I think the pom pom pillows are cute, not too froo froo. The entire room is so inviting. I think both men and women would be comfortable there. So, I think a smattering of cuteness and/or froo froo is allowed. Love the video.
i LOVE how you used a TON of stuff from your old place. Its not always feasible to go all out and buy new things for additional rooms in a new house. This is a great idea that I hadn't really thought of!!
I’d vote for seeing the living room next! If I had to add one thing to the guest room, it would be a plant or two. If you’re not in there enough to water them, faux plants can save the day 🌿
I am.so so very happy I found your channel. I have been following your Mom like forever. Shes such a very loving person. I wish. Oh how I wish you were living or even close by in Maryland to assist me with my bedroom. I spend lots of time in my bedroom because I get very ill some days with my Lupus and Fibromyalgia. Ibe been trying by best to declutter and make my bedroom more organized and comfy. But it's very difficult . If I do a lot I get so tired and weary and my entire body becomes very painful. That would be the end for me. Its quite frustrating. But you and your mom is so inspiring. I always pray or wish to win one of those makeovers for my bedroom. Maybe some day. Thank you for inspiring us, and teaching us to make a room so much more relaxing and Beautiful. You are as kind and loving as your mom. The guess book in your guess bedroom was the greatest thought ever. Never saw that done before. Blessings.
Real person watching your videos! I just found your channel when you put contact paper on the kitchen counters. I liked the mirror/fake window trick in your guest room. And the rug!
I recently became disabled, DR. mistake, anyway, I live in a 2bed or 3bd living room I sleep in. but I am trying to keep it simple and I really liked your ideas. I have the same couch and t.v. ( not art but Samsung new flat) almost the same table seats 6 but I don't know where to put it, it is my desk too. I have room but I refuse to let anything get messy or complicated so I enjoyed your clean and open look and since I take 100x longer to get things done, I appreciate your little tips, like the books, and lighting. Thank you. I love your dog.... my next goal.
The dining room! Did you have a dining room before?... I remember it being behind the dining table. Love your style, can’t wait to use your inspo in my own condo!
You certainly achieved the end results that you were aiming for. I love your philosophy about reusing what you already have. Some great tips on setting up a guest room as well as adding some personal touches to make your visitor(s) feel right at home. I really enjoyed your presentation. Thank you! Darryl
Love everything about this room! Love the chair, don't take it away, and the pillow is perfect it coordinates with the round one on the bed. Hope you do the living room next xoxoxo
LOVE the travel vibe and all the details! You definitely nailed the design portion but also the comfort and “real people will actually stay here”, thoughtful side. Nice work
Lovely room!! So restful and I love the rug!!! Great trick with the mirror and curtains. I will definitely use that. I would love to see what you do with the little reading nook/ breakfast area !
I just watched this for the second time and will definitely incorporate many of your ideas into the basement guest room, especially the mirror, bed tray, wifi sign, books, basket with snacks. 2 suggestions though. I would include some bottles of water with the snacks and would add a waste basket somewhere in the room.
Dinning room, if I remember correctly. I just moved into a new 1,800 square foot house. I have a guest room for the first time in 13 years!! Love your videos.
This guest room is dreamy! Could not agree more about reusing old furniture and bits you already have. For our guest room the only new pieces we bought were curtains, a rug and a lamp! Everything else we already had. I love leaving guest towels out with a little basket of shampoos, shower gel, sweets, chargers, paracetamol (for those drinking sessions) and bottled water for my guests. Xx
Your new guest room is cozy and very inviting. I vote to keep the chair in the guest room (and no, the pillow is not too froufrou) and get some sort of storage piece to create a magnificent butler's pantry and fully utilize that fabulous storage space. You may have luck at flea markets, thrift stores or auctions finding a Scandi/mid-century modern narrow china cabinet, small armoire or bookcase with glass front and closed storage that would be an excellent piece on the wall by the dining room entrance. (Go vertical and maximize all that amazing storage potential and you can get your kitchen/dining items out of the garage!! Woo Hoo!) I love closed storage, as lots of open shelves can feel visually cluttered and cuts down on dust!! Perhaps a small closed cabinet or a drop leaf table under the window to place items you are retrieving or returning to their proper place. Personally, a chair in that space doesn't make much sense to me, but you do whatever suits you! How about getting a second chair to put in your multi-function room with the door to the backyard? You'll see it every time you let that precious Scout outside! Could she be any cuter? She is beyond ADORABLE!!
What a beautiful gift you have! God bless your ability to envision a space with a certain vibe or atmosphere and be able to create it...and then, in such a lovely way, explain and inspire those of us that don’t have that talent to make a their space welcoming and cohesive ...just felt like saying that...thank you...I’m inspired!
I have a bronze leaf wrought iron hook that I hang my black hat on. Then I hang my CK white scarf under the hat or over it. Looks nice on a white wall.
Beautiful and inviting guest room! The only thing that I would add is a place to land a suitcase. I use an old wide wooden trunk at the foot of the bed. Depends on the amount of room that you have.
Mr. Bull was in the dining room in your last home! Sharrah, you are so thoughtful in every room you put together. I absolutely LOVED how you pulled out all the stops for your guest room. Thank you for sharing your insight! I would enjoy seeing what you would do with your backyard next!!! You’re amazing!
The bull picture was behind your dining room table. So nice to see you sitting in front of it again. I'd love it if you did the living room next! One of my summer projects is to revamp ours and I'd love some tips. Your guest room is gorgeous!
Loooooove the guest bedroom! That chair is fabulous, I get why you wanna see it everyday . I'd just get a second one, lol. And the pillow is awesome, Tyler is wrong. 😆
Mr Bull lived in your dining room! I am enjoying watching you turn this rental property into your home. It looks great so far! And it’s so wonderful that you are back in SD near your mom!
love the bedroom detail and really appreciate the great tip on the 2nd window illusion using a mirror and the chair pillows are very cozy they draw the eye into the space.
"That's like the worst when you go visit someones house, take a shower and then like "were do I get a towel?" and everyone's asleep and it's super awkward". Never heard anything more relatable 😂
I vote for the living room next. I have been absolutely loving watching you decorate your home! We are getting ready to move into our new house and I love the ideas Im getting by watching your latest videos!
How does this channel not have 1mil subs yet?! You give the best ideas and you decorate everything soooo beautiful not to mention you set up everything professionally! Love this!
We have a spare bedroom that we currently use as an office but we are going to put a bed in there. These are super helpful tips to make it feel that much cosier! Thanks
Also please include some clothing storage so your guests can unpack and not live out of a suitcase, even if it's just the top drawer of an already used dresser. A blanket chest would even be better than a suitcase. And speaking of blankets, some people, especially older ones, get cold easily. Maybe have a lap blanket with your chair. Being able to relax AND stay warm while having morning coffee or having devotions in a space you feel like is your own is something everyone can appreciate. Providing a place to hide their unsightly luggage or dirty laundry that will be taken home later, or even washed at your house, without having to mix their clothing in with yours, or worse, throw them in a plastic bag, is something that really makes a person feel better. A trash can for the random wrappers or papers that would come with setting up a gift basket or desk area, but can also be accessed from the bed relatively easy. (Yes, I eat snacks in bed, don't you? I also journal or draw in my bed. It's part of my routine.) If you have tissues, your guests won't want to have to leave the room every time they blow their noses. A fan or noise maker, extra pillows, low relaxation lights, and even a hook for their own bath towels (if you don't have one designated in your bathroom) would also be helpful. Another thing I always struggle with when staying at other people's houses (unless they are just like minded) is a place to put my phone, charger, and little extra electronic gear. What about other random things people bring, like books, journals, pens, paper? Making sure that you have an easy place to organize these things near the bed is also a really good idea. It sounds like a lot, but you want to think about what you would like to have in your own room, and add some of the more mundane things you need but might use the rest of the house for. Guests should have their own little house in their room, so that they can function as an independent unit within your home, but also feel free to use your house and make themselves at home.
This is gorgeous. Between the rug and the lamps and the little personal touches, I think I may love this even more than your master bedroom (which is beautiful as well!). Your guests are very lucky people :-).
Yeah, Scout's really going hard with trying to upstage you. It's a bit of a distraction, but it's a good distraction! Your thunder has been entirely stolen... what is this about? Oh yeah, guest bedrooms... and the take away is make sure to have a great dog. Got it!
