December, and I will not be going again. I made the decision to go mainly because I run an Instagram account called @SevenSeasOfFreedom, which has a stable following, and I had been posting on the subject, despite me not visiting a marine park for approximately 6 years. I was not well-versed on seeing the reality of the industry firsthand, since the last time I observed captive marine mammals was when I was ignorant to the truth. I figured that with my newfound knowledge, I would be able to notice disparities that I would not have considered otherwise and I could ask the right questions. I did not spend any money at the park, nor did I even park in SeaWorld's parking lot. I believe that the discounted ticket profits SeaWorld milked from me were worth it, as I turned off many people with my documentation. I hope this makes sense. In short, I have no future plans to attend any other marine parks or aquaria. This was a one-time thing.
I think I see some skin discoloration on his pectoral right where it meets his body. There's also a big white spot near his eye patch... Oh Tili! You poor big guy!
I'm all about that "set them free" stuff. But up close, holy hell he's massive. I went to one of these shows latest year. Unfortunately, tilikum was not in the viewing area, nor were the other orcas. Also, to any one else who's been to one of these shows, does anyone else get like disappointed in the fruitcakes on stage doing the "f you" dance in front of the helpless animals.
Poor, precious thing. He looks so completely drained and miserable. He just looks at you and then sweeps his head away, like he just can't take it anymore.
