In this video I wrap the interior on my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4. Pretty much the same process can be done on a 2019, 2020, and 2021 Chevrolet Silverado too.

I love my truck, but that chrome trim acts like little mirrors all over. The sun bounces off all those surfaces and it is annoying to try to deal with at times. I'm glad you posted this, I'm going to give it a try.

I literally tried this 2 days ago on my AT4 and ripped it off. I took the trim pieces out but couldnt get clean edges in the creases. I tried using the heat gun like you did but i found it just caused the wrap to go back to its original form and not go into the creases.

That can happen. Depends on the brand and characteristics of the wrap material too.

I might try to match the brown/orange seat trim color and use that as your trim color

Funny - I have a base model / WT trim, and I'm trying to replace my bland black trim with the chrome you are trying to cover LOL. Nonetheless, I really appreciate you posting this video. I may try to actually do a chrome wrap (or maybe red, as my truck is red) like you did on my pieces instead. The tutorial was great. I did want to point out to you that taking the pieces off won't 100% allow you to tuck in everything. For example, the AC ducts don't fully come apart where you can go 360% around everything. Depending on the piece, you can only "wrap around" half of it. I can send you pictures if needed, so you don't waste your time taking something apart when it won't do what you expect it to. Nonetheless, thank you again for this video and tutorial! I think the white looks great over the trim. I'd be curious to see how it looked if you did the orange like the seat inserts are though ;) . Thanks! No need for pics, I know what you mean. Copper vinyl is a available that is supposed to match the seat inserts pretty well. People have been asking me to do a video on this, I had some vinyl to use, so I did it 👍🏼

Great tutorial as always! I'm not a fan of the white. It seems to pop a little bit too much with the darker interior colours. Something that matches the inlays on the seats or black would look good!

White, purple, neon - This is a demonstration - I don’t even know if I like it ‘white’ 😂 It might be better in another color like the seat inserts or something dark! Good news is this was free and only took a few hours

Hey that's the beauty of vinyl! Hate it? OK! Mess up? OK! Want the original? And just as you said, it only took a couple hours. I find myself getting excited about doing stuff like this. Then when I'm doing it, I'm zeroed in, appreciate my successes, question my intelligence with failures, and finally; if it works...YES! If it doesn't...just means I get to spend another day doing it all over again.

Man I’d just be glad to get rid of the chrome! It reflects the bright Central Valley California sunlight right into my eyes no matter which way it’s coming into the cab. Generally not a fan of chrome to begin with, but the choice to chrome plate interior trim that’s all sortsa crazy angles was just bad design, IMHO. Thanks for this, even if I don’t try it myself I at least have a better idea of what to do besides gaffer tape. 😂 Maybe I can find a local shop to do it reasonably cheaply. 🤔

Yup maybe something close to gun metal so there's not so much contrast.. but enough to see the contrast... white is just too much contrast.. 👍✌

Have you tried to remove the bezels for the front vents? I'm plasti dipping the "chrome" in the front to eliminate glare off it while driving on sunny days but no luck so far trying to get the 2 out side one off to spray them

I haven’t. I suspect they are small breakable clips. Sometimes looking up replacement parts online or even Ebay can show you parts and where their clips or mounting points are for reference. Sorry I don’t know offhand though

Same situation for me. I could do the cup holders since they popped out but the speaker bezels (doors), vent trims, door chrome, etc. scare me when I tried one of the speaker trims. I heard a crack and something fell inside. Thankfully it didn't impact its fitment but my heart sank. When I shined a light it looked like a chrome clip that sits behind the plastic of the door. I'm beginning to think I'm going to spend a lot of time inside my truck. There could be worse things!

Good job on the DIY wrap. That said, I think that white trim looks terrible. If you want to do a chrome delete I’d suggest a satin black or gunmetal, this looks like an AutoZone upgrade.

@@ls5454ss I’m with you there! I do think everyone should do their homework on what options were available for their years, even across brands. I am replacing all the outside chrome of our 2020 Yukon Denali, with a 2018 Escalade ESV factory blacked out trim. Will look MUCH better than plastidip or vinyl and will last forever. Costs more, of course, but again lasts forever

I know the video you said that you weren’t using a color match to the exterior paint but from your experience have you purchased or seen also color matching to your exterior paint. I ask because I just ordered the new 1500 SLT Refresh in summit white. And want to delete the outside chrome asap when I take delivery. Please help there’s a company that is called color match but the want for a 1ft square $100. I’m going to need more than that. For all the chrome.

I haven't found an exact match yet. I have tried Avery and VViViD Gloss White. Maybe try 3M or visit a local wrap or sign shop and ask for a sample of whichever white they use. White is often stocked at some places for commercial wraps

I found Vvivid’s Vinyl to be very hard to use. Any one recommend any better/softer vinyl for use like in this video for small/intricate areas? Also found it hard to stick.

Avery SW900 is one of the most forgiving I have used
