“Our religion is Divine but our history is human”. I love this quote of yours and this lecture on the subject of the the black stone clearly defines both. You did a wonderful job with your precise choice of words illustrating the historical facts and putting them in layman’s terms for the common men/women to understand and appreciate what you said. I am now retired and at one time administered one of the largest Mosque in So. California. InshaAllah, one day in the near future, I will visit Texas and hope that you will allow me to meet you in person and perhaps break bread or at least have a cup of tea or coffee with you. Until then, May The Holy One (SWT) Bless you and Grace you with His Mercy and Kindness forever. Aameen.
I had no idea that the hajr al aswaad had gone through many changes and that the one we see on Ka'abah isn't 100% that rock. I love these historical khatiras.

Speculations and conjectures of the highest order. If the Hajr-e-aswad is so important in Islam, how come it is not mentioned in the Qur'an anywhere? It's just a stone for God's sake, nothing more than that...just a mark to begin and end circumambulation.
Yep, and there is no circumambulation, tawaf I have been told and more so according to the context it's indicates come in a circle, unite , sit around a table, House of commons House of representatives House of Lords House of Allah ? It represents the constitution of Allah, a Kaaba can be any country and each one can have one What did ibraheem do ? He called his people to debate, (h-j-j) root indicates debate, they all came on foot ( female and male ) You should know the rest of the story, They made it into a cash cow, tourist attractions, income stream for them, forged Hadith
SubhanAllah, incredible, that was very interesting! Our religion is divine, history is not- İndeed! it is a Rock, does not harm nor benefit but is a special one because the Prophet PBUH treated it as such...

With due respects to you, Dr. Yasir Sahib, I like to make some improvements on this presentation. For a period Hejaz province with Makkah and Medina was under the Fatimid Caliphate of Egypt. Later Ayyubid Dynasty took control of Hejaz, subsequently Mamlukes from Egypt controlled Makkah and Medina. In 1507 CE Ottaman Sultan Saleem I defeated the Mamlukes and got control over Hejaz. He abolished namesake Abbasi caliphs who were under protection of Mamlukes. From then on Sultan Saleem and his heirs became Caliphs How and when Hajar Aswad got broken down is not my contention. Did it happen under Fatimid or Abbasi rule or even before is debatable. However, the broken pieces were encased in a block of lacquer, a resign but not some kind of tar. Under the reign of Sulaiman Qanuni also known as the Magnificent, Ottoman Empire was at its zenith. He got masjid Sulaimaniye Camii constructed in 1557 CE Under famous architect Mimar Sinan. It was the largest Masjid in Istanbul untill Camalica Masjid was opened in 2019. Sulaiman Qanuni sent a team of technicians to Hejaz to renovate Kabah and Masjid Nabwi. and also to Jerusalem to renovate Qubbat al Sakhra. Sultan Sulaiman’s contributions at Makkah included renovatation of roof of Kabah, resetting of Hajar Aswad with Silver casing around it, construction of Maqams for imams of four madhabs in the court yard around the Kabah. They can be seen in old photographs of Haram Shareef taken bbwfore 1950s. Later sultans built ornamental buildings for Zam Zam well and a rectangular boundary building with open entry all around the courtyard, Kabah in center. All those Ottoman buildings were demolished in 1963 except the rectangular boundary structure that got incorporated in the new extensions. It is alleged while Ottoman time renovation of kabah was going on, some relics of prophet and few pieces of Hajar Aswad from it's lacquer block were removed and taken to Istanbul. Those fragments of Hajar Aswad were installed in a smaller Masjid built by Sokullu Mohamet Pasha in 1572 CE, not too far from Hagia Sofiya. He was son-in-law of Sulaiman Qanuni and the Grand Vazeer of Ottoman empire. It was one of the last buildings designed by Mimar Sinan imperial archet. Sultan Ahmet Camii otherwise known as Blue Mosque built in 1607 CE is another important landmark closer to Hagia Sofia. Sultan Sulaiman died in 1566 six years before Masjid Sokullu was built. Hejaz was effectively under Ottoman caliphate till the out break of WWI. In 1925 King Abdul Azeez Al Saud took over Hejaz from Sharief Hussain ibn Ali. Dr. Noor Ahamed Tampa. Florida

People often expect that the religion should be preserved by Divine intervention - literally expecting miracles. However, this was never promised. Just as it was upon Bani Israeel to conserve the tradition, it is upon us to employ material means and initiative to preserve the tradition; including everything from the Quranic text to the Ka’bah.
Yes, that is what I suppose Allah Swt expects from us mortal humans who have been sent as vice regents to earth and elevated to the ranks of angels or even above.
Ottomans aren't part of our history, they are not legit Caliphate, they violated the rules, Caliphs can only be from the lineage of Qureych, that's why Ottomans were very racists towards Arabs and they continuously made sure the Arab world become less prosperous and civilized, their main focus was Turkey, but their colonies were suffering unlike the real Caliphates like the Rashidun and Umayyads were all the states flourished
*On the authority of Umm Haani’ bint Abi Taalib (رضي الله عنها). She said: “The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ , walked past me one day so I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, I have become old and weak - or something similar to this - so tell me of a good deed that I can do while I am sitting.’* *He ﷺ said: “Say ‘Subhaan Allaah’ 100 times for it is equivalent to freeing 100 slaves from the offspring of Ismaa‘eel; and say ‘Al-Hamdu li-llaah’ 100 times for it is equivalent to 100 horses saddled with reins ready to carry fighters in the cause of Allaah; and say ‘Allaahu Akbar’ 100 times for it is equivalent to 100 camels slaughtered for the sake of Allaah; and say ‘La Ilaah Illa Allaah’ 100 times.” Ibn Khalaf (the narrator from ‘Aasim) said, “I think he said: ‘…it fills what is between the heavens and the earth, and on that day out of all the deeds that are risen to Allaah, none will be better than yours except for a person who said what you said.’* [(Musnad Ahmad) Al-Munthiri, Al-Haythami, and Al-Albaani classified it as Hasan (good).
Masha Allah tabarakallah shukran sheigh after I listened to your talk I actually landed up in Istanbul and lo and behold our hotel is right opposite the masjid I walked in there it is all 4 pieces visible and the caretaker said the 5th piece is at the qabr of Sulaimanani

Why ottoman caliphs did not made pilgrimage to Hajj. what was the reason that the ottoman caliphs, not one of them try to do Hajj and visit Mecca and Medina. Please I request you to do khatira on this issue. why did they failed to do Hajj inspite of the abundance of all kinds of resources at their disposal
If they left Istanbul to do hajj or umrah in Makkah, one of their close relatives would depose them and take over power. So, inorder to prevent instability and civil strife, they stayed in Istanbul. In fact, one of the Ottoman princes named Cem Sultan was stripped of his right to the throne because he left for umrah :-)
Imam Bakeer interviewed recently YQ on ten questions, some on Aqeeda matters and some on fiqh matters . That podcast does not allow comments so forgive me I wish to comment here. Imam Bakeer was incredibly rude and without adab in his interview. He was trying to game YQ even as YQ kept insisting that the questions requires perspective, context etc. it was shameful! I was very upset. YQ is a sincere scholar and black and white categories are not his style. Even though Imam Bakeer has apologized, I would recommend not to engage in any interviews with him. And I will answer Imam Bakeer on whether to vote in the right or left , Democrat or Republican. Here is the answer : register as Independent. Then do the hard work, stop being ignorant and lazy and research the individuals down ballot , just like YQ recommended, review carefully the board members, the sherif, the judges and vote for those you consider Muslim and family value compliant. YQ is right not to be dragged in political advice. He should not recommend Biden or Trump. That is a trap question. This is exactly like the Evangelical support of Republicans. And that has torn the Evangelical community. The Imam asked about taking part in elections : I am sorry, I take my Islam from my scholars. I take my politics from my higher education in the one of the best universities, books, newspapers, processing information etc. Muslims should contest and participate in elections and impact policy as it affects Muslim causes.
Has there been done scientific research/analysis of the existing pebbles? I'd love to know if there's any hidden "other-wordly" nature within these stones if they're not from this world 😇
One of the lesser known facts about the Hajre Aswad is that it was stolen in the 800s by the Qamarite King of Bahrain. He killed the hujjaj that year and stuffed their dead bodies in the well of zamazam. Then he had the hajre Aswad removed and burnt down the entire ka'ba. He then returned to Bahrain and kept the stone there for 23 years where he used this rock for istinjah in the toilet (Muslims use rocks to clean after urinating instead of toilet paper). The interesting part is that even though Allah protected the ka'ba during the time the polytheists ruled by sending birds (Ababeel) to fight the army of the elephants, he decided not to protect the kaba ot his pilgrims when the muslims ruled makkah. The Qamarite king scolded the pilgrims as he killed their men, women and children, taunting with the question: Where are your ababeel? Where are your ababeel? Where are tour ababeel?
Although your lecture was good but what a hypocrisy that when the karamita took the hajre aswadh that was wrong but when Suleiman took it no problems because he's a Sunni.
SubhanAllah JazakAllah Khayr for correcting the narrative for us! We always heard our elders say that the hajr e aswad has gone black due to mankind’s sins.
But that was true. At the time of the prophet, peace be upon him, the stone had already become black. And it was already called Hajjar al aswad (literally means: black stone) at that time. Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The black stone descended from Paradise and it was whiter than milk, but it became black due to the sins of the children of Adam.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 877 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Tirmidhi
Salaams, every lecture of yours lot of time effort research is put into it before presented to us, May Allah always continue to bless you with your efforts in educating us and bless you family, thank you.from Kampala.
Those 5 pieces must be brought back to Mecca and inserted into the black stone in kaaba. Parts of black stone shall be merged with the black stone. To my surprise Muslim world is not interested in bringing back those pieces
All stones are millions of years old regardless of the fact whether they are revered or not. Send this stone to a lab for geological studies and they will be able to tell you what kind of a stone or a meteorite it is and that there is nothing special about it.

All religions that I know have a GOD creator of the Universe, ¿don't you think is time to accept it, unite all religions in the name of GOD CREATOR OF EVERYTHING? No christian, no budha, no muslim, no juda, no no any-thing just GOD empty and full in concept.
Black stone is the legacy of old civilization of Arabia.... there were other stones that belonged to other gods of Arabia such as Hubal... all destroyed as they decided to retain only allah as the God.. so this stone that belonged to allah was preserved... Kissing the stone was a practice in the Quraishi religion, which shares some similarities with Hinduism. Stone kissing is not a tradition in Christianity or Judaism. Islam, being a blend of Jewish (40%), Christian (10%), Quraishi (40%) traditions, with the remainder attributed to Mohammed's life , dealings with multiple wives, family issues, marriages, etc, does indeed share some common practices with Hinduism. For instance, circumambulation is a common practice in both Hinduism and Islam. In Hinduism, it involves walking around a deity, murti (statue), or another sacred object in a clockwise direction, often 7 or 9 times. In Islam, circumambulation is performed seven times around the Kaaba, starting and ending at the Hajar al-Aswad, a black stone embedded in the eastern corner of the structure. Similarly, the practice of head covering, such as the ghoonghat in Hinduism, has parallels in Islam with the wearing of the black Hijab. While in Hinduism, covering the face is a cultural practice, in Islam, it has become a religious requirement. The concept of holy water, like Zam zam in Islam, bears similarity to Hindu Prasadam, where after a puja, prasadam is distributed to devotees. Both are seen as receiving blessings and fostering a sense of community. The act of facing the Kaaba during prayer in Islam has similarities to idol worship in Hinduism. While God is believed to be omnipresent, the focus on Kabba during prayer reflects a form of idol worship. Circumambulating the Kaaba during Hajj is a central act, similar to the role of idols in Hinduism. While there are similarities between Islamic practices and Hinduism, it's important to respect and understand the nuances of each religion and culture. Being respectful and understanding towards all religions and cultures is key to promoting harmony and peace.
Those who accuse Islam teaching Muslims to worship the KaaBa seems like nevei relali looked into Islam. Judging Islam by Looking at Muslims acyioi is not gonna give The Right teaching. I knoe Muslims that' say drinking alcohol is halal , Astahfirullah! Can't believe people still discussing this subject . Everyone Everyone trying to say that Islam is paganism wants to act like they know what' real monotheism is yet they them selves are the pagans. Since y'all pagans think u know why is monotheism then why don't y'all become monithei !
Yur narrative is pure lies, neither prophet mohammad saw nor any khalifa stated on the hajre aswad origin. But it is believed that the stone is a meteorite fell in the middle point of the earth in saudi. N the first prayer gah was built by Hazrat Adam AS, n reinforced by Hazrat Ibrahim AS to this day.
nice explanation of history, but if you look at the doing of Prophet Mohammed s.l.a, in kissing hajar-e-aswad, and in his sunnat and sharia, is omar want to say that what he follows of Prophet doing, will not do benefit or harm , mean he want to say that any of Prophet s.l.a doings is just a thing without meaning in it. without any purpose in it, he want to say that kissing of Prophet s.l.a- hajar-e-aswad, and His s.l.a sunnat and sharia is just a play, only a tireless stressful work without winning or losing goal or achievement in it. and if you mention the speaking of omar why did you not mention the answer against this speaking of omar from Molana Ali ibn Abi Talib you should reconsider it in yourself
If Turkey stole Hajar Aswad, we should not encourage to visit their country, they're still very arrogants and racists like how the sultans were, i won't call them Caliphs because they weren't
Have 3 questions if stone sent down to Adam was stone handed down and came with Noah on the ark to get from Adam to Abraham.why Abraham,Noah and others animal sacrificers if they had a salvation stone, why in all the history, writings, stories, recorded words of God,not even one mention of black stone except the history stone was head of pagan idol, and the tradition and stone Arab pagan origins not Hebrew patriarch history, also you did not tell that the stone after broken in pieces was in toilet for about 20 years when missing there is historical record of that no historical of the black stone and Abraham mythology, because the stone is kissed is why it was put in the toilet by enemy also the stone color darkened in toilet all those years better hope the stone not made when judgement day and grows eyes and tongue to confess for you it is your only hope for salvation in Islam speak only the truth have more to say but enough truth for now may your head stone of al lot be your joy before you perish did Quran tell you about the worms in hell
I don't think you understood the question, your rant has nothing to do with the actual question itself. SubhanAllah shows the lack of knowledge you have.
Jazakallah for the informative lecture on the Hajr aaswad. Please update with slight modification on a piece of it ending up in the British Museum. Wassalmu
There are no gods. The testimony to this is the Islamic verse There is no god but Allah. Yet, they still say Allah is God. If Allah isnt God, what is it?
