Thanks! I'll recommend this excellent video to my students to complete their understanding about this particular grammar point. Their common mistake is saying "I'm boring." instead of "I'm bored." 😊

thanks for your clarification. I have a question about this lesson. for instance, rain has rained in the town. let's see these two examples which one is appropriate and precisely useful to use? 1. Nairobi is rained today. 2. Nairobi is raining today. thanks.
@AngloLinkEnglish
@AngloLinkEnglish 2 года назад
The correct sentence is: It has rained in Nairobi today.

A big-fat thanks to you Minoo!!!! What would have happened, had I not stumbled across your channel. I wish I got chance of learning from you in-person. That would be amazing right? Once again thank you for this lesson. Could you please explain the difference between of and about; while and when?

Hello Minoo, it's a good opportunity to ask you some questions .Let's take this example.The history interested me. I am interested in history. 1_Is this structure passive voice or not? 2 _ Is the phrase " in English " similar to the " By phrase " which used with passive voice? 3 _ Can we use the ed adjective without complement? 4 _ Can we use the ed adjective attributivly ? 5_ Do we have to answer why question when we use ing adjective.for example: He is very interesting person. Why is he very interesting person? He's a very interesting person. He has lots of great stories to tell.
@AngloLinkEnglish
@AngloLinkEnglish 2 года назад
Hello Ahmed, No, this is not the Passive Voice. No, only 'by' would indicate a Passive sentence, no other preposition. Yes, you can use it without a complement: I am tired. Yes: an excited child. Not necessarily.

Hlo Ma'am, can you please tell me the meaning of "I like falling asleep to watching tv"? Is this sentence correct? What is the meaning of "to" here? Please reply🙏
@AngloLinkEnglish
@AngloLinkEnglish Год назад
If you change the verb to 'prefer', the sentence becomes correct. The expression is: prefer A to B >> Prefer apples to bananas / Prefer doing A to doing B

another request, please, in Duolingo they don't accept me to put one year, they correct me for “a year” Why?
@AngloLinkEnglish

I'm not sure. What's the whole sentnece?
@MrRODOARZE

“Amy hopes to be richer in a year or two”
@AngloLinkEnglish

That's because 'in a year or two', 'in a week or so', etc. are fixed phrases.
@MrRODOARZE
@MrRODOARZE 2 года назад
you know? I also don't understand why they put the phrase “Amy espera ser más rica en un año o dos” in Spanish and it makes me wrong and they give the answer in the future. Duolingo's answer is. “Amy hopes she ’ll be richer in a year or two” I don’t understand why they change the present simple to a future. Thanks for your answer ☺️
