Thanks for making videos without cursing and a bunch of foolishness. Glad I found some quality fishing videos that are fit to watch with my grandaughter.
@@victoradams4420 A lot of the time it's easier to look back on something and think or say what should have been done. I am very thankful that God sent his Son here to pay for all the things we should have done differently. God bless
I thought I noticed a Bic lighter in the purse, so that would mean it was lost sometime after 1973 since that is when the first Bic lighters came to market.
Usually the places you don’t think there are many fish turn out to be the best fishing. I told my dad it’s because everybody thinks the same thing as us and therefore the fish population gets plenty of time to grow. And the main factor.... The fish have not seen any of those lures before.... or worried about being caught at all. It’s nice finding new honey holes.
i have not seen a hog sucker since i was like 7-8 years old. That is awesome. nice find with the purse too. I found a full tackle box of rusted lures once. great video dude.
I remember those small credit cards, before computers were everywhere, you put that card in a "knuckle buster" and made an imprint of the card by moving a roller across pressure sensitive or carbon paper form. Then you signed it and got one copy to compare to the bill when it came in the mail.
Good luck finding the original owner of the purse. That is super cool of you to try and do that. I had never heard of a hog sucker either. I imagine a bunch of folks will comment that, lol.
you along with many other you tubers have inspired me to start making videos, I started a while ago and I'm loving making videos. Im trying to make as much videos as I can, but with it being in the colder months, its tough to catch some. Im loving your videos, and I hope to be like you one day. 👍
Glad I found this vid as I've been wondering. I'm also glad in a way that the woman wasn't on the Missing Person; Presumed Dead list. Interesting, the sort of thing one finds in these out-of-the-way places you favor. I recall losing my wallet on a spring creek trout fishing trip. 3 weeks after receiving my replacement driver license and all the other stuff, I got a phone call from a gentleman in the neighboring town, he'd found my wallet, did I want it back? We got together for several fishing trips, great guy, I learned quite a bit from him. God blesses in strange ways, sometimes.
Haven’t seen one of those suckers in a long time, didn’t know that’s what they were called. Good job trying to find the owner or family of the purse and stuff. Just to maybe hear the story on how it could’ve ended up where you found it and it would’ve been nice to be able to return it well what was left of it. Great video 👍🏻
Ok, so I've done a bit of research. Yes, Bic introduced the disposable lighter in 1973 but they only came in two colors, black and white. Have not been able to find a history on the yellow lighter but I also did some research on the Lazurus credit card. It was a department store in Columbus, Ohio till it was bought out by Macy's. Was not able to get any indicator on the card other than it was used in the 70's. Looking at a vintage Visa card from 1978. I was able to tell this card would have been older. Credit card became standardized to the size it is now. Finally, your 20 dollar bill looks to be from late 60's early 70's. With the life of an average bill being 7 years it would be fair to guess this purse went missing between 1975 and 1977.
I found a fellas wallet stuck on a branch midriver...called his bank since it was easy enough. I drove about 15 miles to meet him. Bank cards, DL, social sec card and birth cert....the guy didn't even say thanx.
Hog sucker. Never heard of that one! That was a nice bass! Yeah that was weird about the purse, like you said. Too bad you couldn't solve the mystery. Good idea taking it to the police. Nice video. 👍👍
I went fishing here in Alabama about 2000 or 01 and was casting towards a thick branch sticking up out of the water. Everything was muddy and covered in red brown mud after a big rain storm. I thought "damn someone has been up this creek (maybe 15ft wide) in a boat and stuck a boot on that big ass branch". But the more I looked I thought I hope thats not what I think it is,I cast over the "branch or limb" with a treble hook and snagged it and when I pulled the other leg rooled into view. I cut my line and got the hell outta there,I was probably 6 miles down the road before I thought to stop and call cops. It was a guy that had been missing his father had a scanner and had been searching for months. I've found everything from knives, native American arrowhead's a Glock 43 but not fishing I just walk the trails now I don't fish anymore. Heavy rain brought that body up and heavy rain uncovers the artifacts I hunt now. Guess its ironie.
Wow that's awesome that you have found that pursue. And you are trying so much to find the lady. You are a really good guy John. Great Videos. God bless.
I went fishing in Fremont ohio 2 summers ago at a river than runs up into Michigan and I found old faygo pop cans from the mid 80s, old beer cans from the 70s. Pretty neat.
Hey fellow Cleveland resident ✌ the mystery was fun. I guess she lived in the old house turned into a duplex and went AWOL..kinda imagine her starting a new life speeding down the road and yeeting her purse out the window
I think a thief would have taken the 20 and the charge cards. I'm surprised the police couldn't track her with a SS# but in a way I'm glad because if the police don't have a record of her, its probably not a missing person/unsolved murder.
Them suckers are everywhere in my backwood creeks' they also hit flies like wooly buggers and nymphs 'and make excellent live bait for catfish ' interesting video cfa keep on fishin dude🎣🎣🎣
Found an old medicine bottle once that was from the 1920s..it was really awesome learning about it since it was really well preserved..also found a 1960s ford (i think) in the middle of an island off the coast of Florida miles from any road..this is y I love exploring
Did you try the social security office. They may not have been able to give you the info, but they may have been able to trace the number to give her info to get in touch with you. Last year when fishing I found a cellphone with a credit card attachment and took it to the park office. Then once again, I found another wallet at another state park and took it to the park office. I would hope someone would do the same if I lost something.
Lazarus was a dept store chain in Ohio based in Columbus. Before we had credit cards that you could use any where stores would give you a credit line in their stores. They had a limit based on your income.
When I was a kid,my friend and I met Gary Ridgeway. The Green River Killer. We were fishing at 5 mile lake at the boat launch. This was a few years before he was caught and arrested. After I saw him on the news I always wondered if he dumped any dead bodies there? The boat launch is all fenced off and not accessible now. Ran into him a few times actually. I recall seeing him at the 7-11 once in a while too. 😬
Those suckers are alot of fun to catch and get pretty large. Usually catch them bottom fishing with worms in streams and rivers. We got a different species in NJ, the White Sucker.
Many thanks for a curse free video which many of us appreciate probably more than you realize. The purse possibly should be handed in to the police as you never know what the circumstances were. Warm regards from Perth Australia.
Vince!- EMG! In stones river that runs through Murfreesboro is absolutely full of them, if you haven’t fished there you should great bass and catfish in there
Lazarus stores were only found in the Midwest...primarily Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia. Looks like an out of state individual. Visiting or working nearby for a period. Or worse....
You may be able to get somewhere with a credit bureau such as Equifax or with the Medical Information Bureau. I don't know if the Popo tried either of those sources. As a past banker I have tracked people down many times, but we didn't let a car get to be 50 years old before we started looking! LOL
First time I’ve seen a hog sucker. I have something similar in rivers near me called Sacramento sucker. Fights a lot like a catfish. Also, glad you took that purse by the police. You never know. There’s tons of unsolved missing persons.
Those hogsuckers don't get a lot of style points do they? LOL Cool mystery find too. We used to have a Lazarus store over in Lexington. Nice mid/high end dept store, that woman wore nice clothes!
Lazarus!! I haven't heard that in years lol. Columbus Ohio is about 35 minutes north of me. Sucks you couldn't locate the woman though. It's crazy to think how old and how many miles that traveled down stream.
Since you have a social security card you can go to the social security office and tell them what you have found. Also look online into any missing persons from the 70's in and around that area. Being found by a creek could be a car ran off a road, bridge etc. If curiosity is killing the cat you snoop deeper. Answers are always out there. Especially having a social security card.
Yeah I would try looking up the name of the lady on a website called whitepages it should tell u if she is alive and more. I'm very intrigued in this cuz it would be a great story if you could return it.
amazing the stuff you can find out in the woods..I have found some strange things out fishing and hiking in my years.. but never a whole purse.. Well good job trying to find this gal.. What a mystery.. I would love to figure that kind of stuff out.. I usually find guns and fishing poles camping gear but sometimes I found really old stuff like dredges and halters horse shoes.. I still have an old rifle I found hanging on my wall.. well thanks for sharing.. carry on brother..
@@CreekFishingAdventures the ones that I have found had been out in the woods for many a year.. We find them now and then from about 20 years old and further back.. it is fun.. I will look in the attic and see if there are any others left and then send you one if there is..
John, have you tried an internet search based on the individual's full name? If you have that, try to see if you can find a obituary listing for this person. She might be deceased. The only other thing you might be able to do is to go to the county courthouse and see if this person lived there in your county. If you do, you might be able to track her down that way. If that doesn't not produce any results, you might just have to chalk this situation up to something that you will never solve. It's OK if you don't. You at least tried and that says a lot about your honesty in wanting to help out someone.
That's intriguing! You can run the social security number through a background check - though, you would have to pay a few dollars. *If it really starts to eat at you, you could hire a detective to run through all public records (state and national) - especially with the social and date of birth. It could be a missing-persons case that never got reported. Or, a lonely person who was lost, nameless and faceless, and whom inspires you to write a book about yourself, who finds freedom in fishing and faith, and at the same time, solving a small mystery about a stranger from a different generation - only to have plot twist of your own "creation." Wonder what would happen if you searched around the area for more clues. *Good video!
I was just curious if you were able to find the woman who owned the purse yet, if you haven't then at least you did the right thing by trying to return it to her. I think most people that find a $ 20 dollar bill would keep it and not say anything , myself included but it's nice to see that there's still some people that have morals and just want to do the right thing.
I really wanted to find an end to the mystery. I researched, asked people and then too it to the police department. No body could tell me anything about it. I guess she moved away a long time ago
Hey John, I am a retired private investigator, if you go to the “Social Security death Index” and type in the Social Security number and the woman’s name and state you can find out whether she is deceased or not and possibly a location.
I do love a good mystery!! If you want any help I'd be more than happy to! I get a kick out of researching just about anything! Just a thought... you should ask the local historical society. I looked it up and they are located at 833 N Ocoee Street, Cleveland, Tenn. The name on the sign out front of the Library is: Johnson Tucker Center of the Bradley County Library - History Branch & Archives. Hope this helps!
I'm a light gear fisherman from the PNW and I love your videos. I dont wrestle fish into the bank I let them get tired, but my common fish over here is King Salmon and Steelhead but I fish Rainbows and Kokanee as well. Do Bass not need to be wore out even on light gear?
@@CreekFishingAdventures I was gonna say I seen you use lighter line plenty haha I always snap my line tying knots when I use 2lb s.o lightest ive used was 4lb aaaaand those seem like some 2lbers you'r pullin ha either way love the channel
