Thank you for not only the efficiency room tour, but the evolution of the design as well. I have to remember that living on a budget doesn't mean to sacrifice beauty just to squeeze a penny. This video was a good example of a reasonable compromise between the two.

I don't know how I got here I was watching stuff about hetalia now watching home decorating ideas I don't even own a home I'm 13 Edit: Its been a few years and just noticed so many replied with such sweet comments, seeing me comment about hetalia makes me feel old lol, i must say i am 18 and still very much so into decorating still no house tho lol

Dottie McGee Thanks for leaving your comment. I think its worth a reply. The term "Budget" is relative. On this channel, my viewers are used to watching us design some of the most expensive homes in Southern California. So... relatively speaking, Sharrah's new place WAS on a budget. We also made a point of it on this video because 7 months earlier, I had gone all out to design her first apartment with all new furniture, reclaimed wood wall and light fixtures. Moving out so soon was unexpected and not something I was excited about. For this reason, we did a much less expensive version and tried to make a pint of that on this video. BTW, there WAS particle board in her apartment... The bed frame was from IKEA ;-) RR

Robeson Design just a tip regarding Paul Liptrott comment. I don't understand why a person being in your position of having a successful blog on RU-vid would even take offense to this comment. Sometimes, (even if you are offended) it's more appropriate to turn the other cheek and ignore it. I view your comment as passive aggressive and since you're an "out going and bubbly personality " you will probably just say that you're being yourself and speaking up for yourself because that's the way you are. The problem with that is that there is a fine line with being "confident and assertive vs just being plain rude and narcissistic ". When you're in the position that you're in, successful, intelligent and very talented, it's wise sometime to say nothing rather than ruin your image with that particular person or in this case by proxy. I am disappointed in your response to your fan and it really makes me question if you are the team player your videos make you out to be with a fun creative streak or are you really a passive aggressive type person who bosses everyone around and then just says "I was joking or you took it wrong" when things get heated. See how your passive aggressiveness has now affected 2 ppl!

This gives me a lot of inspiration. I have a small space: living room/dining room/kitchen/sewing room all in one! It's been a challenge to organize, and I've done a good job (I think) but I see some great ideas I can incorporate to make the space more functional. Loved how you were able to turn a very small room into a multi purpose space without it looking too crammed and still being functional! I am currently trying to do the same thing with one room and have also decided to stick with a neutral color scheme and bins have been a life saver!

I'm an architect and I'm studying a master degree in interior design. One of the biggest challenge as an interior designer is redecorating/designing small places to make them look spacious and comfortable. And you did it! Just wondering how are you able to install the ceiling fixture, various hardware items and remove cabinet doors and paint them in an apartment. I have had rental property and typically it is frowned upon to do those things...although they are a huge improvement to the space. Love the transformation of the tiny room.

Very nice studio apartment! Your mom is talented. Colors are pleasing. I would have slightly less furniture and stuff but I know it is small. Sometimes I like a minimal look with very nice furniture without all the knick knacks. But I do like all the furniture items that were used !! Happy New Year !!!!!!!

What I would do is get a sofa with a pull out bed, or a futon. Saves a little space so you don't need a bed and sofa.

Yeah but sleeping on that kinda sucks. That's what I was going to do but I couldn't sleep like that. You can buy a queen size mattress and a simple bed for about 700 bucks

It’s 350 sq feet and needs to serve multiple purposes. It makes sense to have a place to sit and watch tv, a desk for work, a dining area, etc. it may be tight but it serves every necessary purpose.

That is one tiny apartment, but it's little jewel. You certainly utilized and organized every square inch of it! Very clever design.

I live in SF and just signed a lease for an ocean front apartment about 700 square feet . I am going to take at least 7 ideas from this video. I just spoke to the girl that you met at Disney land adventure park on New Year's Day. She couldn't believe that she had met a celebrity. I showed her that I am subscribed already to your channel. She gave me a new idea. Always paint your colors after you have moved everything in. She said you video taped her conversation. Looking towards the video.

Wouldn't the landlord have wanted you to leave the apartment in the new, beautiful way you turned it into? Was it really necessary to put it all back to the way it was?

The ideal for property owners is for all rooms to look the same in a generic format. Even lux upgrades can be considered a negative to them because then the apartments could end up looking dissimilar, making the place less marketable. Also, not everyone has good style, so building owned don’t always like the upgrades.
