Interior Design - Affordable Sophisticated Bedroom Makeover 

I love Lynda Reeves. I love this video. I love the look and colour and layering and texture and pattern in this room. Wow I wishes we had more affordable home decor stores in Singapore with loads of varieties of home decor goodies at unbeatable prices. This is great!!! I enjoyed this one. I would luv to see Lynda Reeves shopping in a Value Village or Oxfam shop just so I could see her reaction to the prices lol. Now that would be decorating on a budget! Always a fan of Lynda!

The "art" is just paint brush swishes. For budget pictures, I bought a Norman Rockwell callender, Dollar Store frames (paint any color). Cut out the picture and frame it. Looks great and adds color to the room. Also got one with black and white photos of Marilyn Monroe and put the pictures in black frames. Put 3-4 together on a white wall--POP!

Even something as those 🍍pineapples🍍 styled in the windowsill makes a huge difference. That lr loves looking in on that gorgeous color palette is everything...that's the joy of design, the awe & wonder of life✨

The orange color accent or the green would have done wonders! I still love it!

flowers would be a nice touch and guest items visible.. when guests come.. its gorgeous and the two stores you shopped at had some great bargains. You did a fantastic job of adding all the pieces at one time but the room could have been done by adding a piece at a time which would have been even more budget friendly!! again the room is gorgeous! I suppose I'm in the minority here (no pun intended). While I didn't find the pieces "affordable" at least not in my income bracket, I do think they are good starting points for someone looking to redecorate. I found the lack of color soothing and tasteful. Thank you for sharing.

I absolutely love this room make over and the energy of the video. I wish some of the videos offered a range in makeovers i.e, rooms that cost $500 to redo, $1000 or less. That would be fun because there would be something for everyone, and give them an opportunity to see that! Thanks again for the inspiration!

I think when she said affordable she should have mentioned a budget. Affordable means different things to different people. Still she never mentioned what she actually spent.

The original shade and location by the bed for the lamp was better. That other lamp doesn't flow with the room. Pretty good redo!

I'm pretty sure everyone complain about prices in this video had never shop for furniture in Canada. I bought a new house last year and went through most of the furniture stores in the market. The prices in this video are actually pretty cheap if you want decent quality furniture. I mean, you may find desk less than $100 in Ikea, but it certainly wouldn't be hardwood.

I absolutely love watching decorating/ redecorating projects & while it may not have been what I would have done , it was fun watching what someone ELSE does- for me that's the whole point for watching- from where they shop, what is purchased & how it all comes together. Good job & I admit I WAS relieved when the orange pillows weren't part of the project...

The find of the century? Ms Reeves notices right away the paint on the table is already chipped and suggests repainting it, then proceeds to demonstrates how -with its cheap construction - the legs wobble: you get what you pay for - or even less.

Affordable?? Really?? this room could have been done on a much smaller budget by shopping in re-sale shops and upcycling the buys. it would have looked very similar, except for maybe those expensive sheets on the bed.

Simply Beautiful!

Orange would have been fantastic for a pop of color. Why not bring some bright colors into this room and emphasize the light from the windows. A colorful lumbar cushion for the very white chair and a patterned rug to pick up the theme on the floor. The black desk worked better with the stool. Just saying, there is enough neutral white already, jazz it up.

I never use the second guestroom but I did it on affordable budget but I'm not even going to disclose the said 'Affordable' budget. Bye peasants.

It was a decent/nice looking second guest bedroom, I would have taken out the old wooden table holding the TV though. Looked very out of place.

All these people complaining about how affordable things are must be hoping she went to the dollar store. I think her point was you can get an elegant looking room on a smaller budget. Finding 2 nice decorative pillows for $30 is actually not that easy and $13 for a nice substantial frame is not bad as well. And so what that she chose her SECOND guest bedroom, that's the room that needed an update. I would hope that as an interior designer most of the rooms in her home were decorated, I'd be surprised if she said this was her master.

I love this room! He puts the stool down, she goes and moves it 5 inches. That would get a little annoying haha! But I guess she knows what she wants!

Try going to Good Will, I saw a side table like that for 25 bucks! All I would have to do Is sand It, and paint It black!

Omg I loved this! At first I didn't see where she was going and didn't like the colors. Once put together it flowed perfectly! It's something that can be done slowly, & don't have to be bought all at once. I'm decorating my first house and slowly but surely it's coming together. Decorating is an investment we didn't really want to make, but we're glad we did. We still have alot to go though. I look forward to seeing more videos :)

while i found the end result quite boreing and definitely would have loved to see the orange instead, $30 for two pillows was a bargain im a bargain shopper and i found her quite amusing because she was so surprised by the cheap prices lol she was rethinking her design budgets on future projects for sure!

If the pillows were 29 and the desk 100. That's already 129. Plus $80 for the frames that already $209 bucks without even talking about the bedding, 2 lamps, lampshade, pineapple bookends, the paint for the dresser, that little stool thing, rug etc come on lady get real. Say what you really spent. I think the spare bedroom was a bit boring after the makeover...but that's just my opinion

Except for the desk and the lamp (which look like one item....) I thought the end result was great! Favorite part is the candles, which are in my favorite shade of my favorite color!

Now I just love walking by this room that nobody uses. 😂

Hmm. Not so sure these bargains are so bargainy, actually. But I guess for a designer room, it's cheap. :) Kind of missed the orange in the final room, though. Some colour would have been lovely.

Decorating and being affordable is possible, get a sample of a room that you like, keep a list of items to add, go bargain shopping, Home depot and Lowes are perfect places, they usually don't sell out on seasonal items/ rugs/ other odds and ends and want to push items out of the store to make room for new items. I got a rug that was 400 dollars for 60 bucks, some really sturdy lanterns for 5 dollars each, they were 29.98.. Just go out and look.

All that white in there, it look like a fantasy mental hospital room.

How disappointed I was at the finished product. You teased me with that lovely orange then you went to this dull greyish green and soft mustard. It was so designer sterile. Typical patterns you find in any home department from Target to Macy's. But I guess that is the look you were going for. If so you nailed it. Simple, clean and functional.

I would have never ever chosen the items you purchased... found them somehow unpleasant as single pieces, but when your whole interior composition was done, I even approved of the mustard tones, usually a cmplete no-go for me.... Compliments from Germany.

I like how she says affordable but then has a team sanding, priming and painting furniture for her. To us affordable means buy something cheap and put in the work yourself to make it look amazing. Let's be honest, she's a little out of touch with reality.

I agree with most posters here. This is not affordable for someone on a budget. The thing with affordable items is, if you buy them by the bucketload like she did, the total is not affordable anymore.
